    2026 F1 Japanese GP - full analysis with Peter Windsor

    Round three of the 2026 F1 World Championship - the all-new F1 championship - resulted in a second consecutive win for Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli.  After making a slow start from the pole, Kimi benefitted from a lap 22 Safety Car deployment to vault past his team-mate, George Russell, McLaren-Mercedes' Oscar Piastri and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.  He pulled away impressively at the re-start and was thereafter never headed. Piastri, whose medium Pirellis had been in good shape when he was strangely called in for hards on lap 21, finished second; and Leclerc was third for Ferrari, ahead of Russell, McLaren's Lando Norris and Sir Lewis Hamilton in the other Ferrari.  Peter details all three days at Suzuka in this podcast - and there's a bonus at the end as Mark Slade adds his take on the race.     2026 F1 Chinese GP - full analysis with Peter Windsor

    New regs or not - McLaren-Mercedes in the race (or not): nothing could detract from the enormity of this day in Shanghai - from the first GP win for Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli. From the pole, he seized the race lead from Ferrari's Sir Lewis Hamilton on lap two - and was thereafter never headed.  Lewis re-applied pressure after the pit stops; and team-mate, George Russell, was up their in P2, pushing hard, as the race unfolded.  Kimi, though, was unperturbed.  His win was as decisive as it was audacious.  George duly finished P2, Lewis a stellar P3 and Charles Leclerc P4 in the other Ferrari.  Neither McLaren made the start (electrical issues); and it was another bad day for Red Bull and Aston Martin.  In this video, Peter looks back at a big day for Italy and for the new F1 regs.     2026 F1 Australian GP - full analysis with Peter Windsor

    The factory Mercedes team - George Russell heading Kimi Antonelli - duly finished one-two in Melbourne, exhibiting more power, more downforce, more grip and more balance than all of their opposition - and capped all of that with perfect strategy calls. Ferrari pushed them hardest, with Charles Leclerc beautifully taking the lead into T1 and exchanging early-lap power surges with George Russell, but weird strategies quickly knocked them back to P3-P4, with Leclerc crossing the line 0.6sec ahead of his team-mate, Sir Lewis Hamilton. A messy day for McLaren-Mercedes began with Oscar Piastri crashing into the barriers on his pre-grid out-lap and Lando Norris finishing only P5. Red Bull-RBPT Ford's Max Verstappen finished P6 after starting near the back of the grid on hard Pirellis, but his team-mate, Isack Hadjar, who had qualified P3, was out of the race early with a PU blow-up.     With the 53% ICE-47% Electric F1 now upon us, we spoke to Gavin White, the CEO and co-founder of About:Energy, one of the world's leading battery modelling and simulation companies.  A motor racing fan in his own right, Gavin, 31, was introduced to the industry by Formula Student and today lists Porsche and Mercedes amongst his blue-chip customers. His insight into the new F1 - into the pitfalls and the bonuses - made for fascinating listening. Gavin White studied Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast before completing his PhD at Imperial College, London, where he majored in measuring the thermal properties of lithium-ion cells.
