The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi

I’m just here to say make Yamanieka permanent party. We needed this episode for the earth to begin healing.

Look I absolutely loved some guests and there are truly hilarious moments. Unfortunately hypocrisy has a certain stank to it and while I agree with Gianmarco’s critiques of Theo Von, Gianmarco’s starting to stink too. Gianmarco railed against those comedic idiots that platformed politicians/fascists and rightfully so. He spent a really long time on all those sellouts that went to Riyadh and his girlfriend was right to point out when you talk about “coworkers” like that don’t expect to have a lot of friends. That said he was right to make fun of and talk about it. All that to say Gianmarco (and Russ) you ridiculous hypocritical fools. Now I was kind of worried when you brought on a fellow comedian and commiserated over being too left to have a bigger conservative audience. That was weird and so Dave Chappelle “I’m worried about my bottom line” coded. It was also weird when Jim Norton came on and spewed such both sidesy, “I’m apolitical” proto fascist nonsense and you didn’t really push back then. The final straw was the John Cameron Mitchell episode. You do not have to be a historian to know the civil war was absolutely fought over slavery. The fact both Gianmarco and Russ just sat there and let John just spew that racist, white washed confederate propaganda that the civil war was about economics and offered zero corrections/pushback let’s me know it’s time to stop listening. Apparently that wasn’t the only incorrect thing John said on that episode. I had hoped that their ridicule of Theo Von and Andrew Schulz, and their no politicians rule meant they were at least a touch more self aware but sadly that has proven not to be the case. So long, it was fun for a little bit. Hopefully they get better

I love this podcast, keep it up! Russel seems like that friend in middle school that’s the new kid and probably had a very normal life until he met Gianmarco and just destroyed whatever innocence was left in him, love you guys so much, so hilarious!
