According to a new report, someone made a false emergency call claiming a mass shooting was taking place at her family's home. Police responded believing they were dealing with an active shooter. The woman's boyfriend and brother were held at gunpoint before officers determined the report was fabricated. The incident is known as swatting, when someone deliberately makes a false emergency report to trigger an armed police response. The woman, identified publicly as Jane Doe, has also reportedly received numerous threats since filing her lawsuit. The allegations in her underlying lawsuit remain contested, and the men accused have not been convicted of the alleged assault. We'll explain what happened and why swatting can have deadly consequences. TRUMP CANCELS PLANS TO LIVESTREAM FORT HOOD SHOOTER'S EXECUTION President Donald Trump has made his decision: the scheduled execution of convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan will not be livestreamed. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth previously announced plans to make the execution publicly viewable. But after criticism from lawmakers, religious leaders and others, Trump announced that the broadcast would not go forward. Eleven jurors supported finding Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her three young children, while Desronvil disagreed. Now Clancy's defense attorney is asking a judge to examine Desronvil's jury questionnaire, court records and cellphone activity during the trial.
