S2E12 - The Eyes Have It: "Oolong"

We've just broken into the second half of season two, with THE EYES HAVE IT, an episode in which a purple light makes Superman blind, which in turn makes him forget how to use all his other senses! Lois loses two windows and a door, but also gains an elevator and a fire escape, so I suppose it all evens out in the end. Meanwhile, Jimmy searches for the secret code to figuring out the laaaadies, Perry's unfortunate timing causes a misunderstanding between Clark and Mayson, and Lois is imbibed with a bunch of useless factoids that she spouts at random intervals. It's all a bit silly, but never forget that adorable hug between Martha and Clark!  This week's special feature is: Tea Tasting! * * * * * The Eyes Have It first aired on January 22, 1995 Written by Kathy McCormick Directed by Bill D'Elia Starring K Callan, Eddie Jones, Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain, Justin Whalin, and Lane Smith Featuring Farrah Forke, David Bowe, Gerrit Graham, Brian Reddy, Billy Mayo, Harvey J. Alperin, Bill D'Elia, and whole lotta PerryButs. * * *  Tangents Include: Star-Crossed Summer, by Devon Daniels; The Chosen; My Girl 2 * * * FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E11 - Chi Of Steel: "Get Your Own Damn Coffee!" (w/Donna Burton!)

It's party time! Martha and Jonathan return to Metropolis to host the most epic shindig ever thrown at Clark's apartment! There will be food. There will be Lois. There will be awkward conversation and Mom being embarrassing. It's adorable. Meanwhile, other stuff... happens? Clark has a friend outside the Daily Planet who he confides in about Lois and then treats terribly. Lois combats rampant sexism that has suddenly reared its head in Metropolis. And a hooded robber wearing magical bracelets causes... minor disruptions and turns Superman into a Looney Tune. Okay, so we have mixed feelings about this one, but you should still totally listen to this episode, BECAUSE our special feature this week is: FOLCFests, with Special Guest Donna Burton! Martha's Friday night "party" has NOTHING on FOLCFests! * * * * * Chi Of Steel first aired on January 8, 1995 Written by Hilary Bader Directed by James Hayman Starring K Callan, Eddie Jones, Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain, Justin Whalin, and Lane Smith Featuring Brian Doyle-Murray, Yuji Okumoto, Leila Lee Olsen, James Hong, Steve Eastin, Dana Lee, Michael Yama, Michael Leopard, Nathan Jung, and a microscopic amount of references to Chinese culture! * * *  Tangents Include: Quantum Leap, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Lapsang Souchong, The WB Network, UPN, The 49ers, Tom Snyder, Joan Of Arcadia, Ugly Betty * * * FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E10 - Metallo: "RoboThug"

Grab a cup of frozen yogurt and join us for Metallo! Lucy Lane is back, and she's taken the Jimmy route (and the eventual route of all the other Lanes) and gotten a new face. She's also dating a thug named Johnny Corben, whose crimes include stealing cars and robbing from the Daily Planet (Boo!) Lois doesn't like him when he's just a scummy human, but it only gets worse when two scientists turn Johnny into a smug lil cyborg. Meanwhile, Clark begins a multi-episode hotdog binge, Perry goes heavy on the sarcasm, Jimmy takes photos of ATMs, and Lois is suddenly a terrible cook. But on the bright side, she has a sister who can conjure random doors! Now that's a Superpower. Our special feature this week is: Metallo in the Comics! * * * * * Metallo first aired on January 1, 1995 Written by Tony Blake & Paul Jackson / Story by James Crocker Directed by James R. Bagdonas Starring Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain, Lane Smith, and Justin Whalin Featuring Scott Valentine, Roxana Zal, Christian Clemenson, John Rubinstein, Louis Mustillo, DeeDee Rescher, Mary Pat Gleason, Marla Frees, Frederick Dawson, Kehli O'Byrne, Brian Richardson, Wally Crowder, Doug Toby, and a magically-appearing door just waiting to be slammed! * * *  Tangents Include: The Hong Kong L&C LaserDisc, a possible future LEGO Daily Planet set, Clueless, Pride & Prejudice (1995), Family Ties, Windows 95 * * * FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E09 - Season's Greedings: "Gimme The Rats!"

It's Christmastime, and Clark can't hide his excitement. Yet he wonders why Lois is unenthusiastic -- forgetting, of course, that last Christmas Lois had half a dozen attempts made on her life. This year's bound to be better, right? Enter: SPACE RATS! They're here to poison the masses and cause everyone to A) Act greedy, B) Act childish and greedy, C) Act childish and greedy and have their pitch raise by an octave, or D) ALL OF THE ABOVE! An unlike the pheromone spray back in season 1, this compound even affects Clark! Hijinks, prepare to ensue! With a fun supporting cast that includes The Jeffersons alums Isabel Sanford and Sherman Hemsley and Eight Is Enough patriarch Dick Van Patten, Season's Greedings is a sweet treat. So hop aboard the sleigh and don't worry about being allergic to reindeer, because we've hired a guy to pull it. You might know him -- he spends a lot of time flying in and out of Metropolis. Yep. You'll never guess who. Our special feature this week is: Toy Fads From Our Youth!  * * * * * Season's Greedings first aired on December 4, 1994 Written by Dean Cain Directed by Randall Zisk Starring Eddie Jones, K Callan, Justin Whalin, Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher, and Lane Smith Featuring Isabel Sanford, Sherman Hemsley, Dick Van Patten, Denise Richards, Dom Irrera, Sandee Van Dyke, Jon Menick, Doug Llewelyn, Brian Wagner, Sharon Thomas, Warren Farlow, and a completely unpredictable Christmas miracle! * * *  Tangents Include: Denise Richards, 1990s Candid Camera, Furbys, Tickle Me Elmo, Squiggle Wiggle Writer, Koosh Balls, Game Genie, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Tamagotchi, Mall Madness, Electronic Dream Phone, and more! * * * FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E08 - A Bolt From The Blue: "No Cheese"

It's A BOLT FROM THE BLUE! Superman is, of course, the Blue, and when he's struck by a lighting bolt ⚡️ while touching another human, the other guy gets Superpowers. Although New Guy will save your puppy from a burning building, it'll cost you $29.95. That's the wrong way to be a Superhero (at least according to Superman, who couldn't ever be wrong himself.) MEANWHILE, Lois just wants the scoop on how New Guy got his powers. Could it have anything to do with... Superman? Of course it does. But Superman's not telling. To make matters wackier, New Guy might just have a little crush on Lois! With hilarious acting from Leslie Jordan and Cindy Williams, there's nary a dull moment in this episode. Tune in for flying rats, invisible cats, nonexistent cheese, random references to American historical figures, and more! Oh yeah, and did we mention Gretchen Kelly is back? Wait till you meet her special friend! 👀 Our special feature this week is: Cheese Tasting!   * * * * * A Bolt From The Blue first aired on November 20, 1994 Written by Kathy McCormick Directed by Philip J. Sgriccia Starring Eddie Jones, Justin Whalin, K Callan, Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain, and Lane Smith Featuring Leslie Jordan, Cindy Williams, Denise Crosby, Jean Sincere, Dan Stanton, Don Stanton, Rachel Winfree, Delaune Michel, and a fluffy little puppy! * * *  FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E07 - That Old Gang Of Mine: "An Error In Judgment"

That Old Gang Of Mine: It's sad, but we love it. It's angsty, but we really love it. It's ridiculous, but who cares? LOIS HAS FEELINGS FOR CLARK! ❤️❤️❤️ A scientist decides to clone/resurrect 1930s gangsters with the hopes of altering their personalities and making them good citizens. For... reasons?... he brings back a bunch at once and, whoops, they all begin taking over Metropolis! At first, it's kind of funny. Bonnie is horny. Clyde doesn't know about credit cards. Al Capone thinks he can bribe Perry White. And John Dillinger is a bit too giddy with the dynamite. We also meet Lois & Clark's hungry-hungry informant, Bobby Bigmouth, who leads L&C to an illegal gaming club, where Lois loses a lot more than just a bucketful of nickels. 😭 This evergreen fan-favorite has inspired numerous fanfic and discussion, especially about the end scene. If you know, you know. If you don't -- go rewatch it. Then laugh & cry along with us as we revisit That Old Gang Of Mine! Our special feature this week is: A profile on Justin Whalin, our new "Jimmy Olsen!"  Plus: bonus content on Dr. Hamilton in the comics!   * * * * * That Old Gang Of Mine first aired on November 13, 1994 Written by Gene Miller & Karen Kavner Directed by Lorraine Senna Starring Justin Whalin, Lane Smith, Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher, Eddie Jones, and K Callan Featuring William Devane, Joseph Gian, Amy Hathaway, Robert Clohessy, Ray Abruzzo, Sal Viscuso, Lonnie Burr, Joe Ochman, Shelly Lipkin, Mike Barger, Jerry Lyden, Jim Michaels, and a missing bucket of nickels. * * *  FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M. S2E06 - Operation Blackout: "Ten Farmers And A Cow"

Operation Blackout: The "Army" Episode -- and yet so much more. Premiering on October 30, 1994, Operation Blackout may be the closest L&C ever came to having a true Halloween episode. Consider the scene in which a perfectly-timed power outage coincides with a man in a wig pushing Lois out of her tenth-story-apartment window! Lest we forget that Lois lives on the third story. Meanwhile, from the depths of the Daily Planet basement emerges a linotype machine (completely operational despite a recent "incident" at said building) and with it comes Andy Tucker, here to awaken everyone with a 3-mile radius.  Nobody's getting any sleep tonight! Listen along as we unravel the episode. We PROMISE not to YELL!   Our special feature this week is an ode to VCRS! * * * * * Operation Blackout first aired on October 30, 1994 Written by Kate Boutilier Directed by Michael Watkins Starring Teri Hatcher, Lane Smith, Dean Cain, and Justin Whalin Featuring Melora Hardin, Charles Rocket, J.T. Walsh, Bill Erwin, Tom Hatten, Cary Bolton, John Lehr, Kimble Jemison, Craig Gini, and Lois's magical, shape-shifting apartment building! * * *  FOLCS Forever: A Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman Rewatch Podcast Our website: https://folcsforeverpod.wixsite.com/podcast Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/folcsforever Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61575578566401 Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/folcsforever.bsky.social Hosted by Molly P., Julie P., and Jenn M.
