At Sportzball, we’re a podcast about the NFL… sort of. We don’t obsess over inches and yards—we’re more interested in the dumb thing that wide receiver said. While pundits obsess over the next GOAT, we attempt to bring joy to your miserable Mondays (because let’s be honest, the next GOAT probably isn’t on your team). Built on a decade of friendship and obsessive fandom for their opposing teams, we create a welcoming space for the casual fan or the reluctant but supportive partner dragged into game day. Our mission is simple: we want to bring the LALZ (Levity and Laughter… Z is for Sportzball) to your NFL fandom. Join Des & Drew as we redefine sports culture because at the end of the day, it’s just sports—it’s not that serious.

NFL Week 8 | Did Lamar play his final game as a Raven? And Chicago scores BIG with Jeffery Simmons

Another weekend of games, another weekend of overtime, upsets, and backup QBs finding their time to shine. The Bears take down the mighty Seattle Defense at Lumen Field, the Raiders and Jets have a shootout down to the wire, the Cowboys have a historically bad collapse against the man, the myth, the legend Gardner Minshew, and Baker Mayfield puts up ANOTHER dominant win against the Falcons. Oh…he didn’t complete a single pass? But he won and that happens all the time, right? That hasn’t happened in over 50 years? Ok then.  We saw the Vikings lose their first game of the season and the Chargers are still looking for their first win, but the main story of the weekend has to be Lamar Jackson’s potentially season-ending injury. Is Baltimore’s season officially over? And with Lamar Jackson’s contract reaching the end, was this the final game of Lamar Jackson in purple and black? If so, Drew has a wild take for his next landing spot.  Keep up on all the NFL news you're not going to get anywhere else *seriously* who else talks about the NFL except us: Instagram: @sportzballpod TikTok: @sportzballpod YouTube: Sportzball

NFL Week 8 | Bo Nix & Mile High Magic take down The Chiefs for 1st place in the AFC West!!

WOAH, Drew looks and sounds a little different this week right? Or is that Eagles super fan, Perry? Whoever it is they won’t stop screaming about Nick Siriani. After we figure out who’s who, it’s time to talk Broncos. Last week it was all about The Dolphins first win of the season. That was cute and nice and all but Des and The Broncos would like their spotlight back.  Drew gets to mumble a little bit about (in all seriousness) a pretty close game with The Patriots, before Des dissects yet another heart attack-inducing 4th quarter game by The Denver Broncos. Jonah Coleman is HERE after a 100+ yard game. Bo Nix continues to make haters think they are right in the first half and then eating their words by the fourth quarter. Sean Payton gets his 200th win, and the Broncos are 1st in the AFC West and hand The Chiefs their second loss in a row. Plus, is there some drama with JK Dobbins and the rest of The Broncos that points to a Jonathan Taylor trade? NFL Week 7 | Eagles’ season over? Falcons’ season back? A.I. is coming for us all?

Well well well, this episode certainly doesn’t start the way you think it would as Des and Drew battle with the ethics and use of A.I. - but don’t worry, it only keeps going down that road for nearly a full 30 minutes. But then they FINALLY get into the NFL, going over the 49ers and Chiefs finally getting their first loss, and with the Dolphins winning, that leaves the Chargers as the only team in the NFL that is still looking for their first win. Are there any new coaches on the hot seat after week 7? How did Mike McDaniel survive the bye week?  The Colts started sending players right as recording started so the crew can talk about the Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner trades, as well as if Jonathan Taylor is going anywhere. Plus, does Aaron Rodgers think Peaky Blinders takes place in Paris? Are the Falcons good? Jameis Winston gets benched and still is making headlines, and are the Seahawks the same Super Bowl caliber-team they were last year? NFL Week 7 | THE DOLPHINS WIN THE DOLPHINS WIN FINS UP!

Oh baby oh baby OH BABY! What a week to be a Sportzballer! The Broncos get their 5th win of the season and climb right back up in the AFC West and get closer to challenging a Chiefs team that the nation saw bleed on Sunday night.  AND. The Mighty Miami Dolphins get their first win of the season, Jeff Hafley gets his first win as an NFL head coach and they get to do it to the dumb stupid Jets. If you thought Drew was insufferable when the Dolphins were losing you can’t begin to imagine what he’s like after a win. Was Drew right that a loss to the previously winless Dolphins would get Aaron Glenn fired? Did Drew call all the reasons the Dolphins ultimately would get their first win of the season with Ollie Gordon, Malik Willis, Caleb Douglas, and a struggling Jets rush defense? Is Drew the one writing this right now? Who knows!  But don’t you worry, Dummies, Drew lets Des talk for a bit to go over the win against the Cardinals. Bo Nix and the Broncos offense finally get some life in them and go off for over 300 yards. Nix breaks Broncos records and joins NFL QB royalty, and is there some drama in the Broncos’ running back room with J.K. Dobbins? NFL Week 6 | Who's to blame over Jalen Hurts' health & losing to the Titans gets you fired

It’s League Ke$hup time baby. While the crew talks about all the happenings and goings on around the league, a lot of time is obviously spent on the devastating news coming out of Philadelphia and Jalen Hurts season ending before it even really got started. Who’s most at fault? Should Nick Sirianni be forced to face the media by himself, and is there a chance that Jalen Hurts’ career is done?  Plus one loss to the previously winless Titans is enough to get Chris Ballard fired as the GM of the Colts. Mike McCarthy sprains his ankle and spends halftime in the medical blue tent, the Cardinals have more wins in SoFi than the Rams and Chargers combined, CJ Gardner-Johnson keeps spitting everywhere, and are the Chargers worse than the Dolphins? OH! ALSO Drew WHOOPS Des in fantasy football. NFL Week 6 | The Broncos (defense) won and the Dolphins didn’t lose this week??

So Des and Drew had a Sunday off with the Dolphins on a bye and the Broncos on a mini-bye after their Thursday night win against the Seahawks. But don’t think that will stop these two ding dongs from talking. First Drew breaks down some of the small bits of news that came out during the Dolphins bye week including releasing kicker Riley Paterson and signing kicker Zane Gonzalez, and Drew’s heart broke because they also released breaking Storm Duck. Everyone say your last quacks. Then Drew goes into some of the Brian Flores drama AND gives us 5 reasons why he thinks the Dolphins will get their first win of the season against the New York Jets. Then Des emphatically talks about the Thursday night victory the Broncos had over the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seahawks. Well kind of emphatically, one because it feels like a year ago and two because only half of the team is giving her a reason to be excited. Nik Bonitto and the defense is looking elite, sacking Sam Darnold 5 times after sacking Justin Herbert 5 times last week. Kris Abrams-Draine got a pick and Ja’Quan McMillian got his second career game winning overtime interception. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows in Broncos Country as Bo Nix is on the hot seat with some Broncos fans…is there a possibility he could be benched? NFL Week 5 | Overtime fiascos, Buccaneers upset and Dre Greenlaw, welcome to the Villain Board | Ep. 52

It’s week 5 and Des and Drew aren’t the only ones who don’t know how to manage their time. Before the crew gets into the Dan Quinn, Jayden Daniels and Commanders OT debacle, they try to break down the rest of the NFL’s week 5 games.  Jaylon Daniels has a new fan in Des and he and the winless Bucs go into Dallas and take down the Cowboys. A disgruntled driver fires a shot at Dak Prescott and another absolute disaster at the end of the game between the Eagles and the Jags. Plus a fiery rivalry gets hotter between Ben Johnson’s Bears and Matt LaFleur’s Packers and not even the Weather Channel wants the Titans/Texans game.  Then it’s time to add Dre Greenlaw officially to the villain board and Des and Drew couldn’t get enough of Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Nate Landman and all of the Monday night fireworks between the Rams and Bills. Oh and about big boy Mevis… Keep up on all the NFL news you're not going to get anywhere else *seriously* who else talks about the NFL except us: Instagram: @sportzballpod TikTok: @sportzballpod YouTube: Sportzball

NFL Week 5 |The Dolphins are breaking Drew and is Bo Nix breaking down?

Well it took 5 weeks but the Dolphins have finally broken Drew. Although it could be getting even worse for him because it is ONLY week 5. Drew is not getting any wiggles from Malik Willis, but Ollie Gordon and Jacob Rodriguez are killing it?? You know what, it’s just not enough anymore. Ja’Marr Chase had an absolutely insane catch and Willis fumbled TWICE and was picked off TWICE (both by Jordan Battle who called his shot earlier in the week.)  As far as the Broncos go, it’s also not looking good at all…but at least they managed to win? Well, the offense doesn’t look good. The defense led by Des’ Bae, Nik Bonitto’s 2 sacks, had 5 total sacks on Justin Herbert, and a pick by Brandon Jones AND a fumble caused by Talanoa Hufunga. But Bo Nix and offense still looks sluggish and slow even though Sean Payton took over play calling for Webb Davis. Is it finally time to have a conversation around what is happening to Bo Nix?
