Macarons, the Oilers Hometown Remix jersey, and space talk

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed macarons, posting risky pics on Instagram, the Oilers' success, and much more. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about macaroons after a certain hockey player accidentally posted a risky picture on Instagram by mistake. Somehow talking about macarons led the boys to talk about how Tyler cooks bacon, Wanye not wearing underwear, and hot yoga. How did this all happen? No one knows for sure, but that didn't stop the start of this week's Real Life from being all over the map. Changing gears, the guys looked back at Halloween and what it's like taking the little ones out trick-or-treating and seeing the world through a child's eyes. Jay also told a story of interacting with a 20-something over Halloween weekend, and how he could barely understand anything the kid was saying. Sticking with Halloween, Tyler and Baggedmilk walked through a few stories from Ryder & Lisa's party and how much fun it was to hang out with Nation staff in such an absurd situation. The guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with the Edmonton Elks taking on the BC Lions in the Western Final and how Commonwealth Stadium could see its biggest crowd in nearly a decade. They also discussed Tyler's new fascination with space, and how he is even considering a telescope to dive even deeper into the unknown. Finally, the guys wrapped up the podcast with some Oilers talk, most notably the small disagreement between Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Hockey dads, Brewers win the World Series, and the Battle of Alberta attendance

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed hockey parenting, Amazon Prime, the Glen Sather interview, and much more. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about Patrick Stewart passing away, and how a lot of kids these days wouldn't even know him from his major role on Star Trek compared to being Charles Xavier on X-Men. After two seconds on Captain Pickard, the boys pivoted immediately Wanye's first foray into being a hockey parent. As you'll hear, Wanye Jr. has taken to the sport like gangbusters, and it was fascinating to hear how being a new hockey dad has affected him. Changing gears, the guys looked at a judge in Milwaukee declaring that it would be acceptable to wear Brewers gear in court from now until the end of their World Series parade. That led the boys to wonder what Edmonton might be like if the Oilers are able to win a Stanley Cup. Would the city shut down? How long for? Nobody knows for sure, but what everyone agreed on is that the city will be a madhouse. That led to a discussion about last night's Battle of Alberta on Amazon, and how the games on Prime can fine but just different enough to feel weird. The guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with a look at the Glen Sather interview from the intermission, and whether players should be involved in team decision making. They also discussed the in-feed ads that Amazon has during the game, and how it's wild that you can order things right from your TV while you're watching a hockey game. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday show with a round of Chalmer's winter prep for your home. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Tyler's birthday getaway, fantasy football, and Senators fans vs. Brady Tkachuk

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed Tyler's birthday trip to Las Vegas, the football fantasy league, timeless tickets, and the Edmonton Oilers. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a conversation about Ron Duguay's passing and his legendary dating list. From there, the guys pivoted to a look at the Norm MacDonald documentary that landed on Netflix this past week, and how he was one of the best to ever do it. Next up, Tyler recapped his surprise trip down to Vegas that his wife planned for his birthday, including ending up in a suite for the Bills game and watching a quarter from field level. Changing gears, the guys looked at the Real Life Fantasy Football League, and how Baggedmilk is apparently ruining the sanctity of the league. Yet, as you'll hear, Baggedmilk is 5-1-0 in the league despite never checking his lineups, which is good for a first place tie. Is BM actually ruining the league or should he get credit for drafting well in the first place? Sticking with sports, the guys spent a few minutes talking about the Timeless Ticket controversy in Milwaukee after the Brewers seemingly changed the rules for how those lifetime passes were used. The guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with a look at Leon Draisaitl being sassy interviews. After being asked if the team changes their style mid-game, Draisaitl's response drew an interesting reaction from the fanbase about whether these guys should be asked tactics questions in the first place. Finally, the podcast wrapped with a run of Beefs of the Week that ranged from Sens fans vs. Brady Tkachuk to Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Player endorsements, signs at Oilers games, and youth hockey

Thursday afternoon means a fresh episode of Real Life was recorded and edited, and it's ready to help you wrap up the week with another dose of nonsense and shenanigans. On this week's episode of Real Life, the guys discussed the Oilers' three-game winning streak, games behind a paywall, and baseball foul ball etiquette. The guys kicked off this week's episode of Real Life with a recap of the Oilers' three-game winning streak and how the last three games have been a marked change from the season opener. The guys then dug into a tweet Tyler put out on Saturday that highlighted Yaremchuk math in the best possible way. As you'll hear, multiplying games by two points to figure out potential points totals can be trickier than you'd think. From there, the guys spoke about Monday night games being put behind a paywall, and how the NHL seems hell bent on making it as hard as possible to watch. Changing gears, Wanye wanted to talk about the Gavin McKenna ad with Rogers, and whether the league will ever clamp down on players doing deals, especially with rights holders. That led to some of the shady deals that have come out in the NBA over the years, and whether the NHL is just the next league to get caught for shady dealings. That led to Chalmers talking about Jalen Brunson hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, and how it was fun to see an athlete put himself out there like he did. Finally, the guys wrapped up the Thursday episode of Real Life with random collection of topics, starting with Chalmers' history lesson of loving SNL. That led the guys to wonder how much these folks make, and how intense the schedule can be. From there, the guys discussed a baseball controversy after a Dodgers fan who caught a foul ball refused to give it to a young fan from a section over. Lastly, the conversation turned to when it's appropriate to bring a sign to an Oilers game, and if there are any rules for the signs that must be abided by. Hosted on Acast.
