    Welcome back to Audiothentic, in this episode I had the unique opportunity of interviewing the executive director of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Edmonton region, Giri Puligandla. Giri describes the journey he took to becoming executive director and his well-established and sincere passion for mental health. Additionally, we discuss what CMHA is currently working on as a response to the pandemic and acknowledge the impact that it has had on the mental health and morale of our country and the world at large.   Finally, we discuss the event that we hosted together, on September 10th, for World Suicide Prevention Day. This event was a collaboration with the Living Hope, the Edmonton Downtown Business Association and CMHA, in hopes of spreading awareness and offering support to our community’s collective response to suicide. Councillor Scott McKeen and his policy advisor, Rebecca Visscher.    We discuss their views on politics and its impact on authenticity. Furthermore, Scott reveals why he has decided to now step down from his role as Councillor and what he plans to do next. Additionally, we discuss their mental health initiatives and how they feel about their own authenticity in their own lives.    Furthermore, both Scott and Rebecca offer advice on how they have found fulfillment and mindfulness in their lives and provide personal experiences of expressing their individuality in a world that tries to make us like everybody else.     Why Authenticity?

    In this episode of Audiothentic, we will explore reasons for why I felt so compelled to start an ongoing podcast about this topic and why I feel that it is so important to discuss. We dive deeper into various insights made by poets and playwrights, such as E. E. Cummings and William Shakespeare also that of German philosophers Heidegger and Nietzsche. Finally, will look into why authenticity leads to a more genuine and fruitful life and, in a more general sense, we make further strides in fortifying a community of authentic thinkers.
