A legacy is not created in what we accomplish or how much stuff we collect… but a lasting, positive legacy is created through how we love and invest in others, throughout our lives. Who left you a legacy? How has their legacy impacted/blessed/changed you, for the better? What kind of legacy would you like to leave? How do you want to be remembered? How do you want to impact the lives of others? A positive, healthy, long-lasting legacy requires intentional investments every day. In other words: The investments you make today determine your legacy for tomorrow. Good stewardship – brings & gives blessings in the now and leads to a legacy that will last. God instructs us to be good stewards of everything that has been entrusted to us. Yes, stewardship is about using our financial resources wisely and supporting the church so the church can live into its mission to make disciples. But stewardship it also about investing in others with our love, identity, service, faith and generosity.

    A Legacy of Generosity

    God is generous, extravagantly generous – always going above and beyond what is necessary to bless and love us. Everything that God entrusts to us – God invites us to share with others. So that we can also be extravagantly generous, like God! As a church family, we have an incredible opportunity to leave a legacy that will bless this generation and many generations to come! On Sunday, we will renew our commitment to support the mission and ministry of the church with our financial resources.

    A Legacy of Faith

    Faith, that is the ability to trust in Jesus to love and save us is a gift from God. But most of us know God and have faith in Jesus because someone else shared it with us. The greatest legacy we receive and that we can leave is the legacy of faith. This Sunday, we will celebrate the faith of those we have loved and lost through a service of celebration and remembrance. And we will recommit ourselves to building a legacy of faith for others.

    God entrusts us with the gift of life! We can choose to live for ourselves or for the sake of others. Jesus challenges us to serve others because Jesus knows that it is more blessed to give than to receive. A life spent serving others builds a lasting legacy that changes hearts and lives.

    A Legacy of Identity

    As Christians, we have to know who we are before we can know what we’re supposed to do. That’s why having a sense of identity is so important. Those people in our lives who help us understand who we are in Christ give us a tremendous gift. And once we receive that gift, we can share it with others. Join us this week as we talk about what it means to give and to receive a legacy of identity.
