Live Better, Longer: The Science of Aging Well

Episode 150. A milestone worth celebrating - and worth spending on something that actually matters. Today LeeAnne teaches the science of aging well, straightfrom one of the most credible independent longevity researchers working right now. LeeAnne Hayden went to Nashville and sat in a room with5,000 people while Dr. Rhonda Patrick, PhD, founder of FoundMyFitness, broke down the four fundamental things most people are not getting enough of - and how those gaps are making aging harder than it needs to be. Not complicatedinterventions. Not expensive procedures. Four foundational levers that the research says matter more than almost anything else. In this episode LeeAnne teaches all four of them, shareswhere she stands on each one personally, and explains what happened when her husband John sat in the same room and decided at 67 that he was ready to start taking his health seriously. Her BioAge - the age her cells actually register ratherthan her chronological age - came back at 47 and a half. She is 55. That is what consistent daily inputs over years actually looks like. The four levers Dr. RhondaPatrick presented: -  Vitamin D - not a vitamin but a steroid hormone that regulatesover 1,000 genes and 70% of the US population has insufficient levels -  Omega-3 index - a measurable, testable number that correlateswith lower all-cause mortality, better brain health, and lower inflammation -  Magnesium - involved in over 300 enzymatic reactions, stored in bone, widely deficient and dramatically underdiagnosed -  NAD+ - required for cellular energy and DNA repair, declineswith age as inflammation burns through it Also in this episode: -  What BioAge actually is and how LeeAnne tested hers -  Why vitamin D functions as a steroid hormone and what that means for women in menopause -  The omega-3 comparison that stopped John cold -  Why standard blood tests miss magnesium deficiency and what to do instead -  The COSMOS study and why the 'multivitamins are expensive urine'narrative was wrong -  What LeeAnne personally takes and why it landed differentlyafter hearing the science -  A note for anyone who has had a cancer history and wants to know about NAD IV drips -  Episode 150 - what 150 episodes actually means and where the show is going Small daily inputs compound over decades. You cannot fix in a year what has been declining since you were 20. But you can start now. The best time was 10 years ago. The second best time is right now. Ten Years With an Ostomy. I Would Not Change a Thing.

Ten years with an ostomy. LeeAnne Hayden missed her stoversary on air because she was not recording at the time. So this week she is coming back to it honestly. January 15th of this year was LeeAnne's ten year stomaversary. Ten years since surgery. Ten years of figuring out what life lookslike on the other side of something that changes everything. And in thisepisode she sits down and actually talks about what those ten years have looked like, from the first days of waking up scared and crying on the closet floor because she could not get into her old clothes, to Vegas in 2017 walking acrossa fitness competition stage with Ivan right there with her and getting a standing ovation, to Hyrox in 2019, to Italy four times, Greece, Honduras mission trips, Nicaragua, yin yoga on Sunday mornings, 25 years with John, and an ordinary Tuesday that looks pretty quiet from the outside and pretty full from theinside. This episode is for anyone who is new to ostomy life andwondering if the person they used to be is still in there. She is. And ten years from now you will not believe how far you have come. In this episode: -  The ten year stomaversary LeeAnne missed on air and why she is coming back to it now -  What the first year actually felt like, the fear, the adjustments, the closet floor moments -  How social media has transformed the ostomy community in ten years -  The foods that changed and the ones that never came back (no broccoli, ever) -  Still lifting weights four days a week at 55, two upper body and two lower body -  The Vegas fitness competition in 2017 with Ivan on stage, almost eight years ago -  Hyrox in 2019 and where the last six years have gone -  Yin yoga on Sunday mornings and what it actually feels like tohug a pillow for an hour -  Italy four times, Greece, Honduras mission trips, Nicaragua, travel as a non-negotiable -  25 years with John, 19 of them married, and what that kind ofpartnership actually looks like -  The moment after surgery she was afraid someone would bump into her at lunch and how she talked herself out of it -  What ten years out actually feels like on an ordinary Tuesday -  What is coming on Beautifully Whole, guests, HRT, peptides, AI, reinvention after 55 -  Ten years in and she would not change a thing It has become such a piece of me. I Went to Nashville Questioning. I Came Home Certain.

LeeAnne went to Nashville questioning whether she still had it in her to build again. She came home with something she did not expect: certainty. This episode is the honest version of what happened inNashville - not a highlight reel. Before the conference even started, there was a 4am blowout in the hotel room that could have derailed the whole trip. It did not. Because ten years out from her ostomy, LeeAnne has learned that these moments are not the story. They are just part of living a full life. At the conference, something shifted. She sat in roomswhere scientists talked about longevity in a way that finally connected all the dots - why aging starts inside your cells before it shows up in the mirror, why small daily habits matter more than any single intervention, and why communityis not a nice extra but an actual driver of health outcomes. She watched John - 67 years old, recently retired - decide he wants to take better care of himself and be part of what she is building. And she left knowing her direction. Longevity is not just your health. It is your financial future. It is your marriage. It is how you function every single day. That iswhat this episode is really about. In this episode: -  The honest reason she and John went to Nashville - and thequestion she was carrying going in -  The 4am ostomy blowout in the hotel room that could havederailed everything - and did not -  What she heard from scientists about longevity, NAD+, and why aging starts in your cells -  The data point about community that deserves more attention than it gets -  Watching John at 67 decide he wants to get healthier and build alongside her -  Why longevity is not just a health conversation - it isfinancial, relational, and daily -  The BioAge longevity event - what it is and how to register -  What she came home certain about after five days of questioning I went in questioning. I came out answered. I know my direction. I know where I am going. Episode 147 - The Habit That Was Quietly Wrecking My Mornings

In this episode, I walk through exactly what happened to my mornings this past year, why I started reaching for my phone before my feet even hit the floor, and the specific, small things I've put back in place at 55 to feel like myself again.HIGHLIGHTS- The moment I realized my confidence had quietly taken a hit this year (14:04)- Why my husband's 4:40am alarm taught me more about structure than I wanted to learn (1:22)- How structure carried me through corporate and into building my own thing, until it didn't (2:05)- Becoming the full-time caretaker for my 82-year-old aunt, and what that really cost my mornings (5:44)- The moment I caught myself judging my whole day by what my aura ring said before I was even out of bed (3:41)- What I've put back, non-negotiable by non-negotiable, starting with the first hour of the day (6:14)- Why movement isn't optional for me, mentally or with an ostomy (7:50)- The two supplements I actually use, and why I stopped guessing at what my body needs (9:23)(Timestamps are approximate, taken from the transcript's own captions.)RESOURCES + LINKSLiquid BioCell Life+ (collagen):https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.shaklee.com/en_US/leeannehayden/Nutrition/Targeted-Solutions/Collagen/Liquid-BioCell%25C2%25AE-Life%252B/p/21432&source=gmail&ust=1785426211029000&sa=EMeology personalized nutrition assessment:https://www.google.com/url?q=https://us.shaklee.com/en_US/leeannehayden/Nutrition/Essential-Nutrition/Meology/Meology%25C2%25AE/p/89543&source=gmail&ust=1785426211029000&sa=EWebsite: https://www.google.com/url?q=http://leeannehayden.com&source=gmail&ust=1785426211029000&sa=ECONNECT WITH LEEANNEInstagram: @leeannehaydenYouTube: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://www.youtube.com/@LeeAnneHayden&source=gmail&ust=1785426211029000&sa=EWebsite: https://www.google.com/url?q=http://leeannehayden.com&source=gmail&ust=1785426211029000&sa=E"Beautifully Whole is the podcast for women who have been through something and are ready to feel like themselves again. The Year I Went Back to Corporate America And Why I Will Never Go Back

What happens when you leave a business you built - and go back to corporate America? LeeAnne did exactly that. And she is not going to let you forget the moment Ivan rumbled in a quiet meeting. In 2018, after years of building her own businesses innetwork marketing and health and wellness, LeeAnne Hayden went back tocorporate America. Not because she wanted to. Because she and John were movingto Manhattan and they needed stability. She got a great sales job working withprivate equity firms. And then she walked into a cubicle with an ostomy thatwas two years old and had absolutely no idea what was coming. This episode is the honest version of what working in anoffice with an ostomy actually looked like. The rumbling in quiet meetings. The moment a colleague thought someone's phone was vibrating. The slow erosion of confidence in a woman who had always been one of the most confident people inany room. And the Friday afternoon at 3pm that changed everything. But this episode is also about what came after. TheHollister ambassadorship. The Beautiful Bag podcast. Getting back into health and wellness. Building Heritage Club. Everything that has happened in the seven years since she walked out of that Manhattan office - because she walked out ofit. In this episode: ·  How LeeAnne accidentally fell into network marketing afterfitness competitions in 2012 ·  Building a team of 12,000 people - and then joining Tyra Banks's cosmetics line ·  What happened when Tyra shut the doors and LeeAnne had to figure out what came next ·  Why she went back to corporate America in 2018 - the honestfinancial reason ·  What it actually felt like to have an ostomy in a Manhattancubicle at two years out ·  The meeting where Ivan rumbled and a colleague thought someone's phone was vibrating ·  How the slow erosion of confidence plays out in a corporateenvironment when your body is unpredictable ·  The Friday at 3pm - leaving early, getting called into theboss's office on Monday, and knowing it was over ·  What working for yourself has given back that corporate tookaway ·  Why structured freedom is everything Workingfor yourself does not give you control. It gives you something better. It gives you ownership. When things go wrong in your own business - they are yours to fix. When things go right - they are yours to keep. Why I Came Back And Why Everything Is Changing

It has been over a year. And I am not apologizing for it. When I stepped away from The Beautiful Bag, I did not plan for it to be this long. What started as a summer break turned into something more, a blockage that took me offline for sixweeks last October, a business I was growing, and a quiet but persistent feeling that something inside the show needed to shift before I opened my mouth again. The Beautiful Bag has always been more than an ostomy podcast. It was the doorway to community, tohonesty, to the 2am conversations that reminded all of us we were not alone. But over this past year, something kept happening. Women who had never had anostomy started finding me. They were asking the same questions our community. has always asked: how do I feel like myself again? How do I get my life back? Conversations about hormones, surgical menopause, reinvention, building a business, what 55 actually lookslike they kept coming up, and they did not fit inside The Beautiful Bag. So I. had to figure out how to make the show bigger without leaving anyone behind. I finally figured it out. And that is why I am back. In this episode: ·  Why it has been over a year the honest version, including ablockage that took her offline for six weeks ·  What started shifting inside The Beautiful Bag and why the showstarted to feel too small ·  The 2am DMs that kept her going every time she thought aboutwalking away ·  Why the ostomy was always the doorway not the wholeconversation ·  The name change: The Beautiful Bag becomes Beautifully Whole ·  What Beautifully Whole covers going forward: Midlife Life,Advocacy, and Building ·  Why nothing is going away every episode, every guest, everystory stays ·  What it actually looks like to reinvent your life at 55 The Beautiful Bag is not going away. Ostomy guests are still coming. The community still has a home here. The umbrella is just getting wider. Welcome to Beautifully Whole.
