WORTH IT For Her: Women, Recovery, and Real Stories - episode 1

In this episode of Rise Above, a podcast from Rogers Behavioral Health, we begin a powerful conversation about women, substance use recovery, and the courage it takes to be honest. Page Feller from Rogers Behavioral Health sits down with Christina and Elizabeth, two women in recovery who share their lived experiences with addiction, motherhood, shame, faith, and healing. In this first part of their conversation, Elizabeth opens up about trying to hold everything together on the outside while struggling silently on the inside, and what it took to finally feel safe enough to ask for help. This episode also introduces WORTH IT For Her, a Rogers Behavioral Health program designed specifically for women in substance use treatment. WORTH IT For Her recognizes that women often enter treatment carrying layers of responsibility, trauma, perfectionism, and expectation, and that recovery must address more than substance use alone. The program creates space for women to explore mental health, relationships, identity, motherhood, and lived experience in a supportive, compassionate environment. If you or someone you love is struggling with substance use, help is available. To learn more about the WORTH IT For Her program or to speak with someone about treatment options, email worthit@rogersbh.org or call 844-582-7827. Rise Above shares real stories of resilience, recovery, and hope, because no one has to do this alone. Learn more about Rogers Behavioral Health and its specialized care at https://rogersbh.org

Life After Treatment: Building Community in Addiction Recovery

In this episode of the Rise Above Podcast, host Andy Meddaugh sits down with Scott Elston, president of the Herrington McBride Alumni Association, to talk about life after addiction treatment and the critical role of community in long-term recovery. Scott shares his personal journey from alcoholism and entering treatment in 2006 to nearly two decades of sobriety. He explains how recovery is about more than quitting alcohol, it's about building a new way of life grounded in connection, service, and personal growth. The conversation dives into how the Herrington McBride Alumni Association supports both current patients and alumni through mentorship, events, outreach, and shared experiences. From weekly connection opportunities to large gatherings like alumni retreats and recovery-focused events, the association helps individuals stay engaged and supported long after treatment ends. Scott also discusses the importance of hope in recovery, explaining how seeing others thrive in sobriety can inspire those just beginning their journey. Through service, storytelling, and community, he highlights how recovery is sustained by helping others and staying connected.
