Buying Businesses Instead of Property: A Different Way to Build Wealth with Akhtar Khan

When we think about building wealth, most people immediately think about property. But what if there was another way to create serious income without tenants, refurbishments, or managing building work? In this week’s episode, I sit down with Akhtar Khan, a business psychologist and acquisitions expert with over 30 years of experience buying businesses. And honestly, this conversation opened my eyes to a completely different way of thinking about investing. Akhtar shares how buying businesses can be one of the most powerful ways to build income and diversify your portfolio. Instead of focusing only on property deals, he explains how you can acquire profitable businesses using creative deal structures and smart strategy. We talk about how someone could make £15,000 from a single deal without ever managing a tenant, builder, or refurbishment project. And the most interesting part? Many of the strategies overlap with the skills many of us already use in property. This episode is all about opening your mind to new opportunities, especially for women who want to step into bigger investor roles and start thinking beyond traditional property strategies. If you have ever wondered what else is possible when it comes to building wealth, this conversation will definitely get you thinking. Interested in learning more? If this episode has sparked your curiosity, we are hosting a live webinar on Wednesday 18th March where we will show you how you can get involved in buying businesses and start exploring this strategy for yourself. Balancing Motherhood & Business Without Losing Yourself with Samantha Hearne

This week on the Girls in Property podcast, I’m joined by the incredible Samantha Hearn.  Now, we could have spoken about nearly anything. We had so many conversation topics to choose from.  Sam is a seven figure, multi million pound business owner. We could have talked strategy. Scaling. Sales. The big business moves. But we didn’t. Because when I think about the conversations I have with you all most frequently, it is not just about property or business growth. It is about motherhood. It is about mum guilt. It is about building something big while feeling pulled in 100 different directions. It is about wondering why you are not where you thought you would be by now. Some of you are mums trying to grow a business whilst holding everything together at home. Some of you are not mums and are quietly carrying the weight of that, especially when life has not unfolded the way you expected. And in this episode, Sam and I come at this from very different angles. We talk about fertility. We talk about identity. We talk about guilt. We talk about what it really looks like behind the scenes, even when things look shiny from the outside. It is raw, honest and powerful. Just two women bearing their souls to help other women feel seen & heard.  There is no one size fits all answer in this episode. You will take from it what you need. And I really hope it meets you exactly where you are right now. The BIG Debate: Is Business Actually Hard… Or Do We Make It Hard? with Danielle Hobson

In this episode of the Girls in Property Podcast, I sit down with Danielle Hobson and we have a proper healthy debate around business. I share my view that business can feel hard at times, especially when you are in the thick of running it day to day. Danielle brings a different perspective, that business itself is not actually the hard bit, but that we as humans can sometimes make it feel that way. We talk openly about the realities of entrepreneurship, the pressure, the growth, the lessons, and also the importance of community, self trust, and celebrating your wins along the way. We also touch on energetics, mindset, and how much self awareness plays a part in the results we create in business. It is one of those conversations where you might find yourself nodding along to one side, then the other. And that is exactly the point. There is space for both. If you have ever questioned whether business is meant to feel hard, or wondered if there is another way to experience it, this one will really get you thinking. As always, take what feels right for you, and trust your own path x  How to Get Involved With The Girls in Property 👇 👩 Join our GIP Community 🖥️ Register for our FREE workshop on Thursday 18 March: Why 95% stay stuck unless they follow this 4 Phase Blueprint. 💗 Subscribe to Find our Latest Offers & Events Near You A Big Thank You to Our Sponsored Partners Lisa Marie Elkhadraoui from @design_boss_diary Ella Hardy from @landprofits (Click here to book a 45 min FREE discovery call) Rachel Knight from Title Split Limited - Access 25-35% Capital Uplift Get In Touch 📷Girls in Property Instagram 📧 girlsinpropertypod@gmail.com

What Happens When Things Go Wrong & Who You Become Next with Natasha Clarke

In this episode of the Girls in Property podcast, I sit down with subconscious coach and mentor Natasha Clarke for an honest and powerful conversation about our belief system and understanding who you are before you jump into any strategy. We talk about what happens when things feel sticky in business or property, when a strategy is not working, or when you feel like you are doing all the right things but something still feels off. Natasha shares the difference between wobbling and pivoting, and why changing the story you tell yourself when things go wrong can shift everything. Natasha opens up about her own journey, including a really tough year where her family faced serious health challenges and how that affected her identity and self worth. We talk about how easy it is to tie your value to money or results, and why the inner work matters just as much as the strategy. This episode is for you if you are starting out in property or already in a strategy that feels heavy or confusing. We talk about building a life you actually love, designing life on your terms, and defining what success really means to you. Natasha also shares simple tools for handling stress and emotions, including her ACI method Awareness, Clearance and Identity, which helps you understand what is really driving your choices beneath the surface. This is a conversation about property, but more than that, it is about you, your life and creating success in a way that feels good. The Abattoir Everyone Said No To with Alex Fidoe

In this episode of the Girls in Property podcast, I am joined by Alex Fidoe for one of those conversations that really makes you stop and think about what is possible when you refuse to give up. Alex shares her journey from working in a corporate role to becoming a self taught property developer, and we dive deep into one of her boldest projects yet converting an old abattoir into something completely new. This is not a glossy overnight success story. We talk honestly about the planning battles, the knock backs, the moments where it would have been easier to walk away, and the sheer belief Alex had to hold onto when others said no. This episode is a powerful reminder that property is not just about houses. It is about vision, resilience, and being willing to look outside the box. If you have ever thought about commercial property, scaling up, or taking on something that feels a bit scary but exciting at the same time, this conversation will really land. We also talk about the importance of community, surrounding yourself with the right people, and why backing yourself matters more than having all the answers from the start. Alex’s story is proof that you do not need permission to dream bigger, and that sometimes the most unexpected spaces can turn into the most incredible opportunities. This episode is for you if you are ready to challenge what you think property looks like and start believing that you can do things your own way too.
