A CONVERSATION WITH SALLY LEYDON (THE DISAPPEARANCE OF MARION BARTER)

In 1997, Marion Barter disappeared after leaving on a solo trip to Europe. Nearly three decades later her daughter, Sally Leydon, is still searching for answers. We sat down with Sally to hear her perspective on her mother’s disappearance; and to correct the record on some of the details surrounding the case. Sally shares what she remembers about the weeks and months leading up to her mother's disappearance, and all that's happened since she vanished. We discuss the investigation, the latest million-dollar update, possible developments in the case, and the questions that have remained unanswered for nearly 30 years. After our original coverage of Marion’s disappearance, Sally reached out to us to correct some of the information we had shared and to tell her side of the story. This conversation was our opportunity to hear directly from the woman who has spent almost three decades living with the disappearance of her mum. What happened to Marion Barter; and what does her daughter want people to know about her case? Listen to Sally’s story in this very special episode of Crime Family. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF CHARLES HORVATH-ALLAN (SEASON FINALE, PART 3)

In our three-part season finale miniseries, we explore cases of travellers who go missing while abroad. In the third and final part, we go back to the summer of 1989, when 20-year-old Charles Horvath-Allan embarked on what was meant to be a life-changing trip across Canada. Drawn to the freedom of the road, he eventually made his way to Kelowna, British Columbia where he settled into the city’s backpacker scene—taking on odd jobs and meeting fellow travelers.  Then, without warning, he disappeared. Charles was last known to be staying at the "Tiny Tent Town" campground, surrounded by a transient community where people came and went without much trace.  Over time, troubling questions began to surface. Who did Charles meet in those final days? Did he cross paths with someone dangerous? And how could someone vanish so completely without any explanation? For decades, the case has remained unsolved—but his mother never stopped searching. Her determination would eventually uncover overlooked details and reignite hope for answers. In this episode, we retrace Charles’ final known movements, examine the theories, and explore a disappearance that continues to raise more questions than answers over 30 years later. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300, or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-8477. THE LOST GIRLS OF PANAMA (SEASON FINALE, PART 2)

In our three-part season finale miniseries, we explore cases of travellers who go missing while abroad.  In April 2014, Dutch tourists Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon set out on a hike just outside Boquete, Panama—a scenic, well-traveled trail that should have taken only a few hours. They were never seen again. What followed was a desperate search that ended in a series of chilling discoveries: a backpack found deep in the jungle, their phones showing repeated, failed emergency calls, and a camera containing dozens of unsettling nighttime photos taken days after they disappeared. Authorities ultimately ruled the case a tragic accident. But lingering questions—and disturbing details—have led many to suspect something far more sinister. In part two of our finale miniseries, we break down the timeline, the evidence, and the competing theories behind one of the most haunting disappearances in recent memory. As this case proved, sometimes the truth is harder to find than the missing. Anyone with more information about this case is asked to call the non-emergency number of the Boquete Police at 507-720-1222. THE DISAPPEARANCE OF LIAM TOMAN

In the early hours of February 2, 2025, 22-year-old Liam Toman went missing during a ski weekend at Mont Tremblant. Shortly after 3 a.m., he left a nearby bar and began the brief walk back to his hotel. CCTV footage shows him moving through the resort village, appearing to head toward his hotel. Yet despite multiple cameras along the route, there is no record of him ever entering the building.  One final moment—taking place just steps from where he was staying—is where the timeline stops.  His phone stayed active for around 15 hours, connecting to a nearby cell tower in the resort area, but it was never recovered. Seven weeks later, his wallet was discovered near a parking lot close to his last known location. Extensive searches yielded nothing further—no belongings, no trail, and no explanation for what happened in those final moments. In this episode, we explore the verified timeline, the eerie CCTV footage of his last movements, the people who may have been the last to see him, and the possible scenarios for how Liam Toman disappeared without a trace. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Sûreté du Québec at 1-800-659-4264 and anyone who was in Mont-Tremblant from January 31-February 3, 2025 is asked to check their photos, videos, dashcams, home security, and conversations for anything that could help.  Please share his story and use the hashtags #BringLiamHome, #FindLiamToman, and #Together.
