Apologies to Bishop Ussher, but it is impossible to calculate the age of the earth using biblical statistics.  I don't care if you are a young earth creationist or an old earth creationist or somewhere in between or nowhere else, but the Bible's genealogies cannot be used in scientific calculations.  Hitting also a bit of information of the history of young earth creationism and its connections to Seventh-Day Adventism and scientific fraud.

Death before the fall?  It began when Eve decided and they both ate...or did it?  It might not be that simple.  Plus, in studying, you must have learned that man is mortal, but what about animals?  If they weren't immortal, then how could creation have been a paradise?  Why do we suddenly get "permission" to eat meat after the flood of all places?  (Hint: it's not new.)  Debunking common "certainties" and giving a look at Joshua John Van Ee's disseration, Death in the Garden:  An Examinatin of Original Immortality, Vegetarianism, and Animal Peace in the Hebrew Bible and Mesopotamia.  We may not be able to find out who is right, but we can have fun thinking about it.

Genesis 3, the Passover, the exile, and Jesus.  How do these relate to the wilderness, Babylon, Assyria, and why one always goes "down" to Egypt?  Each of us can relate to the theme of exile in some way, and yet the prevalence of this concept might escape us when we read our Bibles. Understanding exile can help us understand Jesus and our lives today.
