LOVE MURDER

I’ve been listening for over a year and I love the hosts: they get to the story, banter fuels the story and the research is thorough. Such a fan and recommend to anyone looking for a good true crime pod!

I love listening to Jessie and Andie. They are such a great duo. Always interesting topics and hearing their takes cases is so entertaining.

I used to work at a donut shop on overnights. A coworker told me about Love/Murder. I started listening in 2021, and I haven’t stopped. I am a true crime junkie (thanks pandemic!)—but I am very, very picky about what I listen to. I love the niche that Jessie and Andie cover. Jessie does an amazing job researching and writing each episode. The thing I love is that they always find the humanity, but they are also willing to highlight the absurd. There was a case where a man’s wife fell over a cliff. Shocker, the police found a map of the hiking trail in his car—complete with an indication of the best place to push her off of a cliff. Then there was the case where a man supposedly got trampled by cattle. Oddly, though, he only had one hoof print on his chest. They treat each victim with the utmost respect. They don’t glorify the crime. Plenty of themes have emerged over the years. One of the show’s favorite refrains is to “just get divorced!” Andie has, in the past couple of years, also been in the writer’s seat. She has focused on international crimes that fit the love/murder genre. She does a wonderful job of highlighting stories that maybe haven’t been covered as much here in the States. These women obviously love each other and respect the hell out of each other. It is a joy to listen every week. I can usually predict what is going to make Andie proclaim something in French, or say “Jessica, stop it!” They cover their subject matter with kindness and respect and never shame the victims. Honestly, the highlight of my week is listening to these two unpacking another love/murder case. I feel bad that I’ve only just now written this review! They’ve always deserved five stars. Do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk, to the latest episode. Or really dive in and join them on Patreon. You will not be disappointed!!
