EP 337 The Purpose Mistake That's Costing You Intimacy in Midlife Marriage

Can you pursue your purpose, use your God-given gifts AND still have a loving, thriving, passionate marriage? Or is your ambition quietly stealing the intimacy, emotional connection, romance, and desire you want with your husband? Friend, if you're in midlife or the empty nest and wondering, “What does God have for me now?” this episode is for you. Maybe you have dreams. A business you want to build. A ministry on your heart. A career you love. People you want to help. But you also want your husband. You want more emotional connection, intimacy, romance, affection, physical intimacy, and passion in your marriage. For years, I thought I had something to prove. But God began showing me that the gifts I was trying so hard to prove I had were gifts He gave me in the first place. What if you surrendered those gifts back to Him? And what if you didn't have to choose between purpose and a passionate marriage? In this episode of Midlife Marriage Makeover, I'm sharing 3 simple shifts that have helped me get my priorities back into alignment: 1. Pick your mentors wisely. Don't just ask if they're successful. Ask whether their values and destination align with yours. 2. Give God your time first. Quiet the noise of the world telling you to do more and prove more, and let God direct the gifts He's given you. 3. Decide what you want to build in your marriage. Your business, career or ministry isn't the only thing you're building. Your marriage needs your time, presence, affection, emotional connection, romance, and physical intimacy too. Friend, you don't have to stop dreaming. You don't have to stop building. And you don't have to stop being ambitious. You can use your gifts, pursue your God-given purpose AND intentionally create a loving, thriving, passionate marriage. Maybe the freedom comes when you stop trying to prove what you're capable of and start asking: “God, what could You do with these gifts if I completely surrendered them to You?” Ready for more intimacy and connection in your marriage? My limited 1:1 Midlife Marriage Intimacy Reset coaching is for the Christian wife who loves her husband but feels stuck and wants more emotional connection, intimacy, romance, and desire. EP 336 Want More Intimacy? 5 Daily Habits to Rebuild Connection in Midlife Marriage

Want more intimacy and connection with your husband, but you're not sure how to actually create it? Maybe you want to talk more, feel excited about romance and physical intimacy again, and bring some FUN back into your midlife marriage instead of feeling like you're just going through the motions. Friend, you don't need one huge marriage breakthrough. The emotional connection, intimacy, romance, and desire you want are often rebuilt through the small things you repeatedly think, pray, and DO. In today's episode of Midlife Marriage Makeover, I'm giving you 5 simple daily habits to rebuild connection in your midlife and empty nest marriage using the three pillars I believe have transformed my own marriage: mindset, biblical principles, and practical strategies. We're talking about how to shift the thoughts creating distance between you and your husband, pray for your marriage before trying to fix it, create a simple 10-minute connection habit, replace correction with curiosity and appreciation, and bring physical warmth and affection back into your everyday marriage. Because friend, you can say you want more connection, romance, intimacy, and desire... But eventually, the vision has to become action. You don't have to change 20, 25, or 30 years of marriage overnight. One thought. One prayer. One conversation. One touch. One small action at a time. Those ordinary moments may be exactly where God begins rebuilding the intimacy and connection you've been longing for. Ready for personalized help with your marriage? I'm opening a limited number of spots for my 1:1 Midlife Marriage Intimacy Reset. P 334 Stop Overthinking Your Husband and Do This Instead 3 Simple Shifts to Rebuild Intimacy & Connection

Could overthinking your husband be killing the intimacy and desire you’re trying to get back? Friend, I did this for years and didn’t even realize it. My husband would be quiet and I’d wonder, What’s wrong? Is he upset? Did I do something? He wouldn’t respond to something the way I thought he should and I’d make it mean he didn’t care. Or he’d forget something I told him and my mind would go straight to, He never listens to me. Sound familiar? Here’s what God has been showing me. Sometimes what creates the distance between us isn’t what our husbands actually did. It’s what we decided it meant. In EP 334: Stop Overthinking Your Husband and Do This Instead — 3 Simple Shifts to Rebuild Intimacy & Connection, I’m wrapping up my “Let Him... and See What Happens” series with something that has made such a difference in my own marriage. For years, I expected my husband to think like I think. Process like I process. Communicate like I communicate. And when he didn’t, I interpreted him through the way I would think or respond. But he’s not me. And honestly, sometimes when he says he’s tired... he’s just tired. 😂 We don’t have to create an entire story around it. In this episode, I’m sharing 3 simple shifts that have helped me stop assuming and start getting curious. I’ll show you how to separate what actually happened from what you’re making it mean, how to stop assuming you know what your husband is thinking, and how giving him the benefit of the doubt can completely change the way you feel toward him. Because friend, this matters when it comes to intimacy too. It’s really hard to desire a man you’ve spent all day negatively interpreting in your mind. Our thoughts matter. Romans 12:2 talks about being transformed by the renewing of our minds, and I believe this applies to our marriages too. The thoughts we have about our husbands affect how we feel toward them. And how we feel affects how we show up. Our affection. Our openness. Our emotional connection. Our physical intimacy. Even our desire. This isn’t about pretending there aren’t real problems or never having hard conversations. It’s simply learning to stop and ask: What do I actually know... and what am I making this mean? Maybe his mood isn’t about you. Maybe he doesn’t need to communicate exactly like you do. Maybe you can simply... Let Him Be Him... and see what happens. ❤️ I really believe there can be more connection, more romance, more intimacy and more desire in this season of your marriage. And come join me inside my private Facebook group: Empty Nest Wives: Rebuilding Intimacy & Connection → It’s for Christian wives who love their husbands and want to feel close again—emotionally and physically. And one more thing... I’m getting ready to open a very limited number of private 1:1 coaching spots. If you’ve been listening and thinking, “I understand what she’s saying, but I need help figuring out what this looks like in my marriage,” this is going to be for you. I’ll be sharing more very soon. ❤️

But what if some of the pursuit you’ve been longing for is already happening—and you’ve stopped recognizing it as pursuit? In the empty nest years, it’s easy for sex drive, emotional connection, romance, and physical intimacy to change. After decades of raising kids, staying busy, taking care of everyone else, and constantly doing, you may finally have time for your marriage... yet somehow intimacy feels harder than ever. Maybe when your husband reaches for you, kisses you, touches you, or initiates sex, your mind immediately goes to: “I’m tired.” “Not tonight.” “Is that all he thinks about?” “Why can’t he be romantic first?” But friend, what if his desire for you isn’t pressure? What if it’s pursuit? I want him to pursue me. I want to feel close sexually again.” Maybe the answer isn’t trying harder. Maybe it’s slowing down enough to notice how your husband is already reaching toward you. Have you ever thought: “Why doesn’t he think like I do?”“Why doesn’t he communicate the way I do?”“Why doesn’t he respond the way I would?” Friend, maybe your husband’s differences aren’t the problem. In this episode of Midlife Marriage Makeover, I’m sharing a simple shift that has changed my own marriage: stop trying to figure your husband out and start getting curious about him again. Recently, one conversation with my husband reminded me that after decades of marriage, there are still things I don’t know about this man!
