Women and Crime

After listening to the latest episode and literally every episode leading up I had to leave a review. I love listening to these ladies discuss cases. They’re knowledgeable, of course, and cover these cases with their own takes. I thought hearing that they had voices for the written word was humorous because I love listening to them talk. I have to say I looked up pictures of them before watching any videos so just had, in my head, the idea of whose voice belonged to who. When I saw a documentary that they were in, or one of them was in I believe relating to Melanie McGuire I was thrown for such a loop because I switched their voices…in my head of course. Anyways love them. Love the show.

lol..they recorded an episode before the current administration took charge and DID what they said should be done, then had to put a long disclaimer in front of it bc it was going to air after to make sure you know now they disagree with that bc ya know…have to stay on that liberal agenda being teachers and all…I tried so hard to stick with these womens podcasts but holy hell, make up your minds

I’ve made the decision to cancel my subscription. I’ve been enjoying the podcast for a while, and it seems like interrupting each other has gotten worse. I was just listening to the Technology Outpacing Law episode and you read a review of someone critiquing you both, but Amy specifically for interrupting, but you both do it. You both hardly allow a sentence to be said before interrupting with questions that likely wouldn’t be necessary if you just let each other finish, and then ask questions. You can take notes of the questions you have and ask them after each host is done if they weren’t answered. The constant interrupting of each other is very frustrating. I’ve also had enough of the W&C Reconsidered filler episodes, which usually have no new information. Finally, it wasn’t my review that was read, but it’s pretty disrespectful of Amy to laugh at reviews as she’s reading them, instead of accepting constructive criticism, or just not reading them at all. It shows disregard for your listeners, who may also be subscribers and paying for your show to be disrespected in that way. I’m done.

I want to say that I have the utmost respect for both hosts. I am an attorney and have worked in criminal law in the past. I quite enjoy the deep dive this podcast goes into the criminological aspects each story. Usually, this is done with respect and a clear passion for the work! However, it now seems that every single update from yall is a “case revisited.” It is simply not interesting, especially for long time listeners. These stories are already published and listenable—why do a “recap” of it? Especially when no key updates are made. Perhaps yall are focused more on the new listeners. And that is fine. But unfortunately you’ve lost a loyal listener in myself. It feels lazy to just push out an already done story, and I’m sure the people who can afford to pay for your show are being treated better. Just sucks bc you did have some really loyal listeners who were so excited and dedicated to listen weekly. Now I just feel disappointment when I open the app and see it’s yet again another repeat.
