    The Kings People | Why Don't I Hear from God? | Luke 7:29-35 with Pastor Clayton Tyner

    Why don't I hear from God? It's one of the most common questions Christians ask. We want clarity. We want to know what God is saying. We want to feel His presence and know we're being led in the right direction. But what if the problem isn't that God isn't speaking? What if we've already received revelation from God—and we haven't responded? In Luke 7:29–35, Jesus contrasts two groups of people. The tax collectors and ordinary people received John's message and acknowledged that God's way was right. The religious leaders rejected John—and then rejected Jesus. The difference wasn't intelligence. It wasn't social status. It wasn't that one group had all the answers. It was their response to what God had already revealed. Revelation received produces recognition. Revelation rejected produces resistance. Every time God reveals something to us, we have a choice: receive it and respond, or reject it and move on. And Scripture warns that continually rejecting God's revelation can gradually harden our hearts and impair our ability to hear and respond to Him. So maybe the better question isn't: “God, what are You saying next?” Maybe it's: “God, what have You already said that I haven't responded to?” What conviction have you been putting off? What has God been asking you to surrender? Is there someone you need to forgive? Something you need to confess? A relationship you need to reconcile? A habit you need to surrender? A step of obedience you've been avoiding? Or perhaps you've never taken the first step of trusting Jesus. You may not need more revelation about something God has already made clear. You may need to respond. And the good news is that it is never too late. God can pierce through our blindness and soften our hearts today.     The Kings People | What Did You Go Out to See? | Luke 24-28 with Pastor Tony Albano

    Herod was in a palace. John was in a prison. So which one was winning? In Luke 7:24–28, Jesus asks the crowd, “What did you go out into the wilderness to see?” And then He gives us a radically different picture of what greatness looks like. John didn't get the palace. He didn't get comfort, freedom, wealth, or even the long life he might have expected. But Jesus didn't look at John's life and call it wasted. He called it great. Because Jesus was using a different scoreboard. This message asks a deeper question: What makes a life great? Is it comfort? Success? Freedom? Wealth? Getting everything we want? Or is greatness measured by what—and Who—we give our lives to? We're all spending our lives. We don't get to keep them. We only get to decide what we're going to spend them on. And Christianity doesn't begin with what we give Jesus. It begins with what Jesus has already given us. Before Jesus ever asks you to lay something down, He laid down His life for you. Grace comes first. Surrender is our response. So what does that look like? Sometimes it looks less dramatic than John's life: putting your phone down and getting on the floor with your kids, fighting for a healthy marriage, serving when nobody notices, living generously, forgiving someone who doesn't deserve it, or obeying Jesus when it costs you something. Because this is what The King's People do. We give our lives to what our King says matters. And if your life doesn't look the way you thought it would, don't confuse the circumstances of your life with Jesus' verdict over your life. John's cell wasn't Jesus' verdict on John. The palace shows us the kind of greatness we're tempted to chase. The prison shows us the kind of greatness we might completely miss. But the cross shows us the One who is actually worthy of our lives. We're all spending our lives. The question is what we're spending them on. A great life isn't measured by what you get from it. It's measured by what you give it to.     The Kings People: The Prison of Doubt with Pastor Clayton Tyner

    What do you do when Jesus doesn't do what you expected Him to do? In Luke 7, even John the Baptist reaches a moment of uncertainty. The man who once boldly proclaimed Jesus now finds himself asking a difficult question: “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” John had seen Jesus. He had baptized Jesus. He had proclaimed His coming. And yet now, sitting in prison, John is struggling to reconcile what he believed Jesus would do with what Jesus was actually doing. This passage gives us permission to bring our questions, disappointment, confusion, and doubt to Jesus. Because sometimes faith isn't about having no questions. Sometimes faith is about bringing your questions to the right person.     The Kings People: At the Gate: Luke 7:11-17 with Pastor Clayton Tyner

    What happens when Jesus meets you at the gate? In Luke 7, Jesus encounters a grieving widow in the tiny town of Nain. Her only son has died, and she is walking out of the city with his funeral procession. At the same moment, Jesus and a large crowd are entering the city. Two crowds collide at the gate. One is celebrating.  One is mourning.  One is walking toward life.  One is walking toward death. And then Jesus sees her. Jesus doesn't wait for her to ask. He moves toward her in compassion, touches the coffin, and speaks life into a situation that appears completely hopeless.  But this story is about more than one widow in Nain. We all come to gates in our lives — moments that change everything. A diagnosis. Divorce. Addiction. Financial crisis. A prodigal child. Loss. Grief. Failure. Fear. And Luke wants us to know: JESUS MEETS US AT THE GATE. The question is: Will we recognize Him? Will we surrender to Him?  And ultimately, Jesus would walk through the final gate Himself — death — so that death would no longer have the final word for those who belong to Him.  🙏 If you're facing a difficult gate right now, don't give up.     Fulfilled: The Kings People: Luke 7:1-10 with Pastor Clayton Tyner

    What does it actually mean to be one of The King’s People? In Luke 7, Jesus encounters a Roman centurion whose faith amazes Him. This man understands something that many of the religious people around Jesus had missed: true authority is derived, not demanded. The centurion knew that his own authority came from being under a greater authority—and he recognized that Jesus carried an authority that came from Heaven itself.  The question for us is simple: Who gets the final say in your life? Jesus doesn't just want authority over one part of our lives.
