Between Pages & Friends

I really tried to remain a fan of this show. I was sad when John and Con left of course. But disappointed by how it was handled on Lauren and Kyle’s end. I hoped the new episodes would at least continue the humor and insight that made me a fan, but… every aspect seems to have gone downhill, even on social media. For their sake I hope it gets better over time. I can’t get through an episode anymore though. Best of luck.

I was excited to catch up on the new episodes, especially because I loved Knight and the Moth. After Jon and Con left, I hoped Lauren and Kyle would use the opportunity to give the podcast a fresh identity and make it feel distinctly their own. After all, the group of four was a staple of the show. Unfortunately, the first episode felt more like the original format with two hosts missing. Like Lauren and Kyle were called in to sub and they’re trying their hardest. The change in dynamic was glaring, and the conversation often felt awkward rather than natural. I kept waiting for them to settle into the new rhythm, but ultimately I struggled to connect with it and had to turn it off. I tried giving the second episode a chance but that feeling was even worse. I really wanted to enjoy this next chapter, but the elements that made BP&F feel special to me seemed to have changed significantly.

I fell in love with the podcast when you guys did throne of glass I was also reading for the first time and now I’m obsessed I look forward to listening to the episodes and hanging with my book besties. I’ve been reading quick silver along with you guys as well and this week I recently gave birth to my rainbow baby. It was two AM she’s crying and I was thinking oh my god it’s 2:30 in the morning I don’t want to call anyone but I really need to talk to people/be around my friends so I turned on the podcast and now it’s my thing that I look forward to during my 2am feeding session hanging out with my book besties made everything instantly better. Thank you for being you and including me in your bestie group you guys are life savers!!

I’m so excited to delve into the dungeon with an amazing crew. I’m totally enjoying this book. As a fellow princesses obviously Princess Donut is my favorite. I have played D&D and WOW (World of Warcraft) so some of the terminology and technicalities I’m pretty familiar with. I was so tempted to read more what a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for next week.
