The Stanford Prison Experiment Was Worse Than You Think

What happens when ordinary people are given power over others? In 1971, Stanford University psychologist Philip Zimbardo set out to answer that question with the **Stanford Prison Experiment** a psychological study that was supposed to last two weeks but was shut down after just six days.In this episode of **ZomBabes**, we're diving into the disturbing history of the Stanford Prison Experiment, also known as the Zimbardo Prison Experiment. What started as a study of human behavior, authority, and the effects of power quickly spiraled into something much darker.We cover how 24 men were selected and assigned roles as prisoners and guards, the disturbing conditions they were subjected to, and how quickly the balance of power began to shift.
