Process pioneers reveal the science, stories and secrets to make processes work - so you can, too.

Episode 1

Why AI gets decisions wrong

AI can crunch every number and still miss what matters most. In this episode, we’re joined by Devavrat Shah, MIT professor and Chief Scientist of Enterprise AI at Celonis, to step into a small shoe store on New York’s Upper West Side. An AI agent recommends ordering 30 pairs of the best-selling shoe, but it doesn’t know about the weekend promotion, the unreliable supplier, the nearly full warehouse or finance’s new spending limit. We look at how AI uses probability to calculate possible futures, why Process Intelligence gives it the business context it’s missing, and how probabilistic AI and deterministic rules work together to reach the right call. -- Chapters -- 00:00: Intro 02:05: Chapter 1: Everything is probability - from data to decisions 11:03: Chapter 2: Giving AI business context - the process brain 17:16: Chapter 3: Rules, probability and agents - building context-aware autonomy 22:23: Wrap-Up -- About the Show -- Trust the Process is the show where process pioneers reveal the science, stories and secrets to make processes work, so you can, too. Hosted by Angela-Sophia Gebert from the Celonis Academic Alliance, it’s the podcast that demystifies the world of Process Mining and Process Intelligence.
