The Final Push for Cereals 2026, and Rain at Last After Nine Weeks Dry

With Cereals 2026 just days away, it is all hands on deck to get the Trailer of Dreams onto site and show ready. In this episode we lay a woodchip path to keep the mud at bay, load up the merchandise, and get the beer, the gin and the branded barrels ready for the stand. After nine weeks of dry weather we also finally get the rain we have been praying for, and we look at what almost 100mm could mean for the crops and for harvest, with the barley already changing colour. Back at base, work continues on the new fertiliser store, where we walk through the bund and containment system built to catch any spill, and tell the cautionary tale of a leak that took years to put right. We also host a group of Nuffield Global Focus scholars from around the world, hear the topics they are researching, and welcome a busy day of international visitors before everyone heads to the show. Elsewhere there is more concrete around the yard, a strong run of output from the sprayers, seed planning for next season, and a few birthday surprises along the way. From show preparation to honest talk about weather, harvest and the realities of running a modern farm, this is another look behind the scenes of a modern farming business. The Trailer of Dreams Is Finally Ready for Cereals, and a Leap of Faith in France

After months of work, the Trailer of Dreams is finally coming together ahead of Cereals 2026. In this episode we get inside for the full transformation, from the bar and seating area to the merchandise space and the wrap, as the team work flat out to get it show ready and onto a very muddy site in time. We also reveal what we will have on the stand, including the notebooks, pens, bags, tops and a limited run of sunglasses, plus free beer on the RAGT stand. To mark a milestone fiftieth birthday, we also head to mid-west France to see friends Joe and Rob, who sold up in the UK and bought 270 hectares to start again from scratch. We tour the farm, talk through the beef and sheep enterprise and the honest reality of moving the whole family abroad, and get into the surprising reasons it can be easier to farm in France than at home. From honest farming conversations to the build-up to the biggest show of the year, this is another look behind the scenes of a modern farming business. Why We Switched to Super Singles, A Deep Dive Into Big Ag Tyres With Goodyear Titan

When you are putting big horsepower to the ground, the tyres matter more than most people realise. In this episode we sit down with Scott Sloan, who has flown in from the USA, to take a proper look at the 1100 super singles on our Fendt and why we moved away from duals. We cover compaction, flotation, VF technology and the real cost of getting your tyre pressures wrong, with some yield numbers that genuinely surprised us. Scott also walks us through how to read the stampings on a tyre, the story behind Goodyear and Titan, and a real-world case study from a grower in Illinois who paid for a full set of tyres in a single season just by switching off his row crop duals. Elsewhere on the farm, the Trailer of Dreams is being wrapped and finished ahead of Cereals 2026, and we get our first look at the P.X Lager, brewed from our own barley and ready to pour on the stand. With the weather finally turning and the crops ear filling, we also take a moment to look at how the season is shaping up before harvest. Night Spraying in the Heat, One Year On With Our 48m Horsch Sprayers

With temperatures rising, we switch to night spraying to give our crops the best possible conditions while making the most of every spraying opportunity. In this episode we prepare the sprayers, explain exactly what products are going into the tank, and head out into the oats after dark. One year on from taking delivery of our 48-metre Horsch sprayers, we also look back at how they’ve performed, what we’ve learned, and whether we’d make the same decision again. Elsewhere on the farm, work continues on the Trailer of Dreams as it gets wrapped ahead of Cereals 2026, more concrete is poured around the yard, potato boxes arrive ready for the party, and the never-ending list of jobs continues. From machinery reviews to real-world crop protection, this is another honest look behind the scenes of a modern farming business. 💬 If you were buying a new sprayer tomorrow, would you choose 36m or 48m? The Hottest Day of the Year… What Does It Mean for Farming Profitability?

This week we film through the hottest day of the year so far, taking a closer look at how the heat is affecting crop progress and what it could mean for the profitability of farming this season. We check in on the wheat and barley as conditions continue to dry out, discuss whether it’s simply too hot to concrete effectively, and explain the long-term thinking behind continued investment in infrastructure around the farm. Alongside the crop updates, there’s ongoing work repairing broken corners around the yard, dealing with bank holiday fly tipping, seeding grassed areas and moving machinery with the low loader. We also take a look inside a classic 1980s Mercedes and continue improvements to one of the farm houses. A real snapshot of farming during a hot, dry spell where every weather change can have a major impact on the season ahead. Can We Finish the Trailer of Dreams Before Cereals 2026?

The countdown to Cereals 2026 is officially on, and progress continues on the long-awaited Trailer of Dreams as we push to have it ready in time. Inside Syngenta’s Test Farm. Hybrid Wheat, Biologicals & Sustainable Farming

In this episode we visit one of Syngenta’s major agricultural test sites at the Allerton Project, exploring the research and field trials helping shape the future of farming. We take a look at trials involving hybrid wheat, biological products, drainage systems and soil management, while discussing one of the biggest questions facing modern agriculture, what does sustainability in farming actually mean? Along the way we explore whether cattle could play a larger role in replacing artificial fertiliser, debate whether ploughing still has a place in modern systems, and see how researchers are measuring gas release and soil compaction in the field. We also discuss the regulations surrounding biological products, how commercial partners support agricultural research, and what it’s really like managing a working farm that also acts as a large-scale test site. A fascinating insight into the science, trials and difficult decisions shaping the future of UK agriculture.
