Time For Life | E30 - Heart-to-Heart with Jason Gael

Heya folks, If you have missed yesterday’s episode of TIME FOR LIFE, you can catch up here. We had some technical difficulties but throughout stories (it’s Fall and spooky season after all) and humour, we managed to connect with our guest Jason Gael for a conversation on what brings him joy. Jason is very active on Substack and a lot of us know him throughout this social app, despite battling a stage 4 cancer. He is undergoing intensive medical treatments and taking strong antibiotics, which cause physical side effects and pain. The fact that he was able to join us and chat with us was therefore precious. Jason lives in Santa Cruz, California, a town known for its surf culture and history. He has amazing stories about his upbringing on the West Coast. We loved the fact that he shared how his first and middle names (Jason Orion Yossarian) spell out “Joy,” a fitting coincidence given the show’s theme ! Having nearly died in 2020, he has a deep gratitude for life and for precious moments with his son. During his hospital stay, his son gifted him an iPad and an Apple Pencil, which helped him rediscover his passion for drawing and comic creation. Throughout art, music, spirituality and many other things, he perseveres, despite life’s hardships and challenges. Jason, you’re what resilience is all about. Thank you. ❤️‍🔥🌎 ____ Thank you Mack Devlin ⛏️🫵👃, NeuroDivergent Hodgepodge, Terry Bruno, Sandy Homuth, and many others for tuning into my live video with Jason Gael and The Rebel Crone (Shālah)! Time For Life | E29 - An Ending Bringing Time for New Beginnings

Hello Substackers, If you missed this special episode of Wednesday’s Time For Life, here is the rerun! The key highlights of this conversation include: * Transition in Co-Hosts: Beth Cruz is stepping down as the regular co-host of Time for Life to focus on new ventures, though she will remain involved with Chronically Illing Out every Monday. Shayla B. Pookie(The Rebel Crone) is officially stepping in as the new co-host alongside Soso. * Beth’s New Business Launch: Beth announced her new business, Corvid and Crone Stones, specializing in hand-painted, resin-coated stone art inspired by nature and classic artwork (such as The Starry Night). She shared her personal journey of rediscovering her creativity, navigating postmenopause, and being diagnosed with ADHD. * Shayla’s Substack Journey & Projects: Shayla reflected on retiring from her social work/therapy career and using Substack to intentionally build connections with other women. She spoke about her co-hosted podcast Latchkey Hour (with her partner, Jason P. Odell 📷 ) and her show Coffee with the Crone. * In-Person Meeting in Quebec City: Soso and Shayla recalled meeting in person for the first time when Shayla and Jason visited Quebec City, exploring Île d’Orléans and discovering Shayla’s ancestral roots as a descendant of the original filles du roi. * Creating Healthy Boundaries Online: The group discussed protecting mental health while engaging in online spaces, dealing with toxicity or divisiveness by curating safe online spaces, and the importance of advocating for marginalized groups. Please join us in wishing Beth the best of luck and opportunities in her new projects! Thank you so much for launching TIME FOR LIFE with Soso, Beth, you are a gem (or should I say, a rock ;) and as we say in French ‘Ce n’est qu’un au revoir chère amie!’ Happy Friday all. Time for Life | E27 - Time for Creativity

Good morning everyone, In case you have missed yesterday’s Time for Life, this is the link to the episode. Discover Jai C Porter 🇨🇦 , an amazing member of our community, a who also lives with disability and chronic pain. A trauma informed therapeutic counselor, she provides insights on healing, creativity, and practice. We discussed creativity as a path to healing, or at least, tried to stay of topic (😆). Jai is a sensitive, animated and multi-passionate person whom I find I have a lot in common with! So… yeah. The discussion went in many directions, but , I think, all of them lively and pertinent to what we seek to do here, which is to Take Time for Life… It was gratifying! Thank you Jai C Porter 🇨🇦 for such an inspiring conversation! I can’t believe it Thursday. Almost at the end of the week folks! Tomorrow is another day ☺️ Have a good one!
