    In Search Of The INXS Holy Grail.

    Hi Legend! One of my absolute favourite episodes is here! This week on Listen Like Fans, I’m joined once again by our wonderful behind-the-scenes collaborator and resident INXS collector, Andrew Lambie, as we dive headfirst into the fascinating world of INXS collectibles. Many of you will remember Andrew (along with his partner in crime, Danyelle!) from last season when we chatted about INXS fandom, fanzines, the Calling All Nations Fan History book and some of their most treasured INXS memorabilia. That conversation got us thinking… what are the rarest INXS releases ever produced? And what truly deserves to be called the Holy Grail of INXS collectibles? With INXS celebrating almost 50 incredible years, there’s been an amazing array of vinyl, CDs and cassettes released all around the world. Some are easy to find… others are almost mythical! So Andrew and I decided to count down our Top 10 rarest and most sought-after pieces of INXS music media, along with a few honourable mentions that collectors dream about owning. From elusive 7-inch singles and promotional CDs to rare overseas pressings, withdrawn releases and unique vinyl variants, there’s something here for lifelong collectors and fans who are only just discovering the incredible world of INXS collecting. And who knows… You might even have one of these hidden away in a cupboard, garage or attic without even realising it!     The Next Generation: Meet Jayden, a UK Superfan Flying the INXS Flag

    Hi Legend! This week on Listen Like Fans, I’m joined by one of the next generation of die-hard INXS devotees — the one and only Jayden Crabtree! Growing up just outside Manchester, where the airwaves are dominated by hometown heroes like Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Happy Mondays and New Order, you’d be forgiven for thinking a young music fan might never stumble across INXS. But fate had other plans. One spin of Suicide Blonde on his mum’s old rock compilation CD was all it took. From that moment on, Jayden was hooked. Add a few iconic photos of Michael Hutchence and Kylie Minogue into the mix, and a lifelong obsession was born. Jayden first connected with us during the Access All Areas Podcast years ago, and we’ve been looking forward to this chat ever since. We dive deep into his incredible passion for INXS, particularly his quest to track down the very clothes that were worn by the band during their glory years. From vintage late-’80s Doc Martens and Agnes B Homme shirts to Kensington Fantasia classics, Modzart London trousers, Hustler tees and the legendary Watch The World Argue shirts, Jayden has become something of an INXS fashion detective. Splitting his time between the UK and Mexico has also led to some unforgettable fan experiences, including attending a massive open-air screening of the legendary Wembley concert in Mexico. When rain threatened to shut the event down, nearly a thousand passionate fans came close to staging a rock ‘n’ roll rebellion to keep the show going! It was an absolute pleasure hearing Jayden’s stories and sharing his infectious enthusiasm for all things INXS. We hope you’ll enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it.     Rockstar INXS Stories with MiG Ayesha

    Hi Legend! We're back with Season 2 whoohoooo.... and n this week's episode, we're delighted to have on the Listen Like Fans podcast the extremely versatile and talented 'MiG' Ayesa - or to give him his full name, Miguel Alfonso Ramon Legarda Ayesa. As many INXS fans will remember, MiG was a contestant on RockStar INXS. Mig was one of the final three contestants and became a frontrunner with versions of "Live and Let Die" and "Baby, I Love Your Way".  MiG joins Bee from a cruise ship in a wide-ranging career interview to discuss all things performing on TV, studio and stage - including singing in multiple languages such as Japanese! In the twenty years since RockStar INXS ended, Mig has enjoyed a successful music career, releasing solo albums, working in theatre and appearing in television and film.  On the podcast today, MiG talks about his break into theatre in London's West End and meeting the surviving members of rock band Queen for his lead stint in We Will Rock You. All this would change, however, when Mig decided to try his luck auditioning for a new reality TV programme... Auditioning at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London to the INXS classic 'I Send a Message', a certain Mr Pengilly would be in the audience watching. This led to a second audition and then making the final 50 cut to perform in Los Angeles.  MiG recounts the laborious process of filming for each round of the RockStar INXS audition and eventually making it into the last 15. During his time with RockStar INXS, 'Baby, I Love Your Way', the Peter Frampton classic, became one of the standout performances of the entire series. MiG takes us behind the scenes and explains how the songs were chosen and how he came up with the arrangement to make the song his own.  In something of a fortuitous twist of fate, this would lead to Peter Frampton playing acoustic guitar on MiG's debut album. Talking about his debut solo album, MiG gives the inside on how Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee was responsible for MiG's debut album being shelved by the record label for two years!  Finally, MiG talks reuniting with the original RockStar INXS house band and many of the contestants for the upcoming anniversary shows at the Avalon in Hollywood. With more than 25 years in the industry, MiG has had a varied and interesting career, and the signs are that there are plenty more twists and turns to come.     Front Row, Backstage & Forever Fans: Craig & Lesley’s INXS Story

    Hi Legend! It’s something of a first for the Listen Like Fans podcast this episode, as we welcome our first husband-and-wife duo. We’re delighted to have INXS uber fans Craig & Lesley Hicks on the show today. The very epitome of an INXS power couple, Craig & Lesley have travelled far and wide to see the band perform live. Beginning with Kick-era concerts in 1988, through tours in the ’90s, to seeing Jon Stevens in 2000, JD Fortune in 2006, and Ciaran in the final touring years. Hear Craig & Lesley talk about their favourite ever INXS moment—being invited backstage to join Jon Stevens and the band at a private bar, chatting footy and fishing with Tim, and fielding questions from new frontman Jon himself, asking, “How am I doing?” As INXS’s touring career drew to a close, we hear Craig & Lesley reflect on the “forgotten” lead singer of INXS—Ciaran Gibbin—and share their thoughts on his style as frontman, including the time Ciaran borrowed and wore Chris’s sunglasses during a gig. Offering an insight into domestic life, the couple also discuss the challenges of finding space to display their INXS memorabilia—including Kirk’s framed jacket from Rock Star: INXS. Lesley talks about being front and centre at concerts, keeping an eye on the always-charismatic Michael. This positioning proved fortuitous one night when he inadvertently dropped a bracelet his girlfriend, Helena, had given him. Hoping to keep it as a souvenir, Leslley instead ended up with Michael’s sweat-covered towel—much to the delight of the crowd! Ever the dedicated INXS fan, Craig recalls queuing overnight to be first through the gates for the Concert for Life—but only if the birth of their child came before the gig. Thankfully, their new arrival came just in time, four days before the concert! From humble beginnings hanging out at the roller-skating rink as kids, Craig & Lesley have known each other for nearly 40 years and have been married for 30. This match made in INXS heaven shows how a shared love of the band can bring people together—and continues to play a major role in their lives as part of the INXS fan community.
