Instead, we love getting together with our families for a barbecue. Next time, I’ll tell you about how people in Vietnam celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival! See you next time! -- Hosting provided by SoundOn

His wife was Helen. Legend has it that Helen was the most beautiful woman in the world. One day, Prince Paris of Troy came to Sparta as an honored guest. But then something unexpected happened—Paris took Helen back to Troy with him. When King Menelaus learned what had happened, he was heartbroken and furious because his wife had left him for another man. He turned to his older brother, King Agamemnon of Mycenae, and asked for his help in bringing Helen home. King Agamemnon called upon the kings and heroes of the Greek city-states. Together, they gathered a mighty army and set sail for Troy with more than a thousand ships. But Troy was an incredibly strong and well-defended city. Its towering walls and massive gates kept the Greek army out. Time after time, they attacked, but they could not break through the city's defenses. One year passed… Five years passed… Yet the war showed no sign of ending. Before anyone realized it, ten long years had passed. Just when it seemed that all hope was lost, among the Greek allies, Odysseus, the clever King of Ithaca, came up with a bold plan. He ordered his finest carpenters to build an enormous wooden horse. The giant horse was even taller than a house. It was hollow inside, with enough room to hide many soldiers. When the wooden horse was finished, Odysseus set the next part of his clever plan in motion. The Greek army pretended to give up the war. They packed up their camp, boarded their ships, and slowly sailed away from the shore. But they hadn't truly left. Instead, they hid their ships behind a nearby island and quietly waited for night to fall. Meanwhile, the Greeks deliberately left one soldier behind. When the Trojans captured him, he pretended to be terrified and said,   「希臘人已經放棄攻打特洛伊了。」 "The Greeks have given up their attack on Troy." "They left this wooden horse as a gift to Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and prayed that she would watch over them on their journey home." "If the people of Troy bring the horse into the city, Athena will watch over Troy as well." Many of the Trojans believed what he said. Everyone cheered with joy. Just as the Trojans were about to pull the wooden horse into the city, Princess Cassandra stepped forward and warned,   「不要把木馬拉進城! "Don't bring the horse into the city! It's a trap! Troy will be destroyed if you do!" Again and again, she begged the people,   「請相信我! "Please believe me! Don't bring the horse into the city!" But no one listened to her. Everyone was caught up in the joy of victory. In the end, the Trojans slowly pulled the enormous wooden horse through the city gate. That evening, the entire city celebrated with a great feast. People sang, danced, and laughed, believing that the long war was finally over. As night grew deeper, the city slowly fell silent. Then, a faint sound came from inside the wooden horse. Hidden inside, the Greek soldiers quietly opened a secret door and climbed out one by one. They carefully made their way to the city gate and slowly opened it. At the same time, the Greek fleet, hidden nearby, sailed back to Troy under the cover of night. Agamemnon led the Greek army into the city. Caught completely off guard, the Trojans had no time to react. After ten long years of war, the mighty city of Troy had finally fallen. Homes were destroyed, countless lives were lost, and the once-great city of Troy became part of history. Even today, the story of the Trojan Horse remains one of the most famous tales in the world. Kids, this story teaches us not to let our guard down just because everything seems to be going well. Otherwise, joy can quickly turn into sorrow. Moreover, the victorious Greek alliance did not gain lasting happiness from their victory. Many soldiers had already lost their lives in battle. Others died in fierce storms on their journey home, and even those who returned safely did not always find the happy lives they had hoped for. Even Odysseus, faced countless hardships and trials. He wandered across the sea for another ten years before he was finally reunited with his family. There are no true winners in war. That is why we should treasure peace, solve problems with wisdom, and choose peace instead of war.   “There are no winners in war.” 請跟Bear老師再說一次: “There are no winners in war.” Kids, see you next time! -- Hosting provided by SoundOn

Do you hear that? What is that sound? That's the sound of cicadas. When summer arrives, cicadas begin to sing. 不會累嗎?: They've been singing all day! Don't they get tired? Maybe they do. But they've been waiting for this day for many years. Many years? But summer only lasts a few months! Did you know? Cicadas don't really live in trees. They spend most of their lives underground. Underground? Really? It's true! When cicadas are young, they're called nymphs. They live underground and feed on sap from tree roots. Some stay there for two years, some for five, and some even for more than ten years. More than ten years?! They must really want to see the world above. That's right. One day, they're finally ready. At night, they slowly crawl out of the ground. Then what happens? They find a tree and slowly climb up. Then their old shell splits open. Splits open? Like taking off a jacket? : Exactly! They leave their old shells behind and come out with a new body and transparent wings. This process is called moulting. So that's why we find empty cicada shells on trees! 知了——知了——知了—— That's right. When their wings are dry, they fly into the sky and begin to sing. Crii… Crii… Crii… Are they singing for everyone? Actually, most of the singers are male cicadas. They're saying, "I'm here! Come find me!" It's their mating song. So they're not putting on a concert! You could say that. Their audience is just other cicadas. They waited for so many years. How long do they live after they come out? Most adult cicadas live for only a few weeks. Even though their time is short, they do the most important things: sing, find a mate, and leave behind the next generation. Then the new baby cicadas return underground and begin another long wait. I see. A cicada waits for many years just to sing for one summer. So when you hear Crii… Crii… Crii…, it doesn't just mean summer has arrived. It also means one little cicada has spent years growing and waiting, and has finally welcomed its own summer. Yeah! Happy summer, little cicadas! -- Hosting provided by SoundOn

Whoosh! Strong winds began to blow, and huge waves crashed against her boat. Nüwa tried her best to row back to shore, but the waves grew bigger and bigger. In the end, the boat overturned, and she was swallowed by the sea, never able to return home. Later, Nüwa's spirit transformed into a small bird. The bird had a white beak and red feet, making it look very special. Whenever it flew across the sky, it would cry out, "Jingwei! Jingwei!" So people began to call the bird Jingwei. Whenever Jingwei remembered her fate, she felt very sad. She thought, "If the sea is so dangerous, someone else might get hurt someday." So she made an astonishing decision. She would fill up the sea! From that day on, Jingwei flew to the mountains every day, picked up a small stone or twig, then carried it to the sea and dropped it into the water. One day passed. One month passed. One year passed. Jingwei still did not give up. One day, the sea could not help asking, "Jingwei, what are you doing?" Jingwei replied, "You have already taken my life. I cannot let you harm others, so I swear I will fill you up." The sea laughed loudly. "You? Just look at how small you are! And look at how huge I am! You will never be able to fill me up!" Jingwei flapped her wings and said seriously, "Hmph! As long as I never stop, I will fill you up one day." After saying that, she flew back to the mountains and continued carrying stones and twigs. From then on, whether it was spring, summer, autumn, or winter, people could always see Jingwei flying back and forth. And so, Jingwei kept carrying stones to the sea, never stopping. If you ever see a little bird dropping a stone or a twig into the sea, it just might be Jingwei. Kids, do you think Jingwei could ever fill up the sea? Actually, the most important part of this story is not whether Jingwei succeeds in the end. What matters is that she knew it was difficult, yet she chose to keep trying. Think about it. When you are learning to ride a bicycle and keep falling down, what do you do? When you are learning to swim, learning a language, or doing your homework, and it feels very difficult, would you give up? Jingwei teaches us that some things can’t be done in a hurry. But if we improve a little every day and keep working hard, we will get closer and closer to our goals. So the next time you face a challenge, try saying to yourself, "One more try!" Kids, I hope you always have the courage to keep trying! See you next time! -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
