LIV’s 2026 season ended in Indianapolis with the team championship canceled, uncertainty surrounding what comes next and a final broadcast that Trey Wingo and Justin Ray say felt much more like a goodbye than the end of an ordinary season. Michael La Sasso became LIV’s youngest winner at 22, then immediately filed paperwork for DP World Tour Q-School. Bryson DeChambeau followed the finale with a cryptic “great run” post. And Justin explains why the tone of LIV’s final television broadcast made it nearly impossible to believe the league will return looking anything like the product we’ve known over the last several years. Dae’Quan Wright could be headed from an NFL roster straight back to college football, and his situation exposes a much bigger problem with the sport. Wright spent the summer in NFL training camp with the Cleveland Browns before being waived. If he clears waivers, he plans to join Lane Kiffin at LSU for the 2026 season. The issue isn’t players getting paid. College athletes should be able to maximize their value. The problem is what happened after college football changed: nobody established meaningful guardrails. Wright is the latest example of a system where roster spots, eligibility, NIL and player movement continue to evolve while nobody seems to know exactly where the boundaries are. At the center of it all is the NCAA. It saw massive change coming, failed to create a workable framework and left schools, coaches and players to figure it out themselves. Wyndham Clark just won the BMW Championship at Bellerive, his third PGA Tour win of 2026, and the Player of the Year race against Scottie Scheffler is suddenly a real argument heading into the Tour Championship at East Lake. So we are resurfacing this one. In June, days after winning his second US Open at Shinnecock Hills, Wyndham Clark sat down with Trey Wingo at the Travelers Championship for a full interview about the win, the crowd and the Oakmont locker incident that followed him all year. He does not dodge it. Wyndham calls the locker his worst moment, talks about the embarrassment and shame he worked through, and explains why he believes a second US Open ends the fluke conversation for good. "I don't think they can say it's a fluke," he says, pointing to the fact that he did it paired with Scottie Scheffler and with Sam Burns chasing him down. Wyndham describes what it was like to play four days at Shinnecock with the gallery openly rooting against him, cheering missed putts and staying silent on good shots. He says it is something he had never experienced in golf outside of a Ryder Cup, and he draws a distinction he is careful about: he calls it a Long Island thing rather than a New York thing, noting that people in Manhattan kept apologizing to him during his media run. He walks through the final round in detail. The six-shot lead that shrank, the bogey on eight, the moment his caddie told him on 12 that it was down to three, and the decision on 16 to go for it rather than protect par. He also explains the putter change at RBC Heritage in Hilton Head that turned his season, the 11-under round at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson where he ran down Scheffler, and the ball striking work with his new coach that he thinks is the key to staying consistent in majors. Wyndham has been open about therapy and mental health, and he says dealing with last year was significantly harder than anything that happened at Shinnecock. Once he got through the embarrassment and shame, he figured he could handle almost anything golf throws at him. The interview closes with the Masters leaderboard game, where the names are replaced by what each player is known for, and Wyndham gets to see how he is described.
