The Natural Birth Podcast

I started listening to Anna’s podcast in January 2023 when I was 21 weeks pregnant with my first. I hadn’t yet touched the surface of true physiological birth and was simply looking for “natural birth” stories, which in my mind was just giving birth to a baby in the normal way, not by c-section, and natural birth could include epidurals and pitocin. With that mindset, I was a little put off by the first few stories I listened to, but I kept listening because Anna provides a gentle, kind and trusting voice throughout each story that made me want to keep listening. As I listened to more stories, my soul connected so deeply with what is being taught in every story: every woman’s body and baby are designed to give birth and will do it perfectly in the right environment of feeling safe, supported, and loved, while leaning into trust and patience. And this looks different for everyone just as every birth experience is different. Every woman on this podcast shows how a knowledge of this sacred truth about her body and baby is one of the most empowering things a woman can believe and know. Listening to the stories here changed what I know and believe about birth so drastically that I’m now surprised when I hear a friend want the societal norm of being in the hospital with an epidural for her birth because she is scared of it. I have developed so much confidence in birth because of what I now know, which leads me to trust however it chooses to unfold, knowing it will be different every time. I am forever grateful for Anna for creating this space that is changing the birth world one woman and one birth at a time.

Such an incredible source of natural birth stories! This was so helpful for me to listen to when I was preparing to homebirth my first child. Appreciate the variety of stories shared and knowledgeable insights from Anna.

For me, this podcast was so helpful while I was pregnant with my first baby. I knew that I wanted a natural birth and although I wanted a home, I felt that the natural birth was the most important thing for me and that I should also listen to stories of women who birthed in hospitals. I really enjoy how the guests are from all over the world because I feel it gives an accurate understanding of the medical system. I very much recommend this podcast to anyone who is pregnant, regardless of what their birth strategies are. Thank you!

I am planning to have a natural birth in the hospital and sought out a podcast to try and prepare for that. Listening to the episode about natural birth in the hospital was frustrating. This woman is extremely negative towards hospital births and will leave you feeling like you basically have no chance of succeeding with a natural hospital births. I’m disappointed in her negativity towards a situation that to her is not “perfect”. Maybe it’s perfect for someone else though.
