Trolls and Mountain Giants with the Last Traveling Bard

This week we talk with Sam, otherwise known as the Last Traveling Bard, about his adventures while researching the topic of giants and trolls. Stories like the Three Billy Goats Gruff are not only some of the first stories we as children hear but they're also some of the first "monster" or better yet, cryptid, stories we hear. From a young age we're introduced to trolls and I don't believe it's because of their good looks and literally value but because at a subconscious level, mankind is afraid of them much like snakes and spiders. So could they still exist? Did they ever exist at all? If your interested in purchasing Sam's Book: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LastTravellingBardCo?ref=seller-platform-mcnav&utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZnRzaAU_CSRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBwZG9mAnNydGMGYXBwX2lkDzU2NzA2NzM0MzM1MjQyNwABp2meYLvQ-7gLsy2_1t1EW3VlurZ86FN3jNa1ODRHOpEPomS0eaQgfQKOgtl__aem_coMW3dnenry02AbLMPo4Gw&dd_referrer=https://l.instagram.com/ To help Almost Canon grow, please leave a rating and a review. We are an independent podcast trying to grow a community from the ground up and we need all the support we can get to make this thing work! With your monetary support we can purchase new equipment as well as take Almost Canon on the road. There are several haunted hotels we'd like to investigate and podcast from like the Omni Mount Washington Resort, home of the infamous Bretton Woods Confrence and the Manchester Resort and Spa, where Mrs. Lincoln is still said to reside. Plus so many others! To donate to our GoFundMe, click the link below. All funds go back into the show: https://gofund.me/c0235fdb5 Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Real to Reel: The Beast of Bray Road (2005)

On this episode of Real to Reel we not only jump back into Sci-Fi Channel movies but into the mid aughts, a time when thing were much simpler and the Beast of Bray Road was hot on the scende. Origininally investigated by the late great Linda Godfrey, the story of the beast od Bray Road has only grown over the years. However, in 2005, it was nothing more than a werewolf story. So this week, for the first of several Halloween movies we'll be looking at 2005's The Beast of Bray Road. This direct to video werewolf movie was featured on the Sci-Fi channel which was where I first saw it and its become a annual watch on my Halloween rotation. So grab some popcorn and silver bullets while we break down this creature feature scene by scene! To help Almost Canon grow, please leave a rating and a review.
