Made Remarkable with Kellee Wynne

Kellee Wynne

I'm finally back with my 4th season! After a long break to take time for my mental health and healing, I'm back because, now more than ever, how important the connection we have is. Our network of artists, makers, creatives, visionaries and guides that spans across the globe is exactly what we need at this moment of time. As always, I'm showing up as myself, raw, authentic, a bit sassy and with a whole lot of love. Now, even less polished as I'm running the show without a producer. This should be interesting. You can expect a lot of speaking off the cuff and from the heart mixed with creativity and the ins and outs of building a course creator business. I'll be bringing on new and old guests for deep discussions.  And new this season - a more detailed look behind the scenes of how I build my multi-six figure art course business  plus I'll be hosting roundtable discussions with the audience! How Artist Tish Reed is Building a Sustainable Art Business with Insights on YouTube, ADHD, Motherhood and Community (Ep. 149)

Artists are carrying a lot right now. Burnout. Pressure. Perfectionism. The feeling that you have to do business a certain way in order to succeed online. In this episode of the Made Remarkable podcast, I sit down with artist, teacher, and Create to Breathe founder, Tish Reed, for a deeply honest conversation about creativity, motherhood, mental health, community, teaching art online, and building a business that actually fits your life. Tish shares how she walked away from art for years after becoming a mother, the depression and creative disconnection that followed, and the powerful moment that brought her back to painting. What started as quietly writing painful thoughts onto a canvas became the foundation for the work she teaches today. We also talk about:  • Why creative play matters more than perfection  • The difference between selling art and teaching art  • How artists lose themselves trying to create for buyers  • Building a slower, more sustainable teaching business  • Why YouTube is becoming a powerful platform for artists  • The pressure of Instagram and content burnout  • ADHD, motherhood, nervous systems, and creative energy  • Letting your business grow at the pace that works for your real life  • Why Build It Remarkable is more mentorship than “course” This conversation is for artists, teaching artists, and creative educators who want to build something meaningful without becoming another exhausted content machine online. You can find Tish Reed at Create to Breathe, on YouTube at Tish Reed Art, and through her beautiful Play-ing Cards designed to help artists reconnect with creative play and presence.  For transcripts, more links mentioned in the episode, and for the full episode show notes 👉 TAP HERE Follow Kellee on Instagram @kelleewynne Follow the podcast and stay inspired @maderemarkable

What It Takes to Be a Great Art Teacher in Today’s World with Colleen Attara (Ep. 148)

Artists and creators don’t just make things. We carry things. We process, we hold, we try to make sense of a world that often feels too heavy. In this episode, I’m sitting down with Colleen Attara, one of the most impactful teachers I’ve ever experienced, to talk about what really happens inside a creative space that feels safe, honest, and alive. This is a conversation about:  what it means to be a teaching artist beyond just technique  why making art in community hits differently than doing it alone  how creativity becomes a way to come back to yourself after burnout  the role of vulnerability in both art and teaching  and why gathering, creating, and expressing yourself is not frivolous… it’s necessary We also get into the behind-the-scenes of Colleen’s workshops, her philosophy on teaching, and how something as simple as being seen can completely shift the way you create. If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your art…  if you’ve questioned whether what you’re doing even matters…  or if you know you’re meant to share your creativity with others but don’t know how… this episode will inspire you to remember who you are when you’re allowed to create freely. Stop Blending In: The Power of Teaching Your Art as Your Full Self with Becky Joan Springer (Ep. 147)

Artists and creators don’t build powerful businesses by playing it safe. They build them by telling the truth. In this episode, I’m joined by artist and teacher Becky Joan Springer, and this is one of those conversations that goes deeper than strategy. We talk about what it really looks like to build a business rooted in your identity, your values, and your lived experience, even when that comes with risk. Becky shares her journey from academia and advocacy work into the world of art, and how returning to creativity quite literally helped her rebuild her life. We talk about grief, rejection, healing, and the role art plays in bringing people back to themselves. But we also go into what most people avoid saying out loud: the fear of being seen, the backlash that can come with it, and why it’s still worth it. This conversation is about more than art. It’s about creating spaces where people feel safe, building a business that reflects who you actually are, and understanding that when you stop trying to appeal to everyone, you finally start connecting with the right people. If you’ve been holding back, softening your voice, or trying to make your work more “acceptable,” this episode will challenge that. You don’t need to be for everyone.  You need to be fully yourself. What it Really Takes to be a Good Teacher as an Art Course Creator - a Heart-to-Heart with Susan Yeates (#142)

What does it really take to be a good art teacher? In this episode, I’m talking with Susan Yates about what it means to teach from lived experience rather than performative expertise. Susan and I have a heart to heart over the experience of being an instructor and being the student again. This is an amazing discussion we haven't really had on the podcast before. We talk about the pressures to have it all figured out, why artists often feel like frauds when they step into the role of teacher, what makes a great video lesson and how important it is to reconnect with your own creativity to keep your cup full. We both agree that teaching in-person makes you better overall as an art instructor and talk about specific lessons we've learned from our students over the years. This conversation is honest, gentle, and full of the reminders we all need: your art matters, your practice is valid, and the best teaching starts with being true to yourself. If you’re a course creator, art educator, or thinking about stepping into teaching someday, this one will speak right to your heart.
