    "Superbowl Goals"

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! This week, we're getting into politics, power, celebrity accountability, and a whole lot of questionable decisions. 😭 First, we're discussing influencers who have publicly expressed that they aren't voting or don't believe in encouraging others to vote. We have THOUGHTS. Especially as Black women in America, we talk about why voting still matters, why opting out isn't the flex some people think it is, and why even if you're skeptical about the impact of your vote, what exactly are you losing by participating? Then things take a turn toward the church. We're unpacking the story of a pastor whose wife announced that his spiritual daughter has now become his wife in a polygynous relationship. We get into the power dynamics, religious institutions, men in positions of authority, and the ways some women enable and defend male-centered systems that ultimately put other women at risk. Next up: Jay-Z's official announcement for the 2027 Super Bowl has us experiencing some serious Jay-Z fatigue. We're also questioning his continued partnership with the NFL, especially as questions remain about the league's treatment of Black athletes. We discuss the troubling circumstances surrounding Jalen Hurts' blood clot diagnosis, the investigation into his medical clearance, and whether player safety is really the priority. The situation feels uncomfortably reminiscent of the exploitation of Black bodies throughout history. So what role is Jay-Z playing in helping the NFL manage its public image? And finally, Nicki Minaj's appearance at a MAGA rally has us asking… what exactly is going on?! We discuss her political alignment, the reactions, and why we're getting strong Sunken Place energy. From influencers sitting out elections to pastors, the NFL, and celebrities making questionable political appearances, this episode has us asking a lot of questions. As always… who are we to judge? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Donate to support the growth of our show! I Know You Care!

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! We're ready to say goodbye to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show era, and honestly… good riddance! 👋🏾 There was a time when Victoria's Secret was THAT girl. We were tuned in, captivated by the spectacle, and blissfully unaware of the disturbing history behind the brand, including Les Wexner's ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Knowing what we know now, we're not sad to see that era fade. And let's be real, the bras and panties were never really giving grown-woman comfort or functionality anyway. 😭 That leads us down memory lane to the golden age of malls and mall culture. The '90s and early 2000s really had us living in a fantasy! 😂 From spending entire Saturdays at the mall to the absolute MAGIC of Christmas shopping—the decorations, the music, the excitement of it all! Christmas at the mall was an EXPERIENCE. We might've actually peaked as a culture back then, and we're only half joking. 😭 Then we get into Miley Cyrus's Hollywood Bowl performance and the complaints that she wasn't giving fans her all. Why do we give celebrities so much grace for not doing their jobs when everyday people are expected to show up, smile, and perform no matter what? And if fans paid their hard-earned money to hear YOU sing, why are they doing half the singing?! We also talk about the decline of the traditional hair salon as a third space, especially for Black women. Beyond getting our hair done, salons were places to build community, learn social cues, and experience a level of professionalism that we feel has been lost in the shift toward salon suites and independent stylists. Finally, we ask whether Gen Z and Gen Alpha are missing out on the third spaces that helped shape us. Not to sound like boomers, but when did caring become uncool?! 😭 These are our future doctors, nurses, and community leaders—we NEED y'all to give AF! Some things deserve to stay in the past, but community, consideration, and knowing how to act in public? We'd like those back, please. 😂 As always… who are we to judge? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Donate to support the growth of our show! White People's Business

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! We're kicking things off with a birthday recap! 🎉 Alexis takes us through her Chicago birthday celebration and seeing Olivia Rodrigo on the Unravel Tour. But we have questions… why don't Gen Z and Gen Alpha DANCE at concerts anymore?! Are we the only ones who still want to get up and have a good time?! Then we get into late-stage male-centeredness and what we're calling the male-centered to Botched pipeline. 😭 From Susan Dell to Barbara Thornhill, we talk about the lengths some women go to center men in their lives and where that can ultimately lead. Next, we're unpacking the irony of Gizelle Bryant's father's inheritance reportedly going to his white wife and then his sister-in-law. Considering how much Gizelle criticized Candiace for receiving financial support from her family, we have THOUGHTS about how this situation has unfolded. Finally, we get into the Kelly Clarkson and Art of Place store debacle. Because what is going ON?! As always… who are we to judge? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Donate to support the growth of our show! Everybody Eats

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Why does putting yourself out there feel SO embarrassing?! 😭 This week, we’re talking about the vulnerability of being perceived...from posting yourself online to sending the risky text and why doing something as simple as letting people know you care can suddenly make you want to disappear. Then we get into the Savannah James first class vs. business class discourse. When you’re married to a billionaire, what are the expectations?! We speculate about money, access, and power in relationships where one person is the primary wealth holder and what WE would expect if we were in that position. Safe to say, the people in our lives wouldn’t have to worry about a thing. 😂 And somehow, as always, we end up at Beyoncé. If Beyoncé and Kelly go to dinner… are they splitting the check?! What about Solange? Who’s picking up the tab? Who’s on the payroll?! We have absolutely no inside information, so naturally we let our imaginations run wild. Then we get into the $1,000+ sew-in debate. Has the price of getting your hair done gotten completely out of control? And at what point does “luxury pricing” become predatory when your primary customers are Black women? We have THOUGHTS. Finally, BeyHive Buzz has us asking the questions that really matter: What is a lazy Saturday like when you’re Beyoncé-level rich? 😂 Do you wake up and breakfast is already waiting? Is the chef there every day? Are your clothes laid out, or are you still standing in the closet figuring out what to wear like the rest of us? Who is just… permanently at the house?! We need a book detailing the mundane logistics of Beyoncé's billionaire life! Please Beyoncé! We need to know! 😭 As always… who are we to judge? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Donate to support the growth of our show! Almost Rich Aunties

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! This week we start with a question: Am I even really who I am… and who will I be when I can finally afford myself? 😂 We get into how much money, access, and lifestyle play a role in how we express who we really are. Then Amanda Seales dropped a diss track, so naturally we have to discuss. Is Amanda simply misunderstood, or does she enjoy being a contrarian? This leads us to another July 1st Cancer, Chlöe Bailey, who like Amanda often gets hit with the “she’s doing too much” critique and doesn’t always seem to land with the public. Is there something about these July 1st babies?! 👀 Somehow, we end up back at one of our favorite frustrations: Normani. We WANT her to be great, but does Normani actually want to succeed as a solo artist? Because sometimes… the actions are unclear! We talk about what WE would be doing if we managed Normani...and safe to say, we’d be hitting the pavement like early Beyoncé. 😂 Finally, are the VMAs officially dead? Sadly… it’s looking that way. We have theories about how a show that once gave us some of the biggest moments in pop culture lost its magic. And the latest Taylor Swift moment isn’t helping; creating a special award and seemingly finding another way to center her video feels like part of the problem. We get that the VMAs are a major part of Taylor’s history (her victim-to-villain arc basically started there!), but nobody wants to sit through the Taylor Swift Awards every year. Iced Coffee Stains

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! This week, we start by talking about friendship breakups and get a little vulnerable lol. We talk about outgrowing friendships, knowing when it’s time to let go, and why friendship breakups can be so hard. Then we get into Iced Coffee Gate, which has blown up on the socials, and debate whether it’s appropriate to bring an iced coffee into a job interview. Is this even something worth fighting for? At the end of the day, is it practical? Are we becoming boomers? We also briefly get into HYROX poop lady Joanna Wietrzyk. We give our thoughts, and we are appalled lol. We end with our new segment, BeyHive Buzz. We talk about the Cécred UK launch and another interesting press week for Jay-Z as folks point out his connections to Robert Kraft following the controversy surrounding Macklemore being removed from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour after saying “Free Palestine.” At the same time, Colin Kaepernick is on a press tour of his own, debuting his new memoir, The Perilous Fight, and speaking about his experience being blackballed by the NFL. That brings us back to Jay-Z’s decision to partner with the NFL during the boycott and the role he played in bringing Black audiences and performers back to the league. And then Rolling Stone teases Act III, Beyoncé’s highly anticipated rock album, which has us asking: Are you tryna take some of the heat off your huzzzband?? Because with everything we know now, whatever comes next is going to be VERY interesting. The stage is set, old conversations are coming back around, and some unexpected players are entering the chat. Jay-Z may be running out of chess moves...and Colin Kaepernick might be an opponent he never expected. WHO’S ON TRIAL THIS WEEK?! ⚖️ Donate to support the growth of our show! All Over The Place

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! Court is officially in session, and this week Ed Sheeran, Jasmine Crockett, Chris Brown, Tyler Perry and more are on trial! ⚖️ We kick things off with the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s ongoing Loop Tour following backlash over his outspoken support for Palestine. We unpack Ed’s response, the pressure reportedly coming from Robert Kraft and stadium owners, P!nk’s criticism of Macklemore, and the bigger question: What responsibility do artists have to use their platforms to speak up for human rights? We also discuss why claiming neutrality isn't an option when real people are suffering as we speak. Free Palestine. Free Congo. Free Sudan. Period. Then, somehow, we end up asking a completely unrelated but necessary question: What happened to American Idol?! 😭 Next on trial is Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett after she appeared at Chris Brown and Usher’s Texas tour stop and honored the artists with Congressional recognition. We have QUESTIONS. Why Chris Brown? Why use an official Congressional honor? And with thousands of people gathered in one place, why not use the opportunity to encourage people to vote? We get into our right to critique the politicians we support, accountability, our culture’s relationship with famous men, and whether being male-centered sometimes clouds the way we respond to abuse. Finally, we’re talking Tyler Perry and his famously fast productions. When does being efficient and saving money cross the line into exploitation? And after years of Black trauma being at the center of so many of his stories, is it time for Tyler Perry to use his massive platform and resources to usher in a new generation of Black filmmakers with new perspectives, stories and experiences? And before we adjourn, ticket buying itself needs to be put on trial because WHAT is going on?! Stevie Wonder tickets sold out in minutes, and we have to ask: how are the elders supposed to compete in the Hunger Games that concert ticket buying has become?! 😭 When getting tickets to see your fave requires multiple devices, presale codes, perfect Wi-Fi, and Olympic-level reflexes, something has gone terribly wrong. The court is in session. Who do YOU think is guilty this week? 👩🏾‍⚖️⚖️ Donate to support the growth of our show!
