Each episode, a comedian attempts ten trivia questions with the help of the brains trust - Australia’s best improvisers, deep in character, completely committed, and almost entirely useless.     In 2017, New Zealand granted legal personhood to a what? Alex Ward turns up ready to redeem herself after a poor showing last time, and brings up her home-made cooking show Ready Steady Wardy, a tribute to Ready Steady Cook that somehow ended up outlasting the original. Calling in to help: Rance Vandersyn, a Joondalup businessman running "Cats4Cash," a cash-for-felines scheme with fluctuating market prices and no questions asked; Steve Manley, founder of the Chode Society, a support group dedicated to normalising an unfortunately-shaped anatomy; and Joey Boner, host of a prank show streamed on a shady platform called BetX, who assaults people on the streets of Tokyo and lets viewers bet on how long he'll spend in jail for it.     What common nut is actually a legume masquerading as a common nut? Ting Lim turns up straight from the airport, suitcase in hand, joking that the housing crisis has her sleeping on podcasts between gigs. Talking her through it: Lady Legume, a well-travelled legume who has spent years hiding among the common nuts in disguise; Kevin Plonk, president of the Wet Dog 40 club, whose sole method for determining the wettest dog is squeezing it like a sponge; and Mr Colpita, a gay wizard who married a stiff, salty man before turning him into a children's toy out of frustration at his lack of flexibility.     In 2020, an Arizona driver was caught cheating the carpool lane by strapping what into the passenger seat? Damian Callinan spends the hour cheerfully admitting he can't read a room, right up until the phone lines produce a fully grown dolphin son he never knew about. Helping him not at all: Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emperor who claims credit for both dynamite and the Zorba, the Rat King, a six-person-sized tangle of tails with a lingering grudge against the Macy's Parade, and HLD, a highly litigious dolphin lawyer working his way up the Low Court. Con Coutis studied Latin, loves the word defenestrate, and used to do the newspaper quiz with his parents until they moved to Perth. Helping him: Formula One driver Lando Norris, calling in to deny there is a rat under his hat; White Blade, half man half vampire, all their strengths, none of their weaknesses, who moves into your neighbourhood and ruins it; and Al Gore, who fights climate change 364 days a year and burns rubber on the other one.     Why did eight uninvited theatre companies turn up in Edinburgh in August 1947, accidentally creating the Fringe? Rhys Nicholson - Kyran's husband - is in the guest chair, and the brains trust includes a member of the actual household: Hopkins the dog, on stage and alarmingly candid. Phoning in to help are Shrek, who maintains his film is a documentary of his life; Soft Touch Sherelle, a TAFE-trained Ipswich wedding celebrant with very strong views on uncles filming the bride; and Raffaello Esposito, the Neapolitan pizzaiolo who takes pineapple on pizza straight to the ICC as a war crime.
