🎧 Boarding School Murder Mystery Season 2, Episode 1— Chapter 13: Why Is This School Such a Dick Magnet? Apparently asking inconvenient questions about a dead teacher has consequences. While the rest of Whisperen heads into town for a perfectly ordinary Saturday, Gwen begins her month of detention—where punishment turns into basketball, suspiciously helpful adults take an extremely long walk, and a private telephone offers her something Whisperen hasn’t: options. But once Gwen begins separating what she knows from what she suspects, she starts noticing something even more unsettling. Maybe the problem isn’t Canada. Maybe it’s Whisperen. 🔎 In This Episode — Spoiler-Free Gwen discovers that detention can apparently involve sporting-goods bureaucracy and accidental basketball competence. Being excluded from ordinary life hits harder than she expected. Two suspiciously helpful grandparents demonstrate the fine art of helping a teenager without technically helping a teenager. Gwen finally calls the mysterious Claire—and learns a new way to think about evidence, theories, and questions. Fresh coffee, friendship, and scientific inquiry lead Gwen toward a troubling new theory about Whisperen Academy. Just when the weekend seems almost survivable, somebody returns to campus who really shouldn’t need to be there. 📚 Previously in Part One Gwen came to Canada hoping an elite boarding school would give her a fresh start. Instead, her Social Studies teacher disappeared. His body was recovered from Whisperen Lake, and police declared his death an accident—even though he hated water, reportedly didn’t drink, and the evidence surrounding his boat made increasingly little sense. When Gwen kept asking questions, Whisperen Academy responded with a month of detention and warnings that her enrollment—and ability to remain in Canada as a student—could be reviewed. Now Gwen has been told to keep quiet. She is trying. Sort of. ⚠️ Content Advisory:References to bullying and past sexualized harassment of a minor, institutional intimidation, threats involving school enrollment and immigration status, anxiety, crying, discussion of a suspicious death/murder investigation, and emotionally coercive adult authority. 🎧 Listen Wherever You Get Your Podcasts Spotify • Apple Podcasts • YouTube • and beyond And if you want more audio fiction from Glory Fink: 🤠 Sadie Cohen: Bounty Hunterhttps://gloryfink.substack.com/s/sadie-cohen-bounty-hunter 😇 The Trouble with Angelshttps://gloryfink.substack.com/s/the-trouble-with-angels 🧚 Those D*mn Brownieshttps://gloryfink.substack.com/s/those-dmn-brownies 💛 Help This Mystery Find Its People If Gwen's latest predicament entertained you: ❤️ Tap the heart button 💬 Leave a comment: Which adult would you trust most if you were Gwen right now—the Bubbelehs, Claire, Officer Suarez, Raine, Mrs. Hematti… or somebody else entirely? 📤 Share this episode with somebody who enjoys boarding-school mysteries, clever young detectives, dark academia, strange adults, suspicious institutions, and entirely too much paperwork. 💛 Become a Financial Booster Paid subscriptions and tips directly support writing time, audio production, and the continued investigation of whatever on earth is wrong with Whisperen Academy. ☕ Become a paid subscriber to Gloryous Magazine or toss a few coins into the coffee fund: Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/glorywritestheblues Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/Glory-Fink CashApp: https://cash.app/$unicorncouncil Your support keeps indie storytelling caffeinated, curious, and asking questions somebody probably wishes it wouldn't. 🎙️ Chapter 13 Credits Written & Read by: Glory Fink Sound Engineering: Tom Fink Original Story Series: Gloryous Magazine on Substack 🎵 Music Theme Music: Curse of Old — Density & Time Additional Background Music: Monthaholic — Schwartzy Radar — The Grey Room Read or Listen if You Love: Boarding-school mysteries Clever young amateur detectives Diary-style storytelling Cozy mystery with an eerie edge Dark academia without losing the humor Suspicious administrators and institutional secrets Found family and unexpected adult allies Young protagonists who ask entirely too many questions Secret telephone calls and quiet acts of resistance Adults who know exactly how to help without admitting they are helping Small clues that become very large problems Nancy Drew Harriet the Spy A Series of Unfortunate Events Coming-of-age stories where curiosity is both a gift and a liability Mysteries where the adults insist everything is perfectly reasonable 📬 Follow the Investigation Subscribe to Gloryous Magazine for new chapters, audio episodes, and assorted evidence that Whisperen Academy is definitely behaving normally and there is absolutely nothing to investigate. 👉 https://gloryfink.substack.com/ ✅ New Here?
