How a Busy Mom of 5 Went From Overwhelm and Burnout to Grounded and Confident

Balance is a tempting word when you’re raising kids, carrying a career, and trying to keep your own dreams alive, but it can also be the fastest path to burnout and self-blame.  In this week's episode of The ROCKSTAR Mom Podcast, Megan sits down with Dr. Leslie Davis, a former client and true rock ROCKSTAR Mom, to talk honestly about what happens when life forces a transition you didn’t ask for and you’re still expected to “hold it all together.”  We dig into the mindset shift that changes everything: capability doesn’t equal capacity. If you’re a high achiever who keeps adding plates because you can, you’ll recognize the moment when one more demand could tip the whole system.  Leslie walks through how coaching helped her get grounded, stop white-knuckling outcomes, and start making values-based decisions that support real boundaries. If you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or on the fence about getting support, let this be your “what if it goes right?” moment.  You can learn more about Dr. Leslie Davis ⬇️ Check out Dr.Leslie's Instagram Visit Dr. Leslie's Website Grab her Freebie We’d love to hear your feedback! Ep 35 | 3-Steps to Let Go of All-or-Nothing Thinking

You know that moment where you crave alone time and then immediately feel guilty because you love your kids so much? Or you’re proud of your career growth but can’t shake the fear that you’re missing something at home? That push-pull isn’t a character flaw, it’s a mindset trap, and it often shows up as all-or-nothing thinking: if you can’t do it perfectly, you skip it, quit it, or beat yourself up for it.  If you consider yourself a recovering perfectionist, this episode is for you!  In this week's episode of The ROCKSTAR Mom podcast Megan dig into a life-changing concept called duality: two things can be true at once. Duality is how you build emotional flexibility instead of rigid perfectionism.  We talk about why high-achieving women and ambitious moms chase control and certainty, how that strategy can lead to burnout, and why “perfect balance” is a tempting goal that usually makes you feel worse. You’ll leave with three practical steps you can use today!  Listen in & be sure to share this episode with a friend.  We’d love to hear your feedback! Ep 34 | Why Learning to “Mother Yourself” Is The Most Important Way to Flourish in Motherhood and Life

Perfectionism doesn’t disappear when you become a mom, it mutates. The pressure gets louder, the stakes feel higher, and suddenly your old “push through it” strategies leave you anxious, guilty, and exhausted.  This week Megan is joined by Sarah Lowell Harmon, a licensed mental health counselor, mindfulness teacher, and founder of the School of Mom, to talk about what actually helps: mindful mothering that starts with mothering ourselves.  Sarah shares the personal story that shaped her work, including a family mental health crisis, estrangement, and the deep “missing support” many women feel when they enter motherhood.  We get practical with tools grounded in mindfulness, self-compassion research, parts work, and nervous system regulation. Sarah explains how inner voices like anxiety and the inner critic can be protective parts rather than problems to silence, and why emotions like anger often carry boundary wisdom.  You’ll leave with a simple reset you can use in real time, including the MOM Pause and the three self-compassion steps that start with the words, “This is hard.”  Check out more about Sarah Harmon and her work below :  https://www.instagram.com/the.schoolofmom/ https://theschoolofmom.com/ https://theschoolofmom.com/start We’d love to hear your feedback! Ep 32 | 3 Steps To Help You Find More Balance as a Working Mom

Balance is the word we chase that keeps making us feel like we’re failing. If you’ve ever been at work thinking you should be with your kids, then with your kids thinking about your inbox, your house, or your to-do list, you’re not alone. We all feel that way sometimes, my friend. In this week's episode, I'm sharing what finally shifted things for me as a mom of three and a two-time burnout survivor. (Hint: the real issue usually isn’t time management, it’s misalignment.) We dig into why “having it all” turns into overwhelm, exhaustion, and that invisible mental load you carry all day. When you’re operating on autopilot or living by someone else’s standards, everything feels urgent and you can’t be fully present anywhere. So we redefine the goal.  Instead of chasing 'perfect balance', we aim for harmony, internal peace, and a life that actually reflects your priorities and personal core values. You’ll walk away from this podcast episode with three practical steps to help you find your harmony! We’d love to hear your feedback! Send us a text ---- ➡️ Are you ready to get into action? Ep 30 | The Nervous System Reset: Practical Tools to Regain Peace & Calm with Michelle Grosser

In this week's episode of The ROCKSTAR Mom we talk with Michelle Grosser about why burnout is often a nervous system issue, not a motivation problem, and how stress shows up in the body long before we hit the wall. We share simple, body-based ways to shift out of anxiety, overwhelm, and shutdown so we can show up with more ease at work and at home.  We dive into :  • Michelle’s story from trial attorney to nervous system work after her burnout symptoms escalated  • Burnout as dorsal vagal collapse and what dysregulation really means  • Daily movement as the fastest way to complete the stress cycle without more intensity  • Stillness through removing input, reducing noise, and setting phone boundaries  • Play as a powerful safety signal that restores joy and connection  • In-the-moment resets including shaking and using cold temperature to calm the system  We’d love to hear your feedback!
