RadioFree Riverside | Bianco's Ballot Steal Bust

Takeaways: She reported the California Supreme Court ruled Sheriff Chad Bianco's seizure of 650,000 ballots unlawful and ordered him to return them, a decisive rebuke that reinforced limits on local law enforcement handling ballots. She explained Attorney General Rob Bonta's authority to stop the investigation was upheld, showing how state-level jurisdiction can override local actions when election law and public trust are at stake. She clarified that legal safeguards like warrants, chain-of-custody, and statutory procedure exist to protect ballots; opposing lawyers argued Bianco bypassed those rules, which is why judges found the seizure improper. He cited a claimed 45,000-vote gap, but the county registrar found only about 103-ballot discrepancy within the margin of error, illustrating experts' point that voter fraud is extremely rare and unlikely to change outcomes. She noted the ruling sparked political fallout—governor, advocates, and legislators praised it, new laws now criminalize taking marked ballots, and the episode highlights how election integrity disputes can quickly turn into partisan theater.
