    We like to win

    We here on the Find Out Podcast are a big fans of Democrats winning elections and we couldn't be happier with this week's news that Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX), who was endorsed by Trump, won his runoff election, unseating the incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) as the Republican nominee. Why are we excited about this? Because Paxton, who has been impeached by the Republican Super Majority in the Texas state legislature for embezzlement, busted for an extramarital affair and is generally hated by Cornyn voters and his fellow Texas Republicans, this creates an excellent opportunity for State Rep. James Talarico (D-TX) to finally flip Texas Blue. The last time Texas Democrats came close to flipping this seat was in 2018 when U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) narrowly defeated Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-TX) by 2.6%. On this episode, we'll make the case for why someone like Paxton is worse than Cruz. Talarico's ability to communicate effectively with religious Christian voters, coupled with Hispanic and Latino voters turning on Trump in large numbers, makes this a must watch race that could help the Democrats win the U.S. Senate this year.  We'll also discuss why conviction is the best weapon for Democrats to counter Republican messaging when pitching massive changes like universal health care. We also enjoyed watching Chelsea Handler and Pete Davidson destroy Tony Hinchcliffe at the Netflix Roast of Kevin Hart. We also crack down on corporations using investments in AI data centers to justify mass layoffs but those investments haven't been paying off. Also, we'll highlight how the tech billionaires like Marc Andreessen, Peter Thiel and Elon Musk want cheaper workers while J.D. Vance and Stephen Miller want more white workers.     We all get cancelled!

    On this episode, all four Find Out Podcast hosts are going to reveal their controversial Hot Takes on some big issues. We warn you that some of these hot takes might be triggering but we open this episode to a civil debate on the issues: Zak has some strong opinions on how the left discusses Israel. Luke wants Democrats who know nothing about how assault weapons work to just shut the f*** up. Rich doesn't have a fundamental problem with the death penalty. Tim remains adamant that Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) has a better shot at being President than Gavin Newsom or Kamala Harris.  Before we delve into them, we cover some big news that happened this week. First off, Trump finally got his revenge against Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who was the sole Republican to vote against the Big Beautiful Bill and push for the release of the Epstein Files, by endorsing Massie's primary opponent. Massie lost his primary on Tuesday night by 10 points. Also, Trump has endorsed indicted and impeached Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) over the incumbent U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) in the Senate runoff. Could this help throw the race to State Rep. James Talarico (D-TX)? We will see. And of course, we'll talk about Trump's slush fund with the IRS that funds January 6th offenders. Since this is making Senate Republicans very nervous heading into the 2026 midterms, we propose Democrats pitch this to voters as the Thank You For Beating Cops Fund.     Racist Gerrymandering Won't Be Enough To Stop Justin Pearson

    We continue covering the assault on voting rights following the Supreme Court's decision to gut the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Republican state legislatures in Southern states like Tennessee, Louisiana and Alabama have wasted no time eliminating Black districts, stripping Black voters of their voices. Our guest, State Rep. Justin Pearson (D-TN), correctly states that the government can act quite fast when it comes to suppressing voters. We're very grateful Rep. Pearson was able to make time to explain how all of this happened and how white supremacy has morphed into roles of power in states like Tennessee taking the forms of judges, sheriffs and governors. Pearson argues that Democrats must heavily invest more in local infrastructure, especially in the South, if our Democracy is going to survive. Since the 2010 midterms, Democrats have been asleep at the wheel regarding local elections but thanks to Trump, voters now understand the importance of roles like Secretaries of State. However, the big question is whether Republicans' racist mistakes with these undemocratic powergrabs could actually backfire and motivate huge voter turnout in states like Tennessee heading into the 2026 midterms. Despite all of this, Pearson makes a very compelling case that we the people can fight back against racist gerrymandering by engaging and motivating everyone we know to vote.     Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is no stranger to having to deal with “Department of War” Secretary, Pete Hegseth. This time, Hegseth wants the Pentagon to investigate Kelly over comments Kelly made about U.S. weapon stockpiles amid the Iran War, claiming Kelly “leaked classified information”. There’s just one problem: the remarks Kelly made that have Hegseth in such a drunken rage are actual public quotes Hegseth made himself. No, you’re not drunk like Hegseth at a strip club, you read that correctly. Senator Kelly nails it when he described Hegseth as “Hegseth doing an impression of Colin Jost impersonating Hegseth”. So why is Hegseth going after Kelly exactly? It’s because clowns like Hegseth and Trump are scared of actual leadership. Kelly joins us on the Find Out Podcast to explain how the Trump Administration is the least pro-Veteran administration he’s ever dealt with because of their attacks on Veterans freedom of speech.     Texas Republicans Aren't Ready For This Latino Deputy Sheriff Running For Congress As A Democrat

    Given the latest news regarding gerrymandering and Republicans in the South doing everything they can to eliminate black districts, we're very pleased to have congressional candidate, Johnny Garcia (D-TX) on today's show. He wants to prove that gerrymandering won't be enough for the GOP to prevent a Blue Wave in the 2026 midterm elections. Garcia is a Deputy Sheriff running in the newly redrawn 35th district. Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) ordered the Texas GOP state legislature to redraw the maps to provide the GOP with five additional congressional seats because Trump requested it. However, the big issue is that these new districts were redrawn based on the 2024 Presidential Election results where Trump gained support among Latino male voters. After experiencing two years of fascism, tariffs and ICE terrorizing Latino communities, Garcia argues that many Latino male voters in his district have overwhelming voter regret. Garcia makes the case that the Democratic Party must fight for old school Democratic values that Latino communities care about if they want to flip this district. Garcia outlines his platform to tackle affordability by preventing Trump from enforcing more illegal tariffs and strengthening the Affordable Care Act.     OBGYN Explains What Happens If The Supreme Court Upholds Abortion pill ban

    The Supreme Court recently put a hold on the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in a lawsuit by Louisiana banning access to mifepristone by mail. The ruling came from (check notes) Justice Sam Alito upon request from the FDA and the drug companies that manufacture Mifepristone. Mifepristone is considered an abortion pill and is made available to everyone in the mail courtesy of blue states like California and New York's shield laws. While this is a surprising move by a very conservative Supreme Court, it's also a temporary stay. So what happens if the Supreme Court decides to lift the ban? According to our guest, OBGYN, PA Nikki Sapiro Vinckier, author of the book, We Deserve More, this could lead to gutting abortion rights even more than when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.On this episode of the Find Out Podcast, Vinckier explains how these "pro-life" Republican red states aren't just about punishing women for having abortions. The repercussions of these laws have led to a rise in the infant mortality rate in states like Texas and an increase in the number of miscarriages. For a pregnant woman right now, there's no place more dangerous than living in one of these Red States with strict laws.In other news, Trump still hasn't solved the war in Iran and he loves bragging about passing dementia tests.     With ballots going out to California voters on May 4th, the governor's race is in full force and voters are starting to pay attention. Fresh off her New York Post B+ rated performance in the latest gubernatorial debate, we are very excited to have Former Congresswoman Katie Porter (D-CA) join us on this episode of the Find Out Podcast. Known for flipping a very red district in 2018 and going viral for grilling banking executives with her whiteboards while serving on the Financial Services Committee, Porter has been running as the Housing Candidate in this race pushing an agenda to make housing more affordable in California. Porter is also known for speaking her mind and being blunt and direct. She recently called her opponents "teenage boys" during the debate but she has some pretty choice words to describe one particular candidate, Riverside Sheriff Chad Bianco (R-CA), on the show.We'll also discuss the Supreme Court's recent attack on voting rights and what impact this has on racial gerrymandering for upcoming elections. We'll also discuss how Democrats need to stop using affordability as a buzzword when discussing the issue with voters and how honesty is the best way for a Democrat who flipped a red district to continue expanding their winning margin every election year.
