Disco Classics: Thank God It's Disco Vol. 8 (2022 Finale)

This is a disco classics mix — Thank God It's Disco, Volume 8 (2022) — the four‑hour finale of the series, assembled as a remastered celebration of popular disco songs for modern club sound. The set balances floor‑filling favourites with deeper gems, updated and sequenced to preserve original groove while delivering contemporary clarity and punch. Standouts include Chemise’s underground 1982 cut “She Can’t Love” in a Purple Disco Machine extended mix, a fresh Party Favorz re‑edit of Ahzz’s “New York Moving,” and playful treatments of Ottawan’s “D.I.S.C.O.” alongside Dimitri From Paris’ Sister Sledge remix. You’ll also hear refreshed mixes of Chic and Donna Summer woven into a nearly four‑hour continuous sequence that leans on extended remixes and tasteful reworks rather than gimmicks. Volume 8 is released as a tribute to the late Irene Cara and dedicated to her memory; her “Flashdance (What A Feeling)” appears here in a contemporary club mix. This final instalment closes the Thank God It’s Disco run with a respectful, dance‑ready nod to the era. Disco Classics: Thank God It's Disco Volume 3 (2020)

Disco mix — Thank God It's Disco Volume 3 (2020) digs into classic disco reworks and rare-era gems retouched for modern dancefloors. This 4+ hour set balances familiar crowd-pleasers with lesser-known originals whose riffs and hooks quietly shaped later house and club hits. Expect standout remixes from Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro, Dr. Packer, and Disco Incorporated alongside originals and edits by Sister Sledge, Chic, Jackie Moore, and Gary's Gang. The set intentionally highlights source-material connections — from John Davis & The Monster Orchestra to Gary's Gang — and points out how those motifs reappeared in 90s and 2000s dance tracks. Rather than a greatest-hits laundry list, the compilation surfaces tucked-away treasures and respectful re-edits that preserve the original groove while updating production for peak-hour play. If you follow disco through to modern house, this mix is a thoughtful, long-form ride through lineage and dancefloor-ready reworks. Disco Edits: Thank God It's Disco Volume 1 (2020)

Disco edits and reimagined classics — Thank God It's Disco Volume 1 (2020) collects DJ Barry Harris’s T.G.I.D. edits and refreshes of 70s and 80s Soul, Funk and Disco made for modern dance floors. The set was curated to turn oft-ignored originals into DJ-friendly versions for Pride sets, late-night rooms and crate-diggers wanting familiar hooks with contemporary polish. Highlights include club mixes of Bill Withers’ "Lovely Day," Toto’s "Africa," Taana Gardner’s "Heartbeat," and refreshed turns on Earth, Wind & Fire and Chic, plus a curious early-80s find, Hot Streak’s "Body Work." Several 2018–19 Barry Harris remixes and a Soulboss bootleg crop up alongside T.G.I.D. treatments, revealing both pop favourites and deeper gems from his record collection.
