    Marner hatty, four-point game propels VGK to Game 3 win 6-2

    Mitch Marner's natural hat trick and four point game lifted the Golden Knights to a 6-2 win at the Pond in Anaheim in Game 3.  VGK takes a 2-1 series lead after a dominant Ducks performance in the first two games of the series.  Game 4 is set for Sunday in Anaheim.  The Golden Knights needed an early start and Shea Theodore potted the opening goal just a minute+ into the game.  VGK had a killer goal with about :05 to go in the first period by Marner to take a 3-0 lead after one and the Ducks were swimming upstream the rest of the way.  Lucas Dostal was pulled after giving up the first three goals.  Ville Husso played the second and third periods in net.  Carter Hart had another solid game coming up with a lot of huge saves.     Golden Knights look for at least one win in Anaheim this weekend

    The Golden Knights will aim to win at least one game this weekend in Anaheim against a team that has dominated the series in a variety of ways.  Although the series is tied at 1-1, the Ducks feel they have momentum heading back home. VGK wants to take back home ice advantage this weekend.  We have our adjustments and lineup changes could be in order, especially to sit an ineffective Keegan Kolesar.  The Golden Knights are going to have to use whatever depth they have to try to slow down the Ducks, who are the speedier team.  We also haven't seen much hitting in this series yet.  And, it's WTF Day with fan comments.  FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states.     Strong PK can't hide Anaheim speed as Tortorella waits to adjust

    VGK started Game 2 by shutting down the potent Ducks power play.  In the first period, the Golden Knights committed four straight penalties, including a Jack Eichel double-minor.  VGK killed off 1:38 of a Ducks 5 on 3 during that span.  But having to kill off that many penalties early on, might have taken VGK out of sync.  At one point the Golden Knights were outshot by the speedier Ducks 15-4.  Mark Stone had the only goal for the Golden Knights as he tipped in a Jack Eichel shot with just 6-seconds remaining.  We are surprised there has been no physicality in this series by either team. Mitch Marner and Brett Howden were -3 in plus/minus.  John Tortorella said he wants to see his team move the puck more in the Ducks end.  Will Torts be forced to make lineup changes with ineffective VGK Tomas Hertl, Kaeden Korczak and Keegan Kolesar still chewing up valuable minutes.  And the two Anaheim goals were the result of the Ducks speed in transition.  The Golden Knights looked slow at times.  FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states.     Tortorella demands more in Game 2

    Barbashev's Game-Winner Fuels Icing Outrage as VGK Takes 1-0 Series Lead

    The Golden Knights scored the game-winning goal Monday on a contraversial no-call on an apparant icing with about 5-minutes remaing.  Ivan Barbashev rushed the net after icing was waived off and Pavel Dorofeyev found him in front for the game-winner.  The Ducks thought it was an obvious icing and stopped playing while Barbashev scored the game winner.  Brett Howden scored earlier and Mitch Marner added an empty netter.  VGK won game 1 3-1.  The Golden Knights were controlling the game for the most part as they shut down the Ducks power play.  The Ducks were 0-for-5 on the man advantage.  And, we talk about how minutes were distributed for VGK in Game 1.    FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states.     VGK and Ducks collide in first-ever playoff series. Who survives?

    The Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks each have momentum coming into the second round series.  VGK disposed of Utah in six games, the Ducks took care of defending Western Conference champion-Edmonton in six games as well.  There are a lot of storylines heading into this series.  The first game is Monday at 7pm at the Fortress. Coaching, special teams, faceoffs and other intangibles are mentioned on the podcast.  Anaheim swept VGK all three meetings this season.  They faced Akira Schmid twice and Adin Hill once.  The last meeting was in February.  This will be the first time the Ducks will face John Tortorella, now the VGK head coach.  We have locks, props and Chance.     Special Edition: Golden Knights wrap-up series in 6 games, up next Anaheim

    Mitch Marner had three points on two goals and an assist, as VGK closed out the series vs. Utah 5-1 in the sixth game of the opening round.  It was Marner's insurance goal in the second period that gave VGK a 2-1 lead and propelled them to the win.  It came on a long shift for Utah.  The Golden Knights experience came through in the end and the defense built a wall around Carter Hart.  We discuss turning points in the series and a first look at the Anaheim series.  FANDUEL DISCLAIMER: 21+ in select states.
