EP 110: Lyme Disease, MS or Cancer? One Tick Bite Changed Everything.

After a tick bite in 2020, Dr. Kristi Hellenbrand's life changed dramatically. A Doctor of Chiropractic, author and patient advocate, Kristi went from running a busy chiropractic practice and caring for life on her farm to a rapid decline in her health. Within months, she lost the sensation in her legs, needed a cane and eventually lost the ability to walk. Doctors considered multiple sclerosis (MS) or cancer. When Lyme disease was finally suspected, Kristi began treatment and experienced some improvement. However, her symptoms returned after stopping IV antibiotics, leaving her searching for a more effective path forward. In this episode, Dr. Kristi shares her Lyme disease journey, from the frightening onset of symptoms to receiving confirmation through Vibrant testing and ultimately pursuing the Horowitz Protocol. She explains why she viewed this approach as "the big guns" and how it became a turning point in her recovery. Today, Kristi is back to helping others through her chiropractic practice, patient advocacy work, and educational outreach. She is passionate about helping people find answers, navigate testing options, and understand that they are not alone in their health journey. This conversation is a powerful reminder that early symptoms should never be ignored, answers are worth pursuing, and hope remains possible even when the future feels uncertain. In this episode, I am joined by Tracey Foster to share her deeply personal healing journey. Tracy is a licensed practical nurse, Integrative Health Practitioner and is trained in breathwork facilitation and somatic inquiry. Based in Vancouver, Canada, she now helps support others navigating stress, trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and chronic illness. Just as she felt she was finally beginning to rebuild and move forward, a traumatic car accident sent her spiraling once again. Together, we discuss trauma, anxiety, chronic stress, pain, nervous system dysregulation, and the powerful connection between oral health and overall wellness. Tracey also shares how breathwork and somatic inquiry became some of the most impactful tools in her healing journey and helped her reconnect with her body in a completely different way. EP 108: Dr Rawls on Autophagy, Lyme and the Vital Plan Restore 180 Program

Dr. Bill Rawls returns to Lyme and Beyond with Tanya for an in-depth conversation about healing Lyme disease, chronic illness, autophagy, and the Vital Plan Restore 180 Program. In this episode, we take a deep dive into the Vital Plan Restore 180 Program and the Vital Plan Network. So many individuals navigating Lyme disease are left trying to figure it all out and piece everything together on their own and that is where Restore 180 comes in. Dr. Rawls explains exactly what the program involves, who it may benefit, and why he believes creating the right foundation within the body is essential for healing. We also discuss the virtual support system included within the program, including coaching, accountability, education, and community support. One of the other amazing aspects of Restore 180 is that it provides an affordable and accessible option for people who may not be able to travel for care, have not yet found a practitioner or are navigating their healing journey independently. We also discuss autophagy, what it is and the important role it may play in healing. Along with cellular repair, lifestyle changes, nutrition, sleep, stress, detoxification, and restoring balance within the body. Dr. Rawls shares why so many people remain stuck in survival mode and how supporting the body’s natural healing processes may help shift that pattern. Whether you are newly diagnosed, feeling stuck in your healing journey, or simply searching for new perspectives and hope, this episode is packed with valuable information, practical insight, and encouragement. EP 104: Misdiagnosed with ALS - Angelo's Journey From Hopeless Diagnosis to Lyme Disease Discovery

Today, Katrina joins me to share her husband Angelo's story. Angelo was given multiple ALS diagnoses. He was told he had a progressive and hopeless condition. Despite those answers, Katrina and Angelo refused to stop searching. They pursued further testing and continued looking for explanations. Angelo was also tested for Lyme Disease multiple times and each time the results came back negative. Still, they kept advocating for deeper answers as his symptoms progressed. Eventually, they were led to the true diagnosis of Lyme disease. This experience is not uncommon. Many individuals diagnosed with ALS are later found to have Lyme disease or co-infections that were not detected in earlier testing. In this episode, Katrina shares their journey through repeated ALS diagnoses, the emotional impact of those results and what it has been like navigating life after finally finding answers. They are still in the midst of their healing journey today, and Katrina speaks about the importance of awareness, persistence and continuing to ask questions when answers do not fully align. She has also started a Facebook page "Standup4lyme" to help raise awareness about ALS misdiagnosis and to share information and support for families navigating similiar situations.  If you or someone you love is facing a difficult diagnosis this episode is a reminder to keep searching for answers. EP 103: From Childhood Symptoms to Lyme Diagnosis in Adulthood - Mary's Journey to Healing

Today, Mary Jacobs joins me to share her journey. She is a holistic registered nurse consultant and the owner and founder of The Detox Shoppe, LLC. As a child, she struggled with ongoing fatigue and learning challenges, never fully understanding why. Her diagnosis didn't come until adulthood, when her symptoms became impossible to ignore. It was through a chance encounter with another Lyme patient that everything finally began to make sense. It pointed her toward the answers she had been searching for all along: Lyme Disease. In this episode, Mary shares the path that followed, including treatment at Envita Medical Center in Arizona, where she underwent a combination of IV antibiotics, herbal protocols and detox therapies.   Her journey required deep commitment; physically, emotionally and financially but it also led to transformation.
