Dr. Aaron Kheriaty | The Moral Limits of Public Health

What happens when public health policy collides with the foundational principles of medical ethics? In this thought-provoking episode of The React19 Podcast, Ann sits down with psychiatrist, medical ethicist, and author Aaron Kheriaty to explore the ethical questions raised by the COVID-19 era and why those questions remain critically important today. Dr. Kheriaty shares his journey from directing medical ethics at UC Irvine School of Medicine to challenging COVID vaccine mandates in federal court and becoming a plaintiff in the landmark free speech case Missouri v. Biden. Together, they examine informed consent, bodily autonomy, censorship, public health policy, and the growing tension between individual rights and utilitarian approaches to healthcare. The conversation goes beyond mandates and lawsuits to address deeper philosophical questions: What does it mean to be human? What is the proper role of medicine? Can science answer every question, or has society embraced scientism in place of genuine scientific inquiry? And what are the consequences when health becomes society's highest value? Drawing from his books The New Abnormal and Making the Cut, Dr. Kheriaty offers a compelling framework for understanding the ethical, cultural, and spiritual challenges exposed during the pandemic—and why those lessons matter for the future. Kristen Trawitzki | A Harrowing Journey Through Injury and Hope

When Kristen Trawitzki's husband was finally ready to come home after a life-threatening battle with COVID, her family was told he could not be released unless Kristen and her children were vaccinated. Feeling they had no real choice, they complied—and Kristen says their lives changed almost immediately. A longtime fitness professional who had spent over two decades helping others pursue health and wellness, Kristen says she went from being exceptionally healthy and active to battling a devastating cascade of hemorrhaging, blood clots, pericarditis, tremors, seizures, paralysis, neurological dysfunction, and years of dismissal by doctors. Eventually, she was diagnosed with AAG (Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy), a rare and debilitating neurological disorder that attacks the autonomic nervous system and can affect nearly every function in the body. In this heart-wrenching episode, Kristen shares the medical trauma her family endured, the diagnoses she fought to uncover, the treatments that finally began bringing relief, and why she believes the injured must be heard, believed, and helped. Aaron Siri | Truth, Transparency, and the Path Forward

Attorney and author Aaron Siri joins us for a conversation that gets to the heart of a difficult question: what happens when people are harmed—and the system offers no clear path to accountability? We unpack the legal realities surrounding COVID-19 vaccine injury, from the sweeping protections of the PREP Act to the barriers individuals face when seeking recognition, care, or justice.  Aaron breaks down what most people don’t realize about liability shields, how these cases are being challenged, and what’s unfolding in the courts—including specific cases involving Bri Dressen, Joel Wallskog, and the work of React19. We also discuss his book, Vaccines, Amen: The Religion of Vaccines, where he explores how vaccine policy and discourse, in his view, can take on the characteristics of unquestioned belief—shaping debate and limiting scrutiny. Importantly, he also points to where he sees real hope: ongoing legal challenges, growing public awareness, and a shifting willingness to question long-standing assumptions—opening the door to greater transparency, accountability, and support for those affected. Sen. Ron Johnson | Unwavering in the Pursuit of Truth and Shedding Light in the Darkness

Senator Ron Johnson joins The React19 Podcast for a direct and unfiltered look at the aftermath of the COVID-19 response—and why, after hearing the stories firsthand, he says he could not turn his back on the vaccine injured. From the earliest public testimonies in 2021 to ongoing investigations, this conversation examines what he describes as a systemic failure—where those suffering serious injuries have been left to fend for themselves, while critical safety concerns were downplayed or dismissed. Johnson also reflects on a broader theme: how power, left unchecked, can become a corrupting force—and what that means for public trust. He details emerging evidence suggesting federal health agencies were aware of safety signals but used flawed systems that effectively masked them—raising urgent questions about oversight, transparency, and accountability. Throughout the conversation, one thing is clear—Johnson has no intention of backing down. Despite criticism and resistance, he continues to press forward, committed to pursuing answers and bringing attention to those who have been overlooked. This is a conversation about truth, accountability, and what happens when the people most affected are forced to fight to be acknowledged. 5. Dr. Kirk Milhoan | Silenced Before It Began: Inside the Canceled ACIP Meeting

Dr. Kirk Milhoan | Silenced Before It Began: Inside the Canceled ACIP Meeting

Just days before a highly anticipated ACIP meeting—one that many hoped would finally acknowledge vaccine injury and begin restoring trust in public health—it was abruptly shut down, halting a conversation many believed was long overdue. On March 16, 2026, a federal judge, Judge Brian Murphy, issued a preliminary ruling that blocked the newly appointed members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) from serving. The ruling cited procedural concerns with how the committee had been formed. However, the decision was met with significant criticism, with many questioning the strength of its legal reasoning and the broader implications of halting the committee’s work—particularly given its potential to disrupt ongoing public health functions and delay critical discussions. The impact was immediate. The March 18–19 ACIP meeting was canceled, bringing the committee’s work to a standstill before it could begin. For thousands of individuals living with life-altering conditions following COVID-19 vaccination, that meeting represented something rare: hope. Hope that their experiences would be recognized. Hope that science would catch up to reality. Hope that someone, finally, would listen. In this episode of The React19 Podcast, Dr. Kirk Milhoan offers an inside look at what was planned—and what was lost. At the heart of the discussion is a simple but critical principle: medicine must continuously evaluate both risk and benefit. Not just in theory—but in practice, in real time, and with full transparency. Instead, what many patients have encountered is something very different. Dismissal. Silence. And in many cases—being told their symptoms couldn’t possibly be related. But as Dr. Milhoan explains, failing to acknowledge adverse outcomes doesn’t eliminate them—it prevents progress. Without honest evaluation, there is no path to better treatments, safer interventions, or restored trust. The halted ACIP meeting was intended to begin that process. To bring forward data. To ask hard questions. To allow open scientific discussion. And perhaps most importantly—to give a voice to those who have been living this reality. The broader issue, however, extends beyond one meeting. It raises deeper questions about how decisions are made in medicine—and who they are made for. Is the goal to protect systems? Or to serve patients? Because at the center of this conversation are real people—families who have lost loved ones, individuals who have lost their health, and a growing number of Americans who no longer trust the institutions meant to protect them. Rebuilding that trust won’t come from authority. It will come from honesty. From acknowledging where mistakes were made. From allowing open debate. From putting patients—not policies—at the center of care. As Dr. Milhoan puts it: truth may take time—but it does come. And for those still waiting to be heard, that truth cannot come soon enough. Lorin Jeppsen | Focus on the Journey - You Got This!

Before October 2021, Lorin Jeppsen was the picture of health—an active-duty B-52 pilot turned Air National Guard special warfare member, with a deep passion for fitness rooted in both his career and identity. When the COVID-19 vaccine mandate was implemented, Lorin had reservations but ultimately complied under pressure from military leadership and the belief that he would be supported if anything went wrong. Just seven days later, he developed a cascade of serious symptoms—including vertigo, chest pain, dizziness, numbness, and nervous system dysfunction—marking the beginning of a life-altering medical journey. Despite early medical acknowledgment linking his condition to the vaccine, Lorin faced a frustrating path through emergency care and multiple specialists, often met with uncertainty and limited guidance. As his condition persisted, he was forced to navigate a complex and bureaucratic medical evaluation process within the military—ultimately requiring legal representation and nearly two years of appeals to secure medical retirement and the benefits he was entitled to. Lorin also shares the emotional toll of the experience—including shifts in how he was treated within the military and the isolation many face when dealing with misunderstood or unrecognized conditions. Throughout the conversation, Lorin reflects a “positive realist” mindset—acknowledging the seriousness of his condition while remaining focused on incremental progress, resilience, and moving forward despite the challenges.
