Ep 51 - Sanctuary Stays & Co-habitation Experiences | Clint Seares | Lucky Stars Animal Sanctuary

In 2016, Kerrie Carroll founded Lucky Stars Sanctuary with a conviction that injured, neglected or abandoned animals deserve a safe haven to flourish. In 2019, Clint Seares joined the sanctuary as Kerrie’s devoted partner in both life and mission. Tragically, Kerrie passed away in 2023, leaving Clint and his daughter Anna as custodians of the 100+ sanctuary residents, now located in Wooton, NSW. In this deeply moving episode, Clint sits down with us to share how they found the strength to carry the torch of Kerrie’s legacy. Clint discusses the day-to-day life-saving work at Lucky Stars Sanctuary, including a recent incident where 19 cats and kittens were dumped in the cold and rain at the front gates. Every single one of them is now safe, vet assessed and many are ready for their forever homes. We also dive into their forward-thinking vision of co-habitation experiences, featuring pristine on-site campsites and a gorgeous new Tiny House retreat. These overnight stays offer the ultimate sanctuary sleepover, allowing guests to connect with rescue farmed animals at twice-daily feedings.  Learn more and support Lucky Stars: Donate or volunteerCat Adoption Day (June 28, Wooton NSW)Book a camp siteTiny House stay____ LINKS  Please subscribe to support the show. Ep 47 - Out of Sight: 40 Years Investigating Slaughterhouses | Gail Eisnitz | Humane Farming Association

In this episode, we are honoured to sit down with Gail Eisnitz, Chief Investigator for the Humane Farming Association (HFA) and a true pioneer of animal cruelty investigations in the USA.  Gail has spent 43 years exposing the hidden horrors of the animal farming and slaughter industries, but her latest book, Out of Sight, reveals a health battle she was fighting behind the scenes. Gail opens up about her childhood struggles with undiagnosed OCD and a rare visual processing disorder, and how those early feelings of isolation led her to identify with the helplessness of animals.  We discuss her career as the first female national investigator in the 1980s, her courageous work documenting slaughterhouse violations while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and her relentless pursuit of justice against the unyielding power of industry and law enforcement. Finally, Gail shares what it was like receiving a diagnosis for her mystery illness after 60 years of searching for answers, and how she continues to lead the HFA’s mission to protect farm animals today.
