1 Peter 1:1-2 What do you do when you know God is doing something new, but you don’t quite know what the “new” looks like yet? Transition can feel lonely, uncomfortable, and even confusing. The things that once fit no longer fit. Old desires begin to change. Relationships, environments, priorities, and perspectives may start shifting. And sometimes God feels quiet in the very season when we desperately want answers. In this episode of Impact Over Influence, we walk through 1 Peter and look at believers who understood what it meant to be scattered, displaced, and in transition yet still chosen by God. We also look back at Israel’s journey out of Egypt. God didn’t simply deliver them from slavery and immediately place them in the Promised Land. There was a wilderness between where they had been and where they were going. In that wilderness, God taught them trust, dependence, obedience, and what it meant to live as His people. And maybe that’s what God is doing in some of us right now. Transition has a way of exposing what is still living in us. When the familiar disappears, we can start asking, Was the old way actually better? Should I go back? Do I really want this? But sometimes God is changing what is around us because He is changing what is within us. This conversation is about learning to stay the course when you don’t have all the answers, refusing to confuse waiting with wasting time, seeking the Holy Spirit instead of constantly outsourcing God’s voice to everyone around you, and understanding that revelation eventually requires a response. The question in transition isn’t only, “What am I leaving?” It’s also, “Who am I becoming?” God may be replacing old desires, developing deeper trust, teaching dependence, and aligning you with His purpose. Displacement does not mean abandonment. You may feel scattered—but you are not forgotten. You may feel displaced—but you are still chosen. Stay the course. God is still working in the transition.
