So, it made sense that in 1980, everybody knew about Granger Taylor, the soft-spoken “Industrial Archaeologist” who lived on his parent's farm in the woods and spent his days restoring old vehicles. But this made it all the more mysterious when one day; Granger taped a note to his parent's door, told his best friend he was meeting aliens and vanished into the thick of an intense storm, never to be seen again.

But after a call to Chandler’s college revealed that he hadn’t been telling the truth, both Bart and Krista went missing before pieces of their bodies were found scattered across Wisconsin. Everyone surrounding the Haldersons learned about Chandler’s web of lies and the lengths he would go to to cover them up.

    Rural America has been full of folklore, tall tales, and cryptids since its beginning. Whether attributed, falsely sometimes, to Indigenous stories of strange creatures and giant animals, or sometimes the result of new animals unfamiliar to early settlers, or tales of jackalopes, snipes, and hundreds of other odd creatures that were in the stories of early settlers around their campfires. However, many of these stories don’t just exist in the historical tales of early America; some have the staying power to exist even today. The Jersey Devil still haunts the meadowlands; Bigfoot is somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, and, most famously, Mothman still chases down drivers to this day.

    Judy Rawlings was born in 1985 and grew up in Sophia, a tiny community near Asheboro, North Carolina. Her mother, Tammy, and her sister, Tiffany, said that Judy was (quote) “The sweetest sister anybody could ask for” and was the clown of the bunch to keep everybody happy. On the morning of October 2nd, 2001, Tammy left their home for a Doctor’s Appointment in Greensboro, around thirty minutes away. She would be reported missing and found some time later, begging the question, what happened to Judy Rawlings?
