    04: Failing Forward

    04: Failing Forward

In this episode, Darwin and co-host Einstein discuss a challenge many who pursue an adventurous lifestyle deal with, but rarely talk about: failure. We all have expectations going into a thru-hike, bike-tour, or any adventure. When we aren't able to achieve those goals, how can we move forward in a positive direction? If everyone fails, why are we still hesitant to talk about and share our failures with the community?

    03: Dear Outdoor Influencer

In this episode, Darwin is joined again by co-host Emory Wanger to discuss the relationship between the outdoor industry and social media influencers. As the outdoor community becomes more and more saturated with influencers trading content for free products, are they training companies to take advantage of a creator's true worth? What happens when a creator turns their passion into a career and can't pay their bills with a free tent?

    01: You Don't Know Me

    01: You Don't Know Me

In this episode, Darwin and co-host Emory Wanger of the By Land Podcast explore the strange relationship that can form between media creators and their audience, and the effect it can have on the creators themselves. People who make videos, music, podcasts, and other forms of media can sometimes be put into a box by their audience. What happens when those audiences get a little too comfortable with their expectations for what their favorite creators should be doing?

Love the real talk of these podcasts.

Long time follower that appreciates getting to hear more from the heart of Darwin and his guests as they discuss the REAL issues, facts, and nuances of the outdoors and all things relating to them as a lifestyle. I like this different take for Darwin on getting his thoughts out there. These are well done, and I appreciate the time and effort that are put into making them. Good stuff.

Love the new direction.

Not all of Darwin’s followers will appreciate the content of these podcasts, but these are discussions that need to happen. Darwin seems to be plucking topics right out of my head. These are things that I have been thinking about as I schedule hikes or as I am trying to teach my son about being a responsible hiker. The conversations are helping me to think about outdoor use and stewardship in new and creative ways and while my sphere of influence may be small, I see that I can be a more positive force for change. Thanks Darwin.
