WakingWorld

What if the world is considerably stranger than we’ve been led to believe? I’m Dale, and welcome to WakingWorld — a podcast devoted to exploring the extraordinary, the controversial, the mysterious and the occasionally completely ridiculous. It all began in 2023 with a fascination for the occult and a rather eccentric co-host who seemed to have an answer for just about everything. What followed was a journey into subjects I’d barely scratched the surface of, and conversations that frequently went in directions neither of us had anticipated. Over the years, WakingWorld has explored Aleister Crowley, ceremonial magick, the Ordo Templi Orientis, Freemasonry, Rosicrucianism, Satanism, Luciferianism, the Knights Templar and the extraordinary history of secret societies and esoteric traditions. We’ve investigated ancient civilisations, alternative archaeology, Australian Aboriginal history and mythology, the Anunnaki, the origins of religion, Kabbalah, Gnosticism, biblical prophecy, the mysteries of Christianity and the nature of consciousness itself. Then there’s the stranger stuff. UFOs, extraterrestrials, reptilian theories, the Australian Yowie, astral projection, psychedelic experiences, shamanism, sigil magick, synchronicities, manifestation and the possibility that our understanding of reality might be rather incomplete. And, of course, we’ve ventured into the murkier corners of history and contemporary affairs: intelligence agencies, MKUltra, the JFK assassination, 9/11, propaganda, psychological warfare, political power, media narratives and conspiracy theories of every imaginable description. Along the way, I’ve spoken with fascinating guests including James Delingpole, Max Igan, historian Richard B. Spence, Steve and Evan Strong, Francis Lucille, Steven A. Young and many others — people bringing perspectives from history, spirituality, philosophy, alternative research and personal experience. WakingWorld has evolved considerably since those early conversations. Today, alongside the original catalogue, I explore new ideas through guest interviews, solo episodes and Is It News? — my irreverent look at the headlines, absurdities and occasional lunacy of the modern world. I don’t claim to have all the answers. In fact, the longer I do this, the more questions I seem to accumulate. Some subjects are fascinating. Some are disturbing. Some are probably complete nonsense. But I believe there’s value in exploring ideas, challenging assumptions, listening to different perspectives and occasionally having a good laugh at the sheer absurdity of it all. You don’t have to agree with me, my guests or anyone else who appears on the podcast. Just bring an open mind, a healthy dose of scepticism and, preferably, a sense of humour. Welcome to WakingWorld.

Episode #16 – JFK, 9/11 & Mass Trauma: Conspiracies, Psychological Control and the Official Narratives

It was January 2024, and we were kicking off the new year with two of the most controversial and heavily scrutinised events in modern American history: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Nothing like starting the year with something light. Both events changed the course of history, generated decades of speculation and left behind questions that continue to provoke fierce debate. In this episode, we explore some of the better-known conspiracy theories surrounding JFK and 9/11, along with a few of the more obscure interpretations that rarely make it into mainstream discussions. But there’s another dimension to the conversation. What happens to a population when it experiences an event of enormous collective trauma? How do fear, uncertainty and national tragedy influence public opinion, political decisions and people’s willingness to accept official explanations? We examine the idea that mass traumatic events can be exploited to shape public behaviour, reinforce authority and influence how societies understand the world around them. Some theories are familiar. Others are considerably more extraordinary. And, as always, the challenge is separating legitimate questions from speculation. Another journey into the more uncomfortable corners of history, where the official narrative is only the beginning of the conversation. Explore Anything. Question Everything.
