Cracked Open: My Health Journey, Healing & Purpose

Send us Fan Mail In today’s episode I’m sharing a deeply personal and powerful conversation that originally aired on my dear friend Dana Hunter Fradella’s podcast, Girls Who Recover (now Her Next Level Podcast). This episode was recorded in the early days of both of our podcasting journeys, and it became one of the most pivotal conversations I’ve ever had about my life, my health, and my healing. At the time, I was still in the thick of processing my own story — navigating a rare illness, searching for answers, and trying to understand what happens when your body stops working the way it’s supposed to. What unfolded in this conversation was raw, honest, and emotional in a way I hadn’t fully experienced before publicly sharing my journey. Dana has a gift for holding space that allows people to go deeper than they thought they could. In this interview, she gently guided me into the truth of my experience — the fear, the frustration, the moments of feeling dismissed, and the long road toward diagnosis, healing, and hope. In this episode, we talk about: ✨ Being dismissed and misunderstood in the medical system ✨ The emotional toll of chronic illness ✨ Rock bottom moments and learning to ask for help ✨ Trusting your inner voice when no one else understands ✨ The power of support, community, and resilience ✨ How my healing journey led to purpose and founding Little Moments Big Dreams Celebrations This conversation marked a turning point in my story. Looking back now, I can see how much I’ve grown since this moment — not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, and in how I now show up in the world. I’m so grateful to Dana for holding space for me in one of the most vulnerable chapters of my life, and for helping me share a story that continues to ripple outward today. Together, we explore how we can begin to notice these patterns, question them, and gently let them go. This episode is a reminder that healing isn’t about fixing who you are—it’s about reconnecting with the wholeness that’s always been there. ✨ In this episode, we talk about: What the inner critic really is and where it comes from How perfectionism keeps you stuck, small, and exhausted The hidden “payoff” behind self-judgment and fear Why awareness is the first step to real change The power of self-compassion and letting go of control How to start showing up messy, authentic, and fully yourself Tools like journaling, breathwork, and mindfulness to reconnect with your truth 💫 This episode is for you if: You constantly feel like you’re not doing enough You struggle with perfectionism or fear of judgment You have a loud inner critic that won’t quiet down You’re on a healing journey and want to feel more at peace You’re ready to let go of “perfect” and start living fully 🌿 Reminder: You were never broken.  You don’t need to become someone new—just come home to who you already are. You’ll learn simple, powerful tools to regulate your emotions, including the 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 years mindset, emotional self-distancing, and how to shift from fear into trust. If you’ve been struggling with anxiety, overthinking, or feeling stuck in the unknown, this episode will help you reconnect with yourself and remember: You don’t have to control everything to feel okay. ✨ In this episode, you’ll learn:  How to stop spiraling thoughts and calm anxiety  Why we crave control and immediate answers  How to trust yourself during uncertainty and change  Tools for emotional regulation and self-compassion  How to let go of control and believe in “this or something better” This is your reminder that even in the chaos, you are not alone—and sometimes what feels like everything falling apart is actually falling into place. ✨ Key Takeaway: We don’t control outcomes. We don’t control timing. And we don’t always get closure. But we do get to choose how we respond—and how we care for ourselves in the process. When Fear Shows Up Before the Breakthrough

Send us Fan Mail In this honest episode I share a vulnerable moment of realizing that fear was quietly holding me back from stepping into my next level. After experiencing a breakdown filled with doubt, nervous system reactions, and questions like “Who am I to do this?”, I began to recognize something deeper—fear often shows up right before growth. From reaching out to bigger podcast guests to being asked to share my own story, opportunities were arriving… but my body was reacting with tightness, anxiety, and hesitation. In this episode, I explore: • How fear can show up in the body through nervous system responses                     • Why stepping outside your comfort zone can feel physically uncomfortable  • The difference between intuition and fear • Letting go of beliefs that say you're “not qualified” • Learning to regulate your body so you can move forward instead of shrinking back • Why we are all here to stop playing small and step into our light I also share a preview of an upcoming grief series on the podcast and reflect on how every life experience—even the hard ones—can shape the voice we’re meant to share with the world. If you've ever questioned your voice, your worth, or your readiness for something bigger, this episode is a reminder: You can find me at: https://www.instagram.com/cataton/ https://www.facebook.com/casey.taton/ You can find what sparks me at: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1AgeRtyojY/ https://www.instagram.com/lmbdcelebrations/ Music by: Jason and Ashley Scheufler Artwork by:  https://www.instagram.com/graphx_ink/
