Every week Ali and Eli - a husband and wife duo- will bring you either a Cold Case or a unresolved missing person. Ethically, we are not interested in talking about solved cases and reliving another families trauma. We are interested in being a small part of the solution and the hope of the podcast is to keep unsolved cases in peoples mind and generate tips.     In the early morning hours of June 18, 1982, 20-year-old Kelly Dove vanished while working the overnight shift at a gas station in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Just minutes before police arrived, Kelly made a series of calls reporting obscene phone calls and a suspicious man outside the store driving a silver Ford. When officers arrived- just minutes after Kelly’s 911 calls- the gas station was eerily untouched. Money left behind, her purse still behind the counter, and no signs of a struggle, but Kelly was gone. What followed was a decades-long search marked by missed leads, unanswered questions, and growing belief that Kelly was abducted and murdered. In this episode of Cold and Missing, we walk through Kelly’s final moments, the troubling similarities to other cases from the same summer, and the renewed investigation that may finally bring answers to what happened to Kelly Dove.     Three-year-old Arthur Williams, Jr was a bright, joyful little boy who spent his days playing alongside his big sister in their Las Vegas neighborhood. But on April 15th, 1985, within minutes of stepping outside to play, Junior was senselessly attacked by a man who approached the children on the sidewalk, spoke to them, and then stabbed Arthur before fleeing into a nearby alley. Arthur passed away the next morning, and despite sketches, witnesses, and the fear that gripped the community, the man responsible has never been identified.     In November 2003, 33-year-old Mont Highley IV returned home to Alabama for Thanksgiving. He was looking forward to some of his favorite things: good food, time with family, and time spent outdoors. Mont had planned a simple weekend of hunting with his dad after Thanksgiving. But after he drove out to the family’s hunting land on Friday night, Mont vanished. His truck was found abandoned, his belongings left behind, and the farm showed unsettling signs that something was wrong. Weeks later, Mont’s body was discovered in an unused grain silo just miles from where he disappeared. Nearly 22 years later, his murder remains unsolved.     Eleven-year-old Levi Frady loved being outdoors riding his red and black bike through the woods, fishing, and exploring the quiet backroads of Forsyth County, Georgia. On an ordinary Wednesday in October 1997, Levi left home to do homework with a friend. He was supposed to be home by dinner, but he never made it back. By the next afternoon, Levi’s red bike was found in a ditch, and just hours later, his body was discovered 15 miles away in the Dawson Forest. Twenty-eight years later, Levi’s case remains unsolved.     In November 1985, three-year-old Danyel Sparpana vanished from her West Sacramento home after her mother, 27-year-old Cynthia Sparpana, was discovered murdered. Neighbors reported seeing Danyel in the days after Cynthia’s death, but when Cynthia’s body is discovered Danyel is no where to be found. Investigators followed leads that ranged from a missing .22 handgun to a person of interest who later faced murder charges Despite a conviction years later, no conclusive physical link has ever been found and Danyel’s fate remains unknown.
