Triple Amputee Veteran Told He’d Never Sail Again… Then Crossed the Pacific SOLO

Craig Wood is a former British Army rifleman, a triple amputee and ocean adventurer. At 18 years old, Craig lost both legs and one arm after being blown up by a controlled IED in Afghanistan. After weeks in a coma and years of recovery, he was told he’d never sail again. Last year, he became the first triple amputee to sail solo and unsupported across the Pacific Ocean. In this episode, we discuss Craig’s childhood, joining the military at 17, surviving the explosion, waking up in hospital as a triple amputee, identity loss, recovery, addiction, sobriety, sailing around the world, fatherhood, and the mindset that helped him rebuild his life. We also talk about happiness, purpose, trauma, why doctors shouldn’t define people’s limits, and what happens when you stop letting fear decide what you’re capable of. “It’s Never Too Late To Have A Good Childhood” - Jaz Ampaw-Farr

Jaz Ampaw-Farr believes it’s never too late to have a good childhood. An internationally renowned speaker, former teacher, and advocate for resilience and human connection, Jaz has spent years helping people rewrite the stories they were born into. Because she had to do it herself. Jaz grew up surrounded by violence, abuse, neglect, racism, foster care and unimaginable instability. She was homeless at university, sexually abused as a child, and convinced for much of her early life that she might never make it to adulthood. In this conversation, we talk about the five teachers who quietly changed the course of her life, the power of “everyday heroes,” and why breaking the cycle is only the beginning. We also explore trauma, identity, shame, self-worth, education, parenting, possibility, and what it really means to rewrite your story. Emotional. Honest. Hopeful. “Why We’re Turning Against Each Other” - Conflict Aid Veteran

We're more polarised in the West than ever. It's tearing families apart. Rhett Power spent years working in war zones with the Peace Corps and USAID, witnessing first-hand what happens when societies fracture - and when people stop seeing each other as human. Nearly a million people were killed in the conflicts and genocides we discuss in this conversation - the very real cost of polarisation. Rhett recently giving a TEDx talk called How To Host A Bipartisan Dinner that caught my eye. I wanted to speak to him about polarisation, outrage, fear and whether modern society is heading in the wrong direction. We discuss: political division and empathyfear, identity and human behaviourentrepreneurship and resiliencegrief and self-talkleadership and culturewhy “your self-talk becomes team talk” A thoughtful conversation about humanity, conflict and whether we’ve forgotten how to truly talk to each other again. The D.O.C: The Man That Changed Hip Hop

The D.O.C. may be one of the most influential figures in hip hop history. Your favourite rapper's favourite rapper. Many have said that hip hop would look very different without them - but in the case of The D.O.C., none could disagree. A foundational force behind the rise of West Coast rap, he helped shape the sound of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and gangsta rap itself. He received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award as an official member of N.W.A. A car accident more than 35 years ago destroyed D.O.C’s vocal cords at the height of his powers - and in doing so, robbed hip hop of his talent as a rising star. A talent he believes can be resurrected with AI. In this conversation, The D.O.C discusses: - whether hip hop lost its greatest ever rapper - his role in shaping Dr Dre’s sound - his first thoughts of Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and lyrical greatness - AI recreating his voice - spirituality, loss, reinvention and purpose and why he believes his best work may still be ahead of him. This is a conversation about identity, legacy, creativity and what happens when the thing that defines you is suddenly taken away. The Accident Broke Her Body… But Forgiveness Changed Her Life

Vanessa Ruck, also known as The Girl On A Bike, is a motorcycle racer, adventurer, speaker and content creator. After being hit by a car while cycling home in 2014, Vanessa was told her injuries were “just bruising.” In reality, the years that followed involved seven surgeries, chronic pain, PTSD, and the complete loss of the life she once knew. Today, she races motorcycles across some of the toughest environments on Earth, including the original Dakar route through Africa. In this conversation, we discuss trauma, forgiveness, chronic pain, motorcycles as therapy, resilience, motherhood, extreme endurance racing, and why Vanessa believes there is “no going back, only reinvention.” This is a conversation about rebuilding yourself after life falls apart. "I turned Everest Into a 13,000km Triathlon" - Mitch Hutchcraft on being Limitless

In this episode, I sit down with record-breaking endurance adventurer, former Royal Marine and author Mitch Hutchcraft. Last year, Mitch completed a world-first 13,000 kilometre journey from the English Channel to the summit of Mount Everest. Allow me to break the absurdity of that down for you: He swam the Channel. He cycled across 18 countries. He ran hundreds of kilometres through India, and then - and only then - did he climb the highest mountain on Earth. We talk about ADHD, grief, losing his dad at 20 - and the promise Mitch made to him, the mindset behind extreme endurance, and why he believes most people massively underestimate what they’re capable of. This is a conversation about possibility, purpose, suffering, discipline, and redefining what “impossible” truly means. "I hated who I saw in the mirror" - Fit in Midlife's Jason Smith

Jason Smith is a fitness coach, cover model and the founder of Fit in Midlife. At 49, Jason was drinking 2 to 3 bottles of wine a night, struggling with his health, and convinced his best years were behind him. He felt stuck, isolated, and like life had quietly passed him by. Then something unexpected happened. A simple post online triggered a complete shift in how he saw himself… and what was possible. Within months, he lost over 20kg, reversed serious health issues, and rebuilt his life from the ground up. He's since been on men's fitness magazines as a cover star, and continues to inspire hundreds of thousands of his followers on social media. In this conversation, we talk about loneliness in midlife, alcohol as a crutch, identity loss, and why so many people feel it’s “too late” to change. Jason explains what actually works when it comes to getting back in shape, why most fitness advice is overcomplicated, and how small daily actions can lead to massive transformation. This episode isn’t really even about fitness. It’s about starting again, when you think you it's too late. How to make a successful indie movie: Apnas, with co-directors Ashley Chin and Darren RL Gordon

Set on the gritty streets of Manchester, APNAS follows a British Asian Mancunian pulled into a dangerous criminal world by his notorious uncle - and a brutal rivalry with his cousin pushes everything to breaking point I sit down with Ashley Chin and Darren RL Gordon, the co-directors of Apnas - a movie that launched with HUGE hype, with millions of people talking about it before it was even released in cinemas last month. We talked about their careers, and I asked: how is it possible to make and market a successful independent film from scratch? This is a proper behind-the-scenes look at what it actually takes to get a film made - from a simple idea and a conversation, to building a team, self-funding the project, and pushing it all the way to a UK-wide cinema release. But this goes beyond filmmaking. We get into why Apnas had to be made, what it means to tell stories that aren’t being told, and the importance of representation, identity and community. We talk about: how Apnas came together from the ground upthe challenges of funding and making an indie filmworking with first-time actors and building authenticitythe pressure of bringing a story like this to lifeand what it really takes to turn an idea into something real This is a conversation about creativity, persistence, and making something happen when there isn’t a clear path.
