    Welcome back to the Dogtrack, Greyhounds! In this episode Marisa, Christian, and Brett have a conversation about Season 3, Episode 1: Smells Like Mean Spirit. The first episode of season three is a bit of a subdued number that sets the table for the show's brilliant and emotional third act. We chat about our expectations going into season three, where we find our favorite characters at the beginning of this season, and relish the fact that there is so much soccer stuff to nerd out about in this episode and this season. Additionally, we appreciate how much Hannah Waddingham is filmed eating, note the differences between U.S. and British referential humor, wax philosophical on some Goethe, and share our thoughts on the musical choices and placements in this episode.     KG • Paul on Ted Lasso

    Welcome to the Crown & Anchor, Greyhounds! In this episode Marisa, Christian, and Brett have a conversation with KG, who is known for his portrayal of beloved pub crew member Paul on Ted Lasso. Kevin ‘KG’ Garry is here, there, and everywhere when it comes to creative projects. He's got his own YouTube channel, he’s the co-host of the boxing-focused Undefeated Podcast with fellow comedian and collaborator Travis Jay, and he frequently appears on the massive Manchester United YouTube channel The United Stand. In addition to staying very busy online, KG works as a comedian and actor, and has appeared on shows like the paramedic comedy Bloods on Sky One, the sketch comedy show Famalam on BBC, and the Black Stories edition of Drunk History on Comedy Central. He’s also a huge sports fan and an integral part of our favorite show, and we are so excited to share this conversation with y'all, Greyhounds! In this episode Christian and Brett have a conversation with sports journalist Alex McDaniel about their shared trust in the show's creators to end the series well. Alex is the Managing Editor at USA Today’s For The Win - a social news hub that focuses on sports and entertainment. Of course, Alex is also a huge, huge fan of Ted Lasso, too. She’s written about Ted Lasso at For The Win, and had the opportunity to interview principal cast members for the site. Alex co-hosts Ted Lasso-centered episodes for the Big Screen Sports podcast. Julie is a Canadian journalist who has predominantly covered soccer and hockey for Fubo Sports, ESPN, CBS and Fox Sports. She’s what one might call ubiquitous in the sports reporting world.     A Guide to Midwestern Conversation (with Taylor Kay Philips)

    Welcome to the Crown & Anchor, Greyhounds! In this episode Christian and Brett have a conversation about Ted Lasso and the midwest's unique conversational style with author and comedy writer Taylor Kay Philips. Taylor currently writes for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO, and her work has also appeared in publications like the The New Yorker and McSweeney’s. (Note: as of this publication, the 2023 WGA labor union strike, which affects Taylor and her colleagues, is ongoing. We support the WGA in their ongoing negotiations with the AMPTP.) And though she currently lives and works in the New York City, Taylor originally hails from the Barbecue Capital of the World, Kansas City, and is a true midwesterner at heart! She loves the midwest so much, in fact, that she wrote a book called A Guide to Midwestern Conversation, which is a hilarious and heartfelt homage to the the midwest’s particular brand of communication. Of course, Taylor’s a massive fan of Ted Lasso, too.     Welcome to Schmicago! (with Cinco Paul)

    Welcome to the Crown & Anchor, Greyhounds! In this episode Marisa, Christian, and Brett have a conversation with Cinco Paul, the co-creator, executive producer, songwriter, and showrunner of Schmigadoon. In addition to Schmigadoon, Cinco Paul is also known for his work as a screenwriter for beloved films like Horton Hears a Who, The Lorax, The Secret Life of Pets, and the Despicable Me trilogy – all of which he worked on with his longtime friend and collaborator Ken Daurio. For the uninitiated, Schmigadoon is a musical comedy television series that centers on the relationship of two NYC doctors, Josh and Melissa – played by Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong, respectively. The show is a brilliant love letter to musical theater which also cleverly parodies many of the genre’s most recognizable features through hilarious and heartfelt performances from the A-list cast of musical theatre stars. We here at Richmond Til We Die are huge fans of Schmigadoon. Luckily, Cinco’s a big fan of Ted Lasso too, and so we were thrilled to have an opportunity to chat with the man who helped create another one of our favorite shows!
