    Life's Lessons - With Jamey & Kelly | Be The Church | Week 3

    Some of the most confusing moments in Christian life happen when a person’s gift still seems powerful, but their life tells a different story. We dig into Romans 11:29 and the phrase “the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable,” clarifying what Paul is talking about, and then asking the uncomfortable follow-up: if God doesn’t revoke a gift, what does he hold us responsible for? That leads us straight into fruit, character, and why “ministry success” is a terrible scoreboard for spiritual health. From there, we turn to Jude’s challenge to contend for the faith and the Bible’s repeated insistence that following Jesus is not passive. We connect Jude with Nehemiah 4:14 and the image of rebuilding while staying armed, then bring it down to everyday life: marriage, parenting, and the subtle drift that happens when we assume things are “neutral.” We share a real moment where a simple TV commercial opened a bigger conversation at home, and why faithfulness is built in those ordinary decisions. We close with 1 Peter 3:15 and the call to be ready to explain the hope within us. We talk about being witnesses, not judges, why our confidence is in Jesus rather than our goodness, and what it looks like to actually pray with people on the spot instead of only saying we will.     Sunday | Be The Church | Jamey Bridges | Week 3

    The middle of a hard season has a special way of messing with your head. You prayed, you obeyed, you tried to do the right thing and yet nothing has shifted. If you’ve been asking, “How does this end?” this message is for you, because the truth is you might not even be able to imagine the best parts of the ending yet. We start with an unforgettable story from baseball: Justin Verlander’s final game ends with a surprise moment involving his seven-year-old daughter, a reminder that the most meaningful pieces of a story often do not exist when the story begins. From there, we land in the book of Jude and his urgent call to “contend for the faith.” We talk about why contending is hardest in the in-between, and what it looks like to return to what you believe when life feels confusing. We also dig into practical spiritual disciplines that keep you steady: understanding Scripture, refusing to compromise biblical truth, and recognizing the lies that tend to whisper loudest when your story feels unfinished. You’ll also hear why discernment matters when people offer advice that pulls you away from Jesus, how God can use pressure to form endurance and character, and why worship before the breakthrough is a bold act of trust. We close with a reminder you are not meant to fight alone, and that Jesus is already at the end of your story, even when you cannot see it yet.     Life's Lessons - With Jamey & Kelly | King Jesus or Just A Savior | Be The Church | Week 2

    Video is coming to the podcast, but the bigger question is whether we’re willing to be seen living what we say we believe. We start with some real-life catch up, then shift into week two of our “Be The Church” series with a direct look at Luke 9:23. Jesus doesn’t offer a life upgrade he offers a new life, and his invitation comes with verbs: deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow. We talk about the difference between adding Jesus to an already crowded schedule and giving Jesus the blank check of our allegiance. “Lord Jesus Christ” isn’t just a phrase we toss around it’s a claim that Jesus is King. That raises uncomfortable but necessary questions about obedience, repentance, and why basic Christian convictions can feel “radical” in a culture that expects faith to stay private and painless. We also push back on the idea that the church got too political, arguing that politics has gotten too spiritual as moral issues replace real policy conversations. From prosperity-gospel expectations to the fan vs follower gap, we name the traps that keep people stuck in a cycle of crisis faith, “genie Jesus,” and a customized version of God built from opinions instead of Scripture. We close with practical discipleship takeaways: Sabbath rhythms, putting the phone down, rebuilding quiet time, and letting God’s Word form us when life gets hard.     Sunday | Be The Church | Pastor Jamey | Week 2

    Jesus says “anyone can follow me” and that is the best news in the world. But He also tells us what following really looks like: deny yourself, take up your cross daily, and follow me (Luke 9:23). We go straight at the version of Christianity that treats Jesus like a blank check and replaces it with the daily surrender He actually asks for. Anyone means anyone, no matter your past, but there is not a second tier of discipleship where we keep control and still call it faith. We break down the difference between denying yourself and taking up your cross. Denial is surrendering your will and letting Jesus lead. The cross is accepting the cost that comes with that surrender, even when it hits comfort, reputation, relationships, or opportunity. We talk about why altar moments matter, but why discipleship has to keep showing up on Monday, not just in a room on Sunday. We also dig into how the word of God shapes purity, how identity in Christ outlasts every title we carry, and why grace never means making peace with the sin Jesus died to free us from. Then we land on a calling the church cannot dodge: reconciliation. Using 2 Corinthians 2 and Romans 12, we talk about forgiveness that is honest, comfort that helps restoration, and what it means to be a safe landing place for repentant people. Reconciled people reconcile, and Jesus says our love is how the world recognizes His disciples.     Sunday | Be The Church | Pastor Jamey | Week 1

    Church can become a place we attend and critique, or it can become the people we are when Monday hits. We sit down with a challenging message from Life Community Church that pushes past comfortable routines and asks a sharper question: does your life actually look like someone who follows Jesus? We talk about “being the church” as a daily mission, not a Sunday schedule. That means shifting from “come and see” to “go and tell,” letting our faith show up in real relationships, and telling our story before we hand someone an invite. We get practical about consistency, credibility, and why a lifestyle of Christian discipleship should make the people around us curious. Then we zoom out to disciple making and multiplication, using the pattern of Paul, Timothy, and “trustworthy people” as a blueprint for how the church grows across generations. We also name a threat that can quietly poison community and stunt spiritual growth: pride.     Sunday | Guest Speaker | Micah Mac | Final Words | September 13

    One unexpected voicemail turns into a permanent memory and it forces a question most of us would rather skip: if you only had one set of final words, would they match the way you lived? We start with a story that feels almost cinematic, a summer night, a bagpipe playing “Amazing Grace,” and a call that becomes a goodbye. From there, we sit with how fragile life really is and why legacy is built in ordinary choices long before a hospital room or funeral. Then we open Joshua 24 and follow Joshua’s final words as he gathers everyone, not to celebrate his success, but to retell the faithfulness of God. We talk about what it means to gather your family around the story of God instead of building your own empire, and we get practical with habits that actually stick: a daily Bible reading plan through Psalms, Proverbs, and the Gospels, plus the simple discipline of making church a priority so your home stays anchored. We also go straight at the hard stuff: generational sin, patterns that repeat, and what it looks like to “throw it away” and choose a new direction through the grace of Jesus.
