Book Club | Rosie Nixon | The PRO Method - three simple steps

What if reaching breaking point isn’t a crisis - but a calling to change? In this episode recorded live in the Brooklands Radio studio, Michelle is joined by author, coach and former HELLO! magazine Editor-in-Chief Rosie Nixon to discuss her powerful new book, The PRO Method: Three Simple Steps to Reinvent Your Life. After years at the helm of one of Britain’s best-known magazines, Rosie was diagnosed with psychological exhaustion. Taking time away from a demanding career allowed her to reconsider how she was living and working - and ultimately inspired a major personal and professional reinvention. Drawing on that experience, her training as a life coach and the science behind navigating change, Rosie created the PRO Method: Pause – calm the nervous system and create space to reset Reflect – identify what matters and what may need to change Organise – turn those discoveries into realistic, achievable plans Rosie and Michelle talk candidly about burnout, overwhelm and the pressure to keep going - even when our minds and bodies are telling us to stop. They explore why pausing can feel so uncomfortable, how midlife can become an opportunity for reinvention and why meaningful change doesn’t have to mean blowing up your entire life. Warm, honest and filled with practical advice, this conversation is for anyone who feels exhausted, stuck at a crossroads or ready to find a different way forward. The PRO Method by Rosie Nixon is out now, published by HarperCollins. This interview was first broadcast on Brooklands Radio in September 2026. Book Club | Adele Parks | Eyes On You

Adele Parks on Eyes on You, the Power of Words and Her 26th Novel Michelle welcomes bestselling author Adele Parks MBE back to Book Club to talk about Eyes on You, her gripping 26th novel. Having interviewed Adele several times over the years, there’s an easy familiarity to this conversation as they discuss her remarkable writing career, her enduring love of words and how she continues to find fresh ideas and themes after more than two decades as a published author. Eyes on You is a compelling psychological thriller exploring grief, obsession, isolation, revenge and the secrets that shape our lives. At 15, Amy witnessed her father murder his secret lover. Years later, when Oliver Harrington walks into the restaurant where she works, their shared understanding of troubled pasts creates an immediate connection - but is it love, or something altogether more dangerous? Adele also talks passionately about her work supporting literacy and why helping people discover the joy and power of reading remains so important to her. And, of course, Adele shares the book she thinks everyone should read - but what will her recommendation be? This interview originally aired on Michelle’s Book Club on Brooklands Radio. Book Club | TM Logan | The Weekend

What would you do if you found a backpack containing thousands of pounds in cash? That’s the moral dilemma at the heart of T.M. Logan’s gripping psychological thriller The Weekend - a story about friendship, secrets, temptation and how quickly everything can unravel when money enters the equation. In this episode of Book Club | Michelle Ford Interviews, I’m joined by Sunday Times bestselling author T.M. Logan to talk about his latest thriller, The Weekend. Six old friends head to a converted farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales for a New Year’s Eve weekend. During a walk, they’re caught in a storm and take shelter in an old lead mine. There, they make an extraordinary discovery: a backpack containing more money than they’ve ever seen. Of course, they know they should hand it straight to the police. But as the storm continues and the weekend unfolds, temptation starts to take hold. Each of the friends has their own problems — debt, obsession, career worries and secrets — and suddenly that seemingly simple decision becomes much more complicated. As cracks begin to appear in the friendships, The Weekend becomes a tense exploration of trust, betrayal, greed, friendship and the choices we make when we think nobody is watching. T.M. Logan is the Sunday Times bestselling author of The Holiday, The Curfew, The Catch, The Daughter, Lies and 29 Seconds. His thrillers have sold more than three million copies in the UK and have been translated into more than 20 languages. The Holiday was selected for the Richard & Judy Book Club and adapted into a four-part television drama, while The Catch was also adapted for television. In our conversation, we talk about the fascinating “what would you do?” dilemma at the centre of The Weekend, the psychology of temptation, whether we ever really know our closest friends, and why moral grey areas make such compelling thriller territory. T.M. has said that the idea was inspired partly by his fascination with the choices people make when faced with a difficult moral dilemma - and by thrillers such as Scott Smith’s A Simple Plan. The Weekend is out now in hardback, paperback, ebook and audiobook. 🎙️ About Book Club | Michelle Ford InterviewsBook Club | Michelle Ford Interviews brings you conversations with bestselling authors about their books, the stories behind them and the ideas that make us want to keep turning the pages. Book Club | Dame Stella Rimington | The Hidden Hand

📚 Dame Stella Rimington on The Hidden Hand In this very special episode of Michelle Ford Interviews, Michelle revisits her first ever Book Club conversation, recorded in January 2025 with Dame Stella Rimington, the pioneering former Director General of MI5, about her final novel, The Hidden Hand. The novel is a gripping contemporary spy thriller set partly at Oxford University, where a Chinese study centre is secretly recruiting students to steal valuable research and intellectual property. When the centre's new head discovers its sinister purpose, he turns to CIA agent Manon Tyler for help. With her extraordinary career inside MI5 - including becoming the first woman to serve as Director General - Stella brought a unique authenticity to her espionage fiction. What makes this interview particularly poignant is that Dame Stella sadly died in August 2025, aged 90, just seven months after this conversation was recorded. It is therefore a privilege to be able to share one of her final conversations, in which Michelle talks to her about writing, espionage, her remarkable career and The Hidden Hand. This interview marked the beginning of Michelle's Book Club on Brooklands Radio, where Michelle continues to chat to authors every Thursday afternoon. 🎧 Listen to the full conversation on Michelle Ford Interviews wherever you get your podcasts. Book Club | A A Dhand | The Chemist & The Kingpin

📚 A.A. Dhand on The Chemist & The Kingpin In this episode of Michelle Ford Interviews, Michelle chats to Sunday Times bestselling crime writer A.A. Dhand about his gripping Idris Khan series, The Chemist and its explosive sequel, The Kingpin. The Chemist introduces Idris Khan, a respected pharmacist in Leeds who dispenses methadone and knows far more about his patients - and the secrets they carry - than anyone might imagine. When his childhood sweetheart fails to turn up for her daily dose, Idris goes looking for her and finds himself caught in the middle of a dangerous turf war between Yorkshire drug cartels. In The Kingpin, Idris is changed by what has happened to him. When his estranged brother Zidane arrives fresh out of prison with an audacious plan to take control of the drug trade across Leeds and Bradford, Idris faces an even bigger choice: walk away or become the very thing he's always feared - the Kingpin. Michelle and Amit talk about crime, drugs, morality, family, the darker side of Yorkshire and the real-life experiences that helped inspire the novels. Having worked as a pharmacist himself, Dhand drew on what he witnessed during years working at the sharp end of community pharmacy to create the world of Idris. If you love crime fiction, psychological thrillers, gritty British crime, Yorkshire noir and fast-paced, twisty storytelling, this is one to add to your listening list.
