    297. Mindful Urge Management (Pillar Two of Quitting Porn)

Urges are not something you have to fear or fight against. In this second episode of a four-part series on the pillars needed to overcome pornography, I talk about mindful urge management and how learning to work with your urges can help you stop feeling controlled by them. I explain why resisting urges or reacting to them often keeps you stuck, and why learning to allow them without pushing them away or giving in can help you build confidence in your ability to experience discomfort. We’ll explore the difference between an urge and the meaning you assign to it, and why neutralizing your urges is an important part of changing your relationship with them. You’ll learn how to change your relationship with urges, why getting out of your head and into your body can help you process discomfort differently, and how learning from slip-ups can help you create new results. This episode will help you understand your urges in a new way and develop the skills to respond with more awareness and intention. 293. Why Accepting Yourself Makes Change Easier

What if accepting yourself can actually be the thing that helps you change? In this episode, I talk about why self-acceptance can feel confusing when you’re trying to quit pornography or become a better version of yourself. It can seem like accepting where you are means giving up, but the opposite is often true. I explain why the more you accept yourself, the easier it becomes to change, and why shame, defeat, and feeling like you’re not good enough often make it harder to take sustainable action. We’ll explore the difference between acceptance and justification, and why changing from a place of self-love creates a stronger foundation for growth. You’ll learn why acceptance is not the same as staying stuck, how your thoughts and emotions influence the actions you take, and how practicing self-acceptance can help you create lasting change. This episode will help you shift from fighting yourself to supporting yourself as you work toward the life you want. 292. You’re Worthy Right Now

What if you didn’t have to change anything about yourself to be worthy? In this episode, I talk about why so many of us believe we have to earn worthiness through our actions, accomplishments, or the changes we make. But worthiness doesn’t come from your circumstances, your past, or what you do. It comes from the way you think about yourself. I share why feeling worthy isn’t something you achieve after you quit porn or create the life you want, but something that helps you create those results. When you operate from a belief that you are not enough, shame keeps you stuck. When you learn to believe that you are worthy right now, you can show up for yourself from a place of love instead of trying to prove that you are good enough. You’ll learn why worthiness is not dependent on your actions, how changing the way you see yourself can change the way you approach quitting porn, and why believing you are enough can become the foundation for meaningful change. This episode will help you practice seeing yourself through a new lens and recognize the possibility that your struggles do not change your worth. 291. Using Your Sexuality for Good with Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife

Could your sexuality be something you learn to embrace instead of something you need to fear or control? In this episode, I talk with Dr. Jennifer Finlayson-Fife, a psychologist and teacher who helps people work through sexuality and develop healthier, more intimate relationships. We discuss moving beyond the idea that sexuality is simply something to manage or suppress and exploring how it can create connection, strength, and goodness in our lives. Jennifer shares why sexual shame often creates more fear and disconnection, and why the goal is not to reject our sexuality but to learn how to relate to it in a way that aligns with our values. We discuss what it means to make thoughtful choices, see yourself as the architect of your life, and move from “I can’t” toward “I’m choosing.” You’ll learn how to reframe your relationship with your sexuality, why shame can make it harder to make wise choices, and how embracing your sexual nature can help you create a life that reflects who you want to be. Jennifer also shares a powerful perspective on moving from fear and prohibition toward intentionality, self-respect, and love.
